Hope that's an OK unilateral decision!

MrsS, that's a result!

Lalsy Grin

MrsFilthPacket · 20/11/2016 21:10

Temp now at 38.6, which is the lowest it has been all day.
Still squirting, but less pain, and feeling much better. Will see how I am in the morning, re work.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 20/11/2016 21:22

I'm in bed with Claudia Winkleman and a cup of decaf tea..... bliss!

I blitzed dd2's room today. She really is a queen of flinging grubby clothes everywhere. I needed to move in a desk that I've 'reconditioned' with fancy knobs and F&B paint. She 'reconditioned' some dog food cans to make pencil holders!

Mrs S, hope you have a non-violent night tonight. Pretty sure the D bit of D&V means you're off work tomorrow.

Collymollypuff · 20/11/2016 22:03

I have to go to our Big Yellow stash tomorrow. I've got to see if I can find dd's swimming costume in Crate Number 11.

I've also developed a cold and am feeling sorry for self. But can see that MrsS's lack of health is much worse. Thanks

Collymollypuff · 20/11/2016 22:04

And certainly don't go to work MrsS. It's a duvet day. Do you want to borrow a duvet-loving dog to cuddle?

MrsFilthPacket · 20/11/2016 22:08

I can't have tomorrow off, I have too much to do and have been roped into sitting on an interview panel as well. I have to write a paper for Wednesday latest, which needs clearing round the houses - it is one third done, fully planned and should only take around an hour to complete, but no-one else can do it, as there is no-one else in to do it. I could do it from home and do the interview panel by phone if necessary, I guess? Temp now back up to 39.4. Will have to see how I am in the morning...

Collymollypuff · 20/11/2016 22:15

Yes, honestly, do it from home if you must do it. Sad

motherinferior · 20/11/2016 22:15

YOU CAN'T GO TO WORK IF YOU ARE ILL, MrsS!!!

motherinferior · 20/11/2016 22:16

Phone in sick and say you can't do the sodding paper.

IDismyname · 20/11/2016 22:25

Herbs check out Anthroplogie Toute V neck dress. I bough the grey one yesterday. Very warm grey. It's the most amazing fabric... Really heavy so drapes like a dream, and skims effortlessly over knockers and other bulgy stuff on its way down to your knees. I wore with black trousers, but leggings would be fine.
I see they do a pretty green version, too. It's £128.

I think I'll get loads and loads of wear out of it, so hope on a cost per wear basis, it will earn its keep.

Sorry can't do links on my iPad, but HTH.

herbaceous · 20/11/2016 22:59

Oh that's verr nice. However, about four times my 'price point'!

Mrs S. Do not go in. You are very ill. If thy can't cope when one member of staff is ill, which is I niece allowed, they should have more staff.

Cremolafoam · 20/11/2016 23:16

Mrs S, temp going back up means you are still ill and should see a doctor tomorrow, who will tell you to stay at home. I know what it's like to be 'the only one' who can do a thing, but seriously, who , in your workplace would come in if they felt like shit up a ditch. No-one. Your temp has gone back up again because you went up town and fannied about on public transportation.Grinamtrying to be scoldy and making myself laughGrin
DUVET DAY.

CointreauVersial · 21/11/2016 00:17

Heavens no, MrsS - don't go to work in that state.

Herbs - I love a carvery too - and double points for the cauli cheese.

All quiet here....everyone has gone to bed early after last night's family-fest. Long-lost (and quite lovely) cousin lives in stunning minimalist pad; you know a place is big when 28 people fit easily into the kitchen - although the DCs didn't hang about once they'd discovered the games room. All seven of us cousins were together again after thirty years, so there were many photos, reminiscences, and an awful lot of catching up. The DDs were utterly charmed by their new second cousins (especially the one who works for a well-known purveyor of bath bombs; basically every teen girl's dream job). Meanwhile, DS perked up considerably when he saw the beer fridge, and turned out to be the life and soul of the party. Then we went back to DDad's in the small hours for yet more Wine and a bed for the night. I'm determined I'm going to stay in touch with cousin, although it's sad that it took the death of DM's two sublings to bring about a long-overdue reconciliation between the two sides of the family.

And this evening I did about 95% of my Christmas shopping in an online blitz. Result!

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 21/11/2016 07:10

Very jealous of 95% of Christmas shopping done. Let me in on what sites you used!! Grin

IDismyname · 21/11/2016 07:19

I hear you, Herbs! It's about 4 x my usual price point, too.

Am going to get DM to contribute as my Christmas present.

It's just that I have norkage to consider when I buy clothes, and a bit of a waist. There is so much baggy stuff out there for the more flat chested and skinny legged of our species, that I rejoyce when I find something that looks contemporary, drapes over the bad bits, and still alludes to the fact that I do go In as well as out!

It's a long time since I felt quite so enthusiastic about an item of clothing. Dressing confidently is not my forte at all.

IDismyname · 21/11/2016 07:20

Hmmm. I think it's rejoice. Not rejoyce.

Lalsy · 21/11/2016 07:55

I think your dress looks lovely, Cocoa and for that quality I agree about cost per wear, especially if it brings joy!

MrsS, don't go near work - Crem et al are right and it is D.

CointreauVersial · 21/11/2016 08:23

Beachy - I saved time and effort on the Christmas shopping by buying the same thing for all the teen nieces, which were circus signs - metal initial letters with LED lights. I found some at half price on a random website, so I haven't yet set eyes on them.....but my teenage present consultant thinks they will be well received. And I blitzed the M&S website armed with a 20% discount to buy jumpers for dads, leather gloves for mums and various bedroom accessories for DD1, which she helpfully pointed out to me when we were at Bluewater last week. All three DCs had big birthday presents this year (phones, driving lessons) so know that Christmas gifts will be reduced.

Christmas shopping has been greatly facilitated by the fact that DSis, DBro and I decided last year to do "kids only".

motherinferior · 21/11/2016 08:55

I have remarkably few presents to get but am still huffing about stockings.Smile

Blackduck · 21/11/2016 08:58

It's the ruddy 24 drawer advent Calendar that does my head in every year (thanks dad)

Cremolafoam · 21/11/2016 09:01

Just a Quality Street a day Bd? Non?

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 21/11/2016 09:03

I agree the advent calendar is a right pain. We have one between two, so 12 pressies each... uni children do not count Smile

I also do one for ddad with 24 bits of fudge or truffles! He loves it!

I'm going to the big blue and yellow shop tomorrow for my bit of Scandi Xmas spirit!

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 21/11/2016 09:06

And the stockings!

motherinferior · 21/11/2016 09:06

My lovely Indian cousins have requested I take booze and chocolate (Indian choc isn't very good) and ideally chocolate booze. Wine

Blackduck · 21/11/2016 09:15

Cremo chocolate most def doesn't cut it.....
