Following on from the skincare routines post, what ingredients do you make sure you include in your products, for example, Vit C, Vit E, Hyaluronic acid?

TIA

And liquid or Dutch courage also ties in to our discussions of fermented ingredients Grin

Re P50 you can also wet the cotton wool with water for the first week or two in order to dilute it and let your skin accustom itself. Enjoy falling in love!!!!

Pupsiecola · 22/11/2016 14:32

Thank you ladies. I did watch that tutorial someone posted which was very helpful.

I totally forgot that my Neostrata Tinted SPF seems to clash horribly with the Vitamin C. Last time I went out, assuming it would settle and it took over an hour. This time I took it all off and started again. Grrrr. It leaves a very itchy tingle around the nose area. Very irritating, but no visible signs of redness etc.

I will try the Skinceutical Vit C vials; it's easier to judge effect if you have a comparison and I'm really not sure about the feel of TO Vit C.

botemp · 22/11/2016 14:46

I'm having TO Vit C issues today too, I experimented by following their instructions and using it after watery solutions but I'm having the same peeling issues I had yesterday but pretty much since applying SPF. No rain involved this time and I'm actually wondering whether this peeling process is actually compromising my SPF protection.

For those of you in London, a new Japanese beauty shop, Shiro, has opened up on King's Road. They have a whole Kelp based line, will have to look up the INCI for a bit more info though.

I'm howling at hairy turkey!

botemp · 23/11/2016 11:03

Pai BF deal:

From Thursday, 24th November to midnight on Monday, 28th November Pai will be offering 25% off site-wide with the code: BLACKPAIDAY. T&Cs apply.

Darphin are doing this set, not sure about the products but quite the saving I suppose. Some more BF offers/codes from Darphin here.

Overview of multiple BF beauty deals here.

I have yet to see anything I want... Sad

botemp · 23/11/2016 11:09

Naturismo (starting now I assume):

15% off all orders with code GREEN15, 20% off all orders over £100 with code GREEN20. Ends Monday, 28th November 2016 Midnight GMT. Terms & exclusions apply. Bloody Vintner's Daughter is not in stock

yongnian · 23/11/2016 12:20

Oo thanks botemp highly tempting.... Grin

Nabootique · 23/11/2016 12:54

botemp Please could you update on the Yuli serum once you've had a chance to form an opinion on it? I have been eyeing the Cell Perfecto one for about... oooh... two years! The ingredients look good but I'm loathe to spend that much on something I can even get a sample of or test in store.

botemp · 23/11/2016 13:18

I haven't ordered it yet, but am planning on ordering some from Amazingy this BF. You can order their sample pack and just indicate what you want specifically. You can choose 5 and then indicate you want more of one thing and only choose a few products. They usually end up sending a few extra samples from the same brand too, they're a lovely webstore. .

botemp · 23/11/2016 13:20

Also, 10% off on your first order if you sign up to their newsletter. I do tend to find them priced a bit higher with certain brands though.

EnidButton · 23/11/2016 13:36

Quite tempted by the Real Trchniques set although I have a few of the bridges already. They are good brushes though and that's a real bargain. Otherwise as far as skincare goes I might get some more EH balm from whichever site is doing an overall discount but that's it.

AuroraPolaris · 23/11/2016 16:05

FEELUNIQUE have a lot of BF discounts too, like 1/3 on LRP. It seems though that if you search for products you can see further discounts than what initially appears under the BF menu.

Not tempted by the Deciem BF offers....

Pupsiecola · 23/11/2016 16:23

No visible effect from the P50 last night at all. I might go straight in on Friday with it neat then use every other night with the BHA on the night in between.

OP posts:
botemp · 23/11/2016 18:44

At best the first time you use p50 you can experience some redness, I was expecting a lot and was left a little bit underwhelmed, it was a very different experience when I used it neat. Do what feels best, I moved out of the damp cotton stage quicker too (it's advised to do 2 weeks), my skin seemed to handle it fine and was already accustomed to acids. The damp cotton stage really just wards off any adverse reactions or extreme sensitivity.

I'm not tempted by Deciem offers either, was thinking of getting the Retinoil for body from Hand Chemistry and maybe something from the NIOD range but those bundles don't inspire me to pull out my wallet at all.

Some more codes:

Lookfantastic:

18% off everything (starting now) with the code RUSH. Special deals on the day.

Feelunique:

Several changing deals to be found here, I'm assuming more special deals on the day itself.

