What's your 'everyday' lipstick shade?

I normally wear Mac Russian Red or Ruby Woo, but only for nights out. I find it too much effort during the day.

I've been after a more subtle everyday lipstick to lift my look a bit...I need to feel more polished than I do at the moment.

I know shade depends on skin tone and hair colour, but interested to see what the S&B board considers a good starting point. I'm blonde and fair.

TIA

Red all the time for me, with the occasional hot pink. Favourite reds are Mac Scarlet Starlet, Nars Carmen and YSL No 1 at the moment, favourite pinks Nars Luxembourg, Mac Girl About Town. I have hundreds though. I don't do much in terms of eye makeup, and nude lipstick makes me look like a corpse.

NattyGolfJerkin · 24/08/2016 21:17

Either

Dior Rouge Nudes no459 'Charnelle'
Clinique Pop lipstick in 05 'Melon Pop'
or
Nars Velvet Matt lip pencil in Dolce Vita

NattyGolfJerkin · 24/08/2016 21:20

I do love and wear bolds too but those are my 'safe' mlbb

woodhill · 24/08/2016 22:42

Clinique pink goddess or Chubby stick in strawberry

WellTidy · 24/08/2016 22:44

Estée Lauder barely nude

QuinnsNo1Lady · 24/08/2016 22:44

Mac velvet teddy, or Burts bees lip balm in fig.

divafever99 · 24/08/2016 22:48

No 7 pink lemonade. They stopped making it for a little while then it came back, so I stockpiled and have 6 in my drawer!

CointreauVersial · 24/08/2016 22:56

I have two:

Max Factor Rosewood (pinky-brown, suits a tan)
No 7 Soft Tulip (very soft pinky-red)

My lips are thin and rubbish, so "assertive" colours look bloody awful.

OttoTheOnly · 24/08/2016 23:17

Mac Modest, Brave or Twig
Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple

sconebonjovi · 24/08/2016 23:17

Mac patisserie is the easiest shade to wear ever. Also love revlon lip butters in pink truffle and fig jam

mac twig

imustbepatient · 24/08/2016 23:31

L'oreal 302, called Bois de rose I think. I have the same colouring as you as well and it is perfect on my lips and with my skin tone. It looks great if I have full make up on but also if I just throw on some lipstick, bare faced, on the way to pick up the kids etc, just to feel slightly polished.

I have one in every handbag and a few stockpiled in case they ever discontinue it. Even typing that is making me feel the need to go out and buy more...

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 24/08/2016 23:32

Another who uses Revlon pink truffle lip butter. Hate the feel of lip gloss, but feel too done up in strong colours during the day - this one is perfect for me.

ChishandFips33 · 24/08/2016 23:37

Bourjois Orange punch which is actually coral on me or proudly naked - my lips, but better

...they also do a fuschia and a couple of red tints too if you're tempted

CallarMorvern · 25/08/2016 00:40

Burt's Bees - Fig. I was a Heather Shimmer devotee for years though.

Cockblocktopus · 25/08/2016 06:37

NARS Rikugien is MLBB for me

FrannySalinger · 25/08/2016 06:53

Not a lipstick as such, but for everyday I wear Clarins lip comfort oil in honey. It's not sticky, lasts for hours, gives a nice subtle colour and has made my lips lovely and soft.

Swishtails · 25/08/2016 08:29

Blimey...so many suggestions. Thanks for all the replies. Going to test some out today.

Maybelline Honey Beige is lovely, or I wear Bourjois lip crayon in Proudly Naked, for a pretty sheen.

candykane25 · 25/08/2016 09:52

Santa Baby by Lush.

It's bright red though but makes me look awake, stains my lips so I don't have to reapply.

I winter it is Nars Cruella

QueenofLouisiana · 25/08/2016 10:50

Cien (Lidl) Matt Rose and Strawberry Red. The first is my matt favourite and the other is more dewy, but not too dramatically red.

I bought them on holiday for about 3 euros each- fabulous value.

JohnCheese · 25/08/2016 11:48

Fair, slightly sallow.
I have a few nudes:
Mac Syrup
L'Oreal Bois de Rose
Rimmel Vintage Rose

Some nudes make me look seriously unwell. Mac Faux/Twig etc all ugh on me.

Boogers · 25/08/2016 11:50

Max Factor lip gloss in pristine nude but only for special occasions. Other than that it's Nivea lip salve.

pinkieandperkie · 25/08/2016 12:09

Max factor elixir in raisin and firefly.
