Hope that's an OK unilateral decision!

I should be going to work. I am full of cold. School called last night to say that DD2 spends all of her time in lessons crying and they have no idea why as she won't tell them. This is why they suggested counselling. She won't tell me what is wrong either, and I have no idea what to do. Apparently she is very behind on homework and needs to catch up, so it seems to be a bit of a vicious circle. She is fine and her normal cheery self in the boarding house. She was a bit upset because she is missing her leavers' ball in the summer (because she will be going to Madagascar on a school trip...) and also because a lot of her friends aren't staying on for sixth form (although her two closest friends are).

Work continues to be shit and Bright Young Thing continues to be all over my stuff like a rash. This resulted in a very passive aggressive email from me last night - he has apologised this morning, but only to me, so the last email in the chain is my pass agg one, so no doubt I'll be hauled over the coals for that, as BYT can do no wrong.

Just marking place.
Love to all...

Collymollypuff · 10/11/2016 10:39

Are you OK, BD?

Sorry to hear about dd2, MrsS. And your ongoing shit situation at work. Sad

(I'm a bit overwhelmed by course work, so can only post snippets atm. Apologies and hugs.) Lots of good wishes to BTM and ds.

bigTillyMint · 10/11/2016 11:40

BD, how are things? Thinking of you Flowers

MrsS, sorry to hear about your DD2. Is there no one she connects with at her school that can get to the bottom of it? Do any of her friends know? Is she finding the work very difficult?

Thanks for all your support, Crepeys, It was a useful visit and there will be a bigger one with more professionals there next week which should be helpful. And DH can actually come to that one Shock

However, the toilet is blocked. Again. DD has admitted to it being her stuffing loads of paper down itAngry Think I will have to go and buy a plunger Angry

Collymollypuff · 10/11/2016 12:42

Masses of bleach and a wire coat hanger would be my plan of attack, BTM. The coat hanger breaks it all up and the bleach makes you feel cleansed. You then just chuck the coat hanger away.

wordassociationfootball · 10/11/2016 12:50

DD1 still wretched in bed, poor thing. Will no doubt pretend to be better for her day trip to Beach Boy on Sat.

Mrs S that email situation makes me want to punch a wall. Bright Young Tosser clearly a major operator. V sorry about dd2 situation.

Rudy - I was doing so well trying to block out the M&S calendar and Get On With My Work and now I'm not sure I'll be able to resist. Is it still online or should I rush, I mean perhaps meander much later or tomorrow, to nearest store?

Have been told by agent to put foreign rights to back of mind. They often don't materialise, but who knows. And that if a UK offer is going to be made, to expect it beginning/med Dec. If no offers, she'll submit to a further bunch of editors in the new year.

wordassociationfootball · 10/11/2016 12:51

CV - your ds must be rightly proud of himself. Love your unglam location Smile

wordassociationfootball · 10/11/2016 12:56

Oh, and Rose, those shoes look fantastic. I'll try some on when I go to M&S in a minute, I mean in next couple of days. Won't hold my breath though. Me in heels - think Les Dawson.

For those of you small of nork and in need of LIFT and absurd comfort, try this non-wired beauty which has restored my faith and bust.

Cremolafoam · 10/11/2016 13:05

Sounds like a hood plan of attack Waf. I think you are allowed a little tingle of excitement though. WinkGrin
am not looking at full bag of Alexa Cheung goodies on M&S including advent calendar oh no
Thankyou Rudy u naughty reindeer Flowers

BD i was thinking of you last night and hoping you are waving and not drowning. It was in relation to getting a doggy, and it made me think of Flash and you. I very much want a dog but dh 'thinking about it'
HmmHmm
Cocoa, very glad gp is more helpful and so sorry you feel overwhelmed at the moment. Hope us crepys can keep you propped up.
BTM i know you are going through the mill too. Hoping ds can get answers.Sad
Addle, thank goodness for joined up nhs action. Love to you and dh.
Do you want to set a date for when u are over?
Lalsy-i am trying mot to normalise - believe me!
Just had the horror filled image if Michelle having to be kind to Melania
And show her round the white house.
GahShockShock

Collymollypuff · 10/11/2016 13:10

Crem, if you get a doggy, DO NOT let dh "train" it. My dh really messed up our ddog and indeed still likes to incite him to be over-excitable. Train the dog yourself.

Rosebag · 10/11/2016 13:27

MrsF DD's sadness sounds work related...overwhelmed. Would not the academic tutor be almost more relevant that the pastoral one? Sorry you're ill too Flowers

Tilly hope the hospital visits and recommendations are the start of something better for DS and you all Flowers re toilet blockage....our loft one does this is the poo is too big...I kid you not. Shock I solve it with boiling water from the kettle, a stick. Or Molly's wire hanger...and then yes, lots of bleach after. Works every time.

They're from Clarks, Waf I'm amazed that I didn't have to put on my trusty ballet flats, half way though the evening. Not that I would suggest them for every day wear. And my hips don't even ache this morning...

