Hope that's an OK unilateral decision!

Go get 'em Rose.

MI, that's v encouraging.

BTM, thinking of you often. What a month/2 months it's been.

Here, I have dealt with DD1's knocked over Brian, and managed to pass off a trip to the big Sainsbury's as a fun evening out for DD2. Hope I decide it's less anxious making to not work than work when I come back.

Book news is.... encouraging. Foreign rights people my agency uses are v keen and a simultaneous international submission is taking place. Am in odd position of knowing that 8 Italian and 6 Dutch editors have it, also one in Brazil and 14 'scout's' in the UK. Not cub scouts, that would be inappropriate. Have a feeling this will all be very drawn out but it's an exciting start.

Collymollypuff · 09/11/2016 18:42

WAF, that's so fantastic - much vicarious pleasure here. MI, likewise fantastic that young man likes your book - bodes extremely well.

I think we should all clear our 2017 diaries for launch parties.

hattymattie · 09/11/2016 18:48

Wow - great news from the budding authors - agree about launch parties Colly. It's nice to hear something positive on a grim day like this.

BTM - strength for hospital visit and Flowers for bad day today.

Rose - have fun with the hoi polloi - although I can guess what the major topic of conversation will be today.

bigTillyMint · 09/11/2016 19:00

WAF that's amazing!

Thanks crepeys Smile

Collymollypuff · 09/11/2016 19:09

Auriga, are you OK? Hope you found the tears helped. Thanks

Cremolafoam · 09/11/2016 19:10

How good to hear of literary prowess on a day like this . Congrats to you waf and you MI. Marvellous.

Rose knock em out you gorgeous mama!

Agree with shouting out loud and proud. Dh said something's simpering like " maybe he'll be a breath of fresh air"
He no longer has a head.

BTM , so sorry for you and family. I know it's affecting you all, and must be exhausting. Take care.Flowers
You too Auriga. Hope you are ok.Flowers

addle · 09/11/2016 19:25

BTM thinking of you. at your end of town if can be company
Auriga hope you ok

WAF/MI brilliant news

In good but odd news here, on the back of my 111 call about DH on Sunday they contacted his GP surgery who rang him with an appt today. I didn't know they were going to do that. He did go and I went with him. So I'm hoping not just the meds but also the opening up and support will help. Doctor was v good; v thoughtful and saw DH on his own as well as with me.

I'm going to be PITA woman too. Not passing on this world to DCs

Lalsy · 09/11/2016 19:27

Yes, WAF and MI, thank you both so much for giving us some good news today. I may be looking for a spot of publishing contract advice soon (on behalf of someone who could do with a hint about a very unfamiliar world) - could I PM you both as and when I know details? any other crepeys who know about such matters?

Crem Grin. Simon Scharma says don't normalise.

Rose hope you have a lovely evening.

Stropperella · 09/11/2016 20:21

Oh addle, am very pleased to hear your update. Hope your dh will be able to accept the help he clearly needs. Thinking of you both.

BTM, so sorry to hear that the last couple of days have been tricky ones. Am thinking of you frequently. Hope things will get easier soon.

WAF, splendiferous news! Go you! It all sounds incredibly exciting.

MI, that is v good news about your encouraging feedback. Onward and upward, and may your book land in the just the right hands very soon.

wordassociationfootball · 09/11/2016 20:21

Addle, I shed a tear over the joined up nature of our beautiful health service. How brilliant that GP was so good.

Lalsy - not a clue re contracts, really. Only ever had TV ones and an agent dealing with them. As per, there is deffo tons of stuff online. Back from Sainsbos. Leccy blanket and oddly uplifting deression books.

IDismyname · 09/11/2016 21:24

WAF and MI What great news! I had no idea I was joining such an illustrious group of ladies. Bravo!

Reasons to Be Cheerful x 4

  1. See Above
  1. Tried the Spiced Gin from Lidls with chunk of clementine in. Hmmm. Lovely.
  1. Previously horrid Doctor from failed coil attempt was rather nice to me this evening, and has put me forward for counselling. She was, however, a bit short on hankies, as I sobbed into my sleeve. NHS truly in dire straits if no paper tissues available. (I know, I know... shoulda taken my own).
  1. Went for yomp in nearish park today with dogs. National Trust. Capability Brown landscape, as the rain was clearing. Could see for miles - deer roaming everywhere. I bloody love nature sometimes.
IDismyname · 09/11/2016 21:27

Oh, and Addle - Hmmmm - funny coincidence, eh...??

