Following on from the skincare routines post, what ingredients do you make sure you include in your products, for example, Vit C, Vit E, Hyaluronic acid?

TIA

I use eye cream after actives and water spray... but then, just in case, I use everything else over that. Grin
My eye area is not sensitive at all though.

hollinhurst84 · 26/11/2016 12:28

I've been donated another lip balm. My dad bought it thinking it was unscented Grin
Balance me rose otto, smells amazing but definitely not for him!!

botemp · 26/11/2016 12:33

I was having issue checking out on the Nars site. Paid with credit card on LF since they charged a surcharge for paypal on there Confused.

Figured out if I don't apply the discount I can check out with Nars (and email them to get the difference back) but am now contemplating whether I still want it... I have till Monday anyhow and am wondering whether to go mad at Selfridges instead now that I have discovered their practically free shipping programme.

So far I have ordered one, I repeat, one Shock thing from LF. I'm a terrible excuse for a shopaholic this BF.

Pupsiecola · 26/11/2016 13:02

You are right re the Neostrata pads Bo. TBH I stopped using them because my neck became aggravated (at the start of this post). But I think it was probably a couple of the other Neostrata products that were doing that. And I was also trying Pixi Glow (which I took back and got a refund because that defo didn't help). I was in a haze of trying everything at once, stupidly. But I might try the pads again at some point.

I've been a bit spotty down one side where I had the filler which is unusual because I don't usually get spots.

I'm doing an xmas list for DH and think I'm going to ask for some REN oil. Who mentioned it upthread? Sounds like the the right sort of product for my skin.

We have been having a kitchen extension for 3 months. Still not finished. Really stressful for one reason and another. Hope it's going to be done for xmas. But have just booked to go skiing, as I got an amazing 40% off deal :-)

Got another mail from LF - they still can't process my order Angry. If this does not work I'll give up!!! What annoying service and waste of time!
Funny, I didn't see any surcharge for PayPal Confused

Pupsie moving and/ or renovating is very very stressful. I think there is no way to avoid problems or hindrances... We have to fix a very minor leak and the damage it did next month and I'm already dreading it....

hollinhurst84 · 26/11/2016 14:59

I've come shopping in town which is heaving. Picked up some makeup obsession eyeshadows and highlighter, and a load of w7 makeup
Waiting to have my eyebrows done and upper lip!

botemp · 26/11/2016 19:38

They really are making it hard on you to buy over there at LF, hope it gets settled soon, Aurora. It was only 1% more but I hate the practice on principal when they start differentiating between different payment systems at the customer level. Their business is big enough to incorporate such differences in their earnings model Angry.

3 months since they started groundworks, Pupsie Shock? It's usually 4-6 weeks (watertight within 2) on projects I've designed but then most of it is prefabricated off site. Has it just turned into an unfortunate series of delays now? Hope it gets some momentum soon and relieve you of the stress it brings, or the very least whilst skiing Smile. Don't forget SPF, you'll need a good one.

I do think breakouts are a possible side effect with fillers but I wouldn't expect such a delayed reaction. How long has it been now?

No experience with the REN serum, think it was part of someone's routine. It's a bit one dimensional in terms of ingredients (the Vit A is negligible, esp. if using Retinol) and Vit E and Omegas aren't something I seek out in a single product. It's also fragranced but I'm guessing it's natural rather than synthetic so less likely to cause irritation.

AuroraPolaris · 26/11/2016 20:51

Yeah I know what you mean re those surcharges. I too avoid them on principle.

Well, I haven't heard from LF yet, so basically I can't order...

Trying a new mask tonight. One of my direct imports from Taiwan Grin

hollinhurst84 · 26/11/2016 22:11

Pupsie that was me with the REN
It doesn't break me out, and it's not oily as such, v hard to describe texture. Just gives me a bit of extra slip/moisture without being heavy. I've repurchased twice which is good rating for me! Hirons did a post about it

Pupsiecola · 26/11/2016 23:04

Thanks guys. Bo yes a series of unfortunate events. The project manager is a neighbour so it's got a bit awkward. He's basically got too many projects going on so we've had days and weeks of no one on site. It's been tricky and we've crossed words a couple of times. It's driving me mad now. Every other room in the house bar bathrooms and kids' rooms has crap from kitchen. I reckon we are another 2 to 3 weeks out. All so bloody unnecessary. Fillers were nearly two weeks ago btw. Breakout started a couple days after. Almost gone now.

Thanks for the eye cream info. I'm going to go with applying it after everything else as I use the patting/pressing method to apply face stuff rather than my fingers, (Skin seems to prefer that for some reason), and I don't want to get the Kiehl's eye cream anywhere else as its so rich.

Can stress cause dry skin? Weird question but I know it can cause spots obviously but dry? Nose and chin were starting to behave very well but have reverted back to flaky dry patches again the past few days.

Rest of skin is improving. No visible spots at all, had about 5 dark red/purple pigmentation marks from recent breakouts and they're almost all gone. Chin still a bit congested but seems less.