BD have been wondering if youre ok?

Well Rudy and other Crepeys...I have my first EVAH Advent Calendar (deprived childhood) . I bought two pairs of cords form M&S which I will return next week.... there's a reason it be cheerful, eh.

NUFC69 · 10/11/2016 13:32

My M&S calendar is sitting looking at me whilst I write - there were masses in store when I went this morning.

NUFC69 · 10/11/2016 13:39

Posted too soon.

MrsF, I hate that kind of attitude from Young Man, it isn't on. Flowers

BTM, commiserations about the loo, not a problem we have, fortunately.

All my paperwork has arrived this morning so I have forms to fill in, chairs and toilets to measure and lots of dates in my diary, including one three hour appointment. Shock

IDismyname · 10/11/2016 14:03

NUF

All my paperwork has arrived this morning so I have forms to fill in, chairs and toilets to measure and lots of dates in my diary, including one three hour appointment

You'll have to humour me as I'm still trying to piece you all together, but my mind is boggling - what do you do...????

NUFC69 · 10/11/2016 15:17

Cocoa, you did make me giggle. It's not what I do, I am having a knee replacement on 19th December, so it's all the appointments for that, plus measuring things so that they can give me appliances, etc., for the toilets and so on. I am, by the way, the oldest Crepey.

MrsF, sorry that DD is having problems: I hope it can be sorted out so that she is happier.

bigTillyMint · 10/11/2016 16:24

Loo sorted - bought plunger (eeeuuuwww) and loo unblocked liquid and flushed it out with hot water. I really hope the DC can now limit their use of loo paper Angry

Have been for second dental appt of week - this one for a filling. Implants to be fitted in 3 months.

Lalsy · 10/11/2016 16:34

GrinGrin at toilet measuring job for NU!

Rose, cords, I need some (for my chilly volunteering and WAH so no need for glamour, as if) - what did you make of the M and S ones and are there others you would recommend.

MrsS what a load of shite. And how baffling about dd2.

BTM, so glad he is getting the care he needs. Star for toilet mission

Collymollypuff · 10/11/2016 18:02

Yes, BTM, I bet most of us Crepeys have been thinking of you today...on your toilet mission... Grin

IDismyname · 10/11/2016 18:11

Well, NUF - you made me laugh, too!

How ironic, that with your impending knee op, you need to get down on your hands and ..err... knees to measure stuff up Hmm

BTM - congratulations on your latest achievement!

I'm sure it was in Zambia a few years ago... toilet paper was in very short supply, and at the airport, you paid your money at the entrance to the loos, and a lady counted out 10 sheets of loo paper.

Maybe a similar system chez nous? After all, you don't have ANYTHING else to do!!

hattymattie · 10/11/2016 18:56

Hello crepies - "Friday Night" here as yet another bank holiday tomorrow. Have had a busy day though with work and then seeing the translator for my ongoing French Nationality dossier. It is nearly complete and I'm hoping to hand it in (and get it accepted) in the next couple of weeks.

Then had a drink with a friend to moan about - well you know who.

Mrs FP - DD isn't being bullied is she? You give the impression that she is normally so confident that I wondered if something like that was going on. Sorry work continues to be shit.

BTM - glad the appointment went OK - and that professionals are on board. Also glad the toilet is unblocked.

Colly - your dog is so cute.Smile

Collymollypuff · 10/11/2016 19:22

Thanks, Hatty. Smile [proud dogmother]

addle · 10/11/2016 19:50

collymollydog v cute, agreed

'Friday night' here too - hooray for 4 days a week

Mrs S - how are you? too late now but when faced with that sort of email tossering I sometimes restore the missing names from chain while sending a bland acknowledgement 'BYT thanks for your drivelling grovel of an apology. not enough.' That sort of thing and only if pushed.

BTM - well done. TMI I know but it isn't happening when DD has her period is it? because I do think the 10pp each overlooks what can happen when you just keep bleeding ...

Rose - quite right with the cautious optimism - DH felt rather downcast this morning that he wasn't right back to normal. I suspect he really does need proper ADs not just stuff to help him sleep BUT at least he knows he can talk about all of it again in 2 weeks.

Molly - what's your course? I can't remember sorry (crepey)

Crem - going to PM you.

Rudy/Rose - does the advent calendar contain ordinary stuff as well as abstruse beauty products (dragon's blood) that I'm baffled by?

bigTillyMint · 10/11/2016 21:12

That's exactly what I wondered Addle, but no - she just used loads of paper on top of someone else who hadnt flushed...

Rudy Angry I am trying to not treat myself to that calendar.... Grin

Just been to see I Daniel Blake with DD. So sad.

bigTillyMint · 10/11/2016 21:15

Addle, that's just exactly the problem with MH issues, isn't it? They just can't be easily solved overnight. Really good that he has another appt to look ahead to.
