What's your 'everyday' lipstick shade?

I normally wear Mac Russian Red or Ruby Woo, but only for nights out. I find it too much effort during the day.

I've been after a more subtle everyday lipstick to lift my look a bit...I need to feel more polished than I do at the moment.

I know shade depends on skin tone and hair colour, but interested to see what the S&B board considers a good starting point. I'm blonde and fair.

TIA

My new favourite is this, even though its matte it doesn't dry my lips out, I love it! It was an impulse buy so I am chuffed, the shade I have is Kiss

MAC - velvet teddy or spirit. Both easy shades!
The kylie lip kits have been on my lips a lot lately, purely because they last all day without touch ups.

ohidoliketobe · 24/08/2016 16:48

I like Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Rose Tea
m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?path=%2Fen%2F_4472%2F&colId=Rose_Tea_Creme&unCountry=uk
Find it very close to my natural colour, long lasting and moisturising.

whensitmyturn · 24/08/2016 16:49

Brave by Mac a lovely pink and just suits my also blonde/fair colouring too.

Catdogcat · 24/08/2016 16:56

I wear Mac twig or Charlotte tilbury Bond girl.

Both look 'your lips but better' on me. Similar colours but twig is satin finish and Bond girl is matte.

I'm fair with dark hair and blue eyes so might not be the right shades for different colouring.

jellymum1704 · 24/08/2016 16:57

Nude rose by Bobbi Brown, goes with everything

Swishtails · 24/08/2016 17:05

Fantastic. Thanks all. Once DS in bed tonight I will be googling these and trying some tomorrow.

Mac honey love !!
It's like velvet teddy but lighter looks so nice on pale skin, lasts so long too Smile

Mac Twig

RainbowDashian · 24/08/2016 17:15

I don't wear make up everyday but when I can be arsed I like Maybelline colour drama in nude perfection. It's cheap but seems to last well and is a chubby pencil so I can just colour my lips in. Might not be quite what you're looking for though!

puglife15 · 24/08/2016 17:30

Nars Dolce Vita.

Like your lips but better.

It's slightly sheer, so easy to wear and feels lovely on.

I've got the same colouring as you and it's the only lipstick I've ever repurchased (well since the days of Heather Shimmer ;) )

TroysMammy · 24/08/2016 17:31

Rimmel Amethyst Shimmer.

puglife15 · 24/08/2016 17:32

Just to clarify the sheer lipstick version.

I also like Laura Mercier baby lips, and Clinique Chubby Stick in ten ton tomato which is a sheer bright red.

JackandDiane · 24/08/2016 17:36

oh god dont be subtle
I wear lipstick to match my clothes, not my lips - how dull! Like being made up in a morgue

Jaimx86 · 24/08/2016 17:37

Dior Addict Lip Glow is great for the day time.
I'm blonde and fair too. This makes your lips look dewy and adds a hint of colour without making you look made up.

What's your 'everyday' lipstick shade?
PopadomPointer · 24/08/2016 17:38

I find that my lips dry out no matter which brand of lipstick I wear...so my alternative is a tinted lip balm (currently Burts bees)

puppydogmummy · 24/08/2016 17:38

puglife15Heather shimmer! First lipstick I ever bought, followed by black cherry. Brings back memories!!!!

MadisonAvenue · 24/08/2016 17:42

Mac Vegas Volt, I blot it down a lot so it's not quite so bright for daytime. I also like Velvet Teddy but use that more during Autumn and Winter.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/08/2016 17:44

I have a Burt's Bees tinted lipbalm and a MUA £1 lipstick in a certain shade (which I have currently forgotten the name of) in various regularly used handbags, as well as on my dressing table.

I also like the No 7 ones now.

KanyesVest · 24/08/2016 17:52

I've been wearing a Rommel lipgloss called snog for about 15 years after I was handed it for a touch up when I was a bridesmaid and couldn't find my own bag where my insanely expensive Dior something or other was hiding. I have 4/5 tubes on the go in various pockets and bags.

lurkingfromhome · 24/08/2016 18:02

Mac Syrup or Mehr

ontherightpath · 24/08/2016 18:11

Another Rimmel Amethyst Shimmer here. Great for pale skin that is cool/pink toned.

seahorse106 · 24/08/2016 18:20

Rimmell Heather shimmer, love it and it's still my fave lipstick even though I have about 20

FlumptyDumpty · 24/08/2016 18:21

Laura Mercier Baby Lips

Liz Earle Heather

Blue-eyed and fair, but with dark hair. Both shades make the blue of my eyes look much more intense. Heather also makes teeth look much whiter (though baby lips doesn't make them look yellow). Both great everyday shades. Very flattering.

Cocolepew · 24/08/2016 18:22

Kate for Rimmel no. 3