Escentual:

10% off with code BLACK10 valid from Friday 25th November 2016 at 00.00 GMT, until Monday 28th November 11.59 GMT. Valid across all products including sale. Excludes shipping. Special deals on the day itself.

botemp · 23/11/2016 18:50

Also, found some new Vit C contenders. This blog post compared the PC's booster (not all that complimentary, well it stopped being a contender for me when it was described to have a 'wet hot dog' smell).

I like the look of the Ausceuticals one mentioned which also boasts Sea Kelp ferment as the second ingredient and you should all know how obsessive I am about all things Kelp at the moment, 20% L-AA and a pH of 2.7 in a pump so it sounds very promising. Need to figure out how much it would cost to get shipped here though, but it's nice for the AUS lurkers to get their hands on something semi-affordable for a change Smile.

AuroraPolaris · 24/11/2016 11:18

Following the HAIRY TURKEY post GrinI had a look at Deciem's Insta account and found a lot of useful info regarding TO products including Vit C and the powdery/ peeling feeling we've been discussing. I haven't had any further issues with it, mind you, and as I said use it AM right after cleanse and wait about a minute before continuing.

Somewhere I have clearly missed the memo that hairy turkeys monkeys are a Deciem thing... they even sign off with the damn things Confused.

I think it's become quite obvious now that the Vit C 23% isn't all that great to layer with. I don't use much in the AM so it's actually best suited there but I have noticed the tingling has intensified lately so either it or something else in my routine is making me more sensitive.

The Ausceuticals Vit C that looks so promising appears not to be sold outside of AU Sad. I shall just have to keep looking but think I'll be buying the SC Vit C sample set next too.

Dulcimena · 24/11/2016 11:56

Re the Vit C suspension, yes that's the only way I could make it work Aurora - use on bare skin, apply nothing but s/s afterwards. I'm not really using it now tbh, it's too much hassle and the packaging sucks. I've pretty much abandoned this and the 10% lactic.

Quick update on the other bits I have been using:
TO Buffet - still like this a lot for hydration, not sure that it's doing anything else though. Started introducing it around 6 weeks I think? Using it twice a day, have got through around half of the bottle.

TO 2% retinoid. Do like this. Skin has been SO MUCH clearer around TOTM since I started using it - again about 6 weeks ago. Using this on alternate nights, after Buffet and before HL HA serum.

P50W - using alternate nights seems to work well. This with the retinoid and added hydration I think is doing some magic to my skin! I didn't dilute it at the start, but my skin's ok with AHAs (can't use BHA but that's another story). The recommended Muji pads are excellent too - ty bo.

Holy Snails Shark Sauce. Hmm. I wanted to love this but I don't think it loves me. Whenever I've used it overnight, the next day I have an odd blemish, somewhere. Maybe the kelp? There's nothing else in there I know I have problems with. Glad I ordered a sample first. I also ordered a sample of the Snail Water so I'll try that next.

Benton Snail Bee Steam Cream - this is winner! Love it. Great hydration, lovely texture, suitably bland, no irritation or adverse effects whatsoever. TYVM Botemp for this rec.

In other news, not really tempted by the beauty BF deals, I may get an Ilia l/s from Content or Naturismo, but that is it...

hollinhurst84 · 24/11/2016 12:55

I got distracted from skincare and ordered lipsticks Blush

botemp · 24/11/2016 13:06

Glad to hear things are working out well for you Dulci, it's always good to see another P50 enthusiast Grin. I'm still waiting on my Benton SC, the Koreans seem to be taking forever this time.

It appears everything I'm interested in is out of stock or unavailable... I might just go and voluntarily get distracted by lipsticks, sounds like a good plan. Have been eyeing the new Dior lippies recently, might just take the plunge...

hollinhurst84 · 24/11/2016 13:10

Colourpop had 24hrs free international shipping so I bought this set, and this individual one

Never heard of them, hollin - where are they from?

I ordered a Kosas l/s yesterday and I think an Ilia one this evening, and I'm debating whether or not I really need a By Terry one. Odds are I don't tbh, but you know how it is...

AuroraPolaris · 24/11/2016 15:24

Well I've been distracted by NARS blushes Wink and have got Deep Throat in my LookFantastic shopping bag, as well as a few "regulars" like TW Deep Sleep Spray, Serozinc 50ml (so cute!) and my usual Yes To Carrots conditioner.