Just occasionally, they do a bit of joined up thinking. I really, really hope that this will push things in the right direction for you.

Collymollypuff · 09/11/2016 21:49

Cocoa, what breed are your dogs? We have a terrier.

In Crepey Remembrance Of CremCat Past
IDismyname · 09/11/2016 22:33

Oh Colly! I think we have nearly matching dogs.

One grumpy elderly Border and a much less grumpy and slightly younger spaniel.

Collymollypuff · 09/11/2016 22:39

Amazing! Our BT is eight. And quirky. I love spaniels.

CointreauVersial · 09/11/2016 22:47

Fab news, WAF. How exciting!

That all sounds positive, Addle, and I really hope DH is accepting the help he needs.

BTM - hope today was OK.

What a day....leaving home at 6am, I didn't expect to see any of my family this morning, but there they were, watching the US news in their PJs, in absolute horror...Sad

Scotland is cold, and just a little snowy, and I was horribly late for my flight, which was all a bit stressful. But I've had a productive day (in a portacabin, on a construction site, next to a landfill, just in case anyone thinks my life is impossibly glamorous) followed by a nice wine-fueled dinner out with a couple of colleagues....I am about to hit the hay, and don't anticipate any problems sleeping.

DS had a successful driving lesson (drove a good few miles) AND got the job. Yay!

Collymollypuff · 09/11/2016 22:59

Good for your ds, CV. Snow, brrrr.

bigTillyMint · 10/11/2016 06:59

Addle, that's brilliant - so pleased they joined up and your DH has something to support him. It's a great start Smile

And congratulations to CV's DS Wine

Hoping today will be better than yesterday and that the doctor is able to answer DS's questions/worries convincingly.

magimedi · 10/11/2016 07:24

Great news, Addle.

Fingers crossed for you & DS today, BTM.

IDismyname · 10/11/2016 07:26

Colly Hmmm... I'm not sure 'quirky' describes my BT. More of the 'bloody minded' sort! Mind you, throw in bad eyesight and deafness, and now I'm not so sure what the problem is.
Meanwhile, spaniel is rarely more than 6 feet away from me at any one time, unless she's shut in the kitchen.

MontserratCaballe · 10/11/2016 07:30

Good luck today, BTM. I am thinking of you.

Addle, so glad Dh is getting some help.

WAF, so glad people love the book.

Just a quick one - reading but not posting. Hope to be off tomorrow and catching up properly. Love to all.

Rosebag · 10/11/2016 08:06

Hoping today is better than yesterday Tilly for you and DS Flowers

Addle cautious optimism. Smile Relieved to see something joined up in the health service. I guess sometimes it takes an outsider to convince a person they need help and support. We're often too close. Flowers

I glad the Doc was kind Cocoa in spite of the lack of tissues....

Book news....I'm really chuffed to her that both WAF and MI have amazing news Star Go you two!

Very tired after a good night, last night. Managed the high heels all evening without hobbling...thank you... Clarks. [[www.clarks.co.uk/p/26118843 non painful high heels for Crepeys]
Was a bit Hmm about aspects of the performance though...it's a bit of a long story...

Lalsy · 10/11/2016 08:33

Addle, good news.

And Cocoa, glad you doc better at the brain end of things.....sorry if you have said this but roughly where are you (if you want to say) - I like the sound of your walk.

BTM, fingers crossed for you today at hospital. I think of you and ds every day.

NUFC69 · 10/11/2016 08:35

I am basking in a reflected glow from WAF and MI.

BTM, good luck today: I am sorry nothing seems to be resolving. I can only imagine the stress you and your family are going through.

Addle, that sounds promising.

CV, well done to DS. And how are the other DSs doing, Rudy and BD?

DH has just left for his jury service; after two days doing nothing he actually has a trial today. The Court in Newcastle, on the Quayside, looks very impressive, but he says that it is very tired and shabby inside. There are, I think, 4 floors, and the lift isn't working and won't be repaired until the New Year - it's a good job I am not doing jury service as I would never get up to the courts on the top floor.

I have agreed to take part in a trial for Northumbria Healthcare Trust which involves physio after the knee replacement: they are trialling physios visiting at home instead of patients attending hospital. Unfortunately people are allocated by computer as I quite fancy not having to attend regular appts at hospital afterwards, still I am keeping my fingers crossed.

NUFC69 · 10/11/2016 08:38

Yes, that's good news, Cocoa, and I was pleased to hear that the GP was more sympathetic.