Must be the Kiehl's micro peel as that's the only new thing I've used on my face. (Used Corsx on nose a couple of times but nowhere else yet). Going to buy some as well as the avocado eye cream. 👍🏻

EnidButton · 26/11/2016 23:28

Tell a lie! I also broke lots of skin care commandments and bought a very abrasive face scrub a couple of weeks ago. A No7 micro dermabrasion one. m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?unCountry=uk&path=%2Fen%2FNo7-Total-Renewal-Micro-dermabrasion-Face-Exfoliator_1259471%2F
Have used it 3 times and really like it. Actually don't get redness from it like the leaflet and some reviews warn bu can see a difference after I use it. Another winner I think.

Pupsiecola · 27/11/2016 08:39

When applying acids do y'all pat as in P50 video or swipe?

OP posts:
AuroraPolaris · 27/11/2016 09:44

Oh oh forgot to watch the video. I swipe, but very gently. That's what I also saw Mr Narüko do in the video I can't find anymore... but I swiped before that as well Grin

botemp · 27/11/2016 11:11

That is awkward, Pupsie, and also why I don't work for friends and family, it can get really hairy. I hope it all gets done before Christmas, it's a nightmare to reboot projects after the holidays as they usually all have new work lined up in the new year and you become priority 5002.

Did you use the Kiehl's micro peel on the dry areas, Enid? I did warn the high Alcohol Den. content may be drying and as this is a relatively new development the two may be related? Will ignore the blasphemous advertising of physical exfoliants on this thread for now

I've never looked into it properly but I suppose since stress has such an influence on hormonal levels it's not an odd assumption that this carries through into skin health.

I do as the video with acids, Pupsie, but mostly because when I bought the P50 they were very insistent that I do it that way. With the P50 I also find it easier to keep track of where I've been with the patting method but I think if you're using something heavily saturated like those pre-soaked pads it makes more sense to swipe. Toners, etc. - when I bother to use a cotton pad it's a gentle swiping motion. I tend to gently pat most products in on the whole, much prefer it.

Nars customer service replied... I think they've lost me as a customer forever by suggesting I check my address (there is no possibility to input this when checking out through paypal Confused) and call their American CS to figure this out when it's obviously a glitch in their bloody system with the stupid code Angry.

Hylamide SubQ Serum reduced to £14 Boots online!

botemp · 27/11/2016 11:25

Those of you with (children with) atopic disposition, is there an oil based shower gel you can recommend? I used to use Lipikar from LRP but it has SLS in it and I'd like one without (but oil based).

Pupsiecola · 27/11/2016 11:43

I'm intrigued by your day job Bo. Your non skin care expertise role...

We will not be using this guy again. We need a bathroom doing in Spring but will look elsewhere. He can drive past our house and see works going on and ruminate on why it's not him doing it!

I've used the P50 neat once and will do so again tonight. Stupid question but should I be expecting? If nothing adverse xan I go to every other night?

Bo would you like me to send you a handful of the Neostrata ones?

OP posts:
botemp · 27/11/2016 12:01

I'm an architect Pupsie, used to project manage the smaller projects in the past but it really is a separate job.

With P50 my skin became very smooth, like baby smooth and eliminated all dry patches and ultimately I was a bit more radiant (but dullness has never been my issue). If you do happen to get a spot they disappear really quick and heal better too ime. For me, it knocked everything I'd been using up a notch too.

Yes, you can do every other night, BR say you can use it up to 2x a day, but it feels a bit much for me personally.

No need for the Neostrata, I've just seen it contains glycolic. I'd been looking into the Zelens version mostly. Was just curious about how effective PHA had been for you, there's little that will really pry me away from P50 but not everyone gets on with it so it's good to have some decent non-glycolic AHA out there for sensitive skinned people to point towards.

AuroraPolaris · 27/11/2016 12:07

Well bo I'm almost afraid to recommend the Weleda baby body and hair shampoo yet again Grin
One could always mix a bit of Weleda baby oil into it. When my kids were new borns the midwife instructed me not to use anything but that baby oil for a few weeks, so just put that in the bath water etc.

The other shower product I wrote about awhile ago is also amazing eu.m.iherb.com/Everyday-Shea-Shampoo-Body-Wash-Gentle-for-Babies-on-Up-Lemon-Lavender-16-fl-oz-475-ml/35028

Sorry, on phone so I don't know if that link will work...

AuroraPolaris · 27/11/2016 12:10

How annoying about NARS crappy service!!!! I really loooove their blushes....

I also wonder about LF because I have ordered from them in the past using PP, so why the problem now???

Well, we can always look at the positive side of things and meditate on the money we saved!

Pupsiecola · 27/11/2016 13:14

Agreed that is dreadful customer service.

What should I expect re getting used to the P50? I have a spot on my cheek. Only.a small one. Is there a possibility skin will look worse for a few days?

OP posts:
AuroraPolaris · 27/11/2016 14:08

In my experience P50 is a massive help with spots especially if you hold the cotton wool on the spot for a minute or so and then apply oil, but I've been using it for a few years.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 27/11/2016 17:36

I'm on the hunt for P50 now bo and will relegate pixi to post leg shave!!
Problem is it's really hard to buy in the UK Envy May have found a local spa that uses it. Will be contacting them tomorrow!

It's the nourishing oil cleanser from Tata that I've got. I think the oils are too much for my face!

SheStoodInTheStorm · 27/11/2016 17:36

I'm a CH fan, still am, but becoming a lot more aware of brands she is now working with.....
