Inspired by the useful thread. I bought a superdry bomber with a fluffy hood this winter. It was I think £85. It looked fab for about a month then it started shedding lining under the arms in white lumps which lin like I have some crazy disease. Then one of the Zips broke. It's going in the charity shop nah soon and I've had it about 9 months. Unimpressed!
Please guide me with what else not to waste my cash on Grin

My Saltwater sandals. I really love them, but the weather's been so crap I've worn them three times.

mailfuckoff · 19/08/2016 20:07

Pair of beautiful white shoes from eBay , just a tad to tight in the summer but not worn yet. had for a few months
My post Christmas handbag. The strap has broken on one side and I've used safety pins to keep it together for the minute

GinandTits · 19/08/2016 20:09

Yy to hair products. None work. Especially the ones that say they curl. Just leave your hair all crispy...

MrBoot · 19/08/2016 20:15

Yay to the Hush jumpsuit. I look like I've come around to fix the boiler in mine. And it creases like tissue paper!

LavenderEverywhere · 19/08/2016 20:16

A thin, white linen oversized sort of dolman sleeved top from a market in France. In my head it would look all floaty and light and I would layer it elegantly over a vest or camisole and it would slip off one shoulder with an air of summery French insouciance. I am a size 14 and as French clothes tend to be cut small I bought the extra large without trying it on. It looked like the kind of thing that needed to be big to drape right.

It's way too big and makes me look like a frumpy, lumpy sack of spuds. There is zero summery insouciance going on at all. Hmm

A bloody set of benefit make up in a tin in the sale from boots after xmas. I didnt open the dame thing to check the contents and the bloody thing had 2 things missing when I just gave it to dd2 for her 21st aw bless her she was so disappointed it was the pore professional and the you're mascara missing her faves!!! too bloody late to complain to boots.but that will teach me to check!!!

pasturesgreen · 19/08/2016 20:17

Pair of gorgeous LK Bennett patent leather heels I got on ebay. They're my usual size but torturously tight and hideously uncomfortable.
Have never worn them outside the house. Think I'll have to ebay them again. Pity as I quite like them.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 19/08/2016 20:23

Bare Minerals foundation - I just don't get on with it, I just look caked and powdery in it. I thought it was me just being crap, but got the sales person at the counter to apply it and it was just as awful. Sad

absolutelynotfabulous · 19/08/2016 20:25

A drapey mac from Matalan. I got it for an interview. I'll never wear it again, the sleeves are too tight and the colour (khaki) is depressing.

Flugelpip · 19/08/2016 20:28

A pair of Mint Velvet sandals that I thought I'd wear for smart summer occasions. On hot days my feet swell up so they don't fit. I haven't worn them and now I hate them.

hollieberrie · 19/08/2016 20:32

A pair of Havaianas for me too. I've had the Hav Slims before, no problem, very comfy.
Bought some of the regular black ones with the flag on, in my size. They fucking massacred my feet. Only wore them a couple of times then gave up. They hurt even just walking around the garden. I sold 'em on eBay for £6. Grrr..

Hassled · 19/08/2016 20:35

Some Birkenstocks. I usually love them - these ones have straps across the foot and they're scratchy and ugly and a big expensive mistake.

I also bought a yellow T shirt with cut out shoulders in the Sainsbury's sale. I'm 50, FGS - what was I thinking?

galaxygirl45 · 19/08/2016 20:42

I'm slowly losing weight as I was recently diagnosed as diabetic, and am at the horrid inbetween stage where my clothes still fit but look a bit baggy. I don't want to buy more until at least 2 sizes smaller to make it worthwhile so thought I'd get a few bits on ebay to tide me over. I spent a stupid amount of money on a Monsoon dress that is so badly faded you can barely see what colour it originally was. Out of 7 tops I bought, only 1 is wearable (1 top was so badly split all around the bust seams, I queried if they had sent the right top as it was listed as barely worn....). Never ever ever again, I'd have chucked the lot and bypassed the recycling bin as they were so bad. Grrrr. Some people clearly have no standards of what they find acceptable to sell............

MissPattie · 19/08/2016 20:54

Boden cashmere.

I know people love them on here, but it bobbles far to easily

ILoveDolly · 19/08/2016 20:59

I've had a few dud purchases this year. Always due to being a skin flint and shopping by price....
Pair of canvas shoes my usual size on sale in ShoE Express that seem to be at least 1.5 sizes too small
And also off topic: Book on Japanese Gardening off Amazon that was a fiver. However it was so bad, like a book high school kids might have done for a project. Sooo annoyed. Luckily i enjoy writing Amazon reviews so I wasn't 100% unhappy

AwkwardSquad · 19/08/2016 21:20

Doyouthinktheysaurus yes me too with the Clarks pewter narrow fit brogues! They fit beautifully but the leather is so stiff, they're really uncomfortable after about half an hour. So disappointing.

TomDaleysTightTrunks · 19/08/2016 21:27

I have a pair of Victoria Plimsolls, I love them, they are so comfortable but now falling apart but instead of buying some more I bought cheap New Look ones. They kill my big toes so I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and spend £35 on new plimsolls that actually fit.
Also, ReCover Cosmetics Concealer. I read tons of reviews, watched the videos telling me how to apply it. It's shit. I hate it. I've used it twice but can't bring myself to throw it away as it was £28 or thereabouts.
I've since bought the Kalme Chameleon one instead and that's fab.

MrBoot · 19/08/2016 22:30

A blue loose top from Topshop. Unfortunately it is the same colour as a nurse's uniform and the same style as a nail technician. It went off in the charity bag.

Superga canvas white trainers which have rave reviews looked like they £10 in New Look.

A red pattern dress from Other Stories described as a midi turned out to be a long floaty number and I looked like I was wearing a nightdress for the elderly as daywear.

RandomRedhead · 19/08/2016 22:33

One of those hairbrush straighteners! Pulls out so much of my hair and I still look like I have been fighting with a bush!

Daft things is I have a decent set of normal straighteners! Moment of madness!

IDismyname · 19/08/2016 23:47

A pair of Beautiful looking silver Fit Flop Flip flops. I cannot keep the ruddy things on my feet. I manage about 10 steps, and then my foot and flip flop part company.

I cannot understand how people walk in them.

Back to Ebay, unless I have any takers here for a 6.5 size??

GinBunny · 20/08/2016 00:05

I got a gorgeous pair of sandals from Aldo. Beautiful to look at and so so comfy in the shop. Got them home, scratchy as fuck.
Got a lovely pair of sandals from M&S. Wore them for 2 months no probs before they gave me blisters so bad on the back of my heels that they bled.
I'm back in my Birkenstocks but after a couple of years they smell soooo bad!!!

Rollerbird · 20/08/2016 00:46

Ishouldcocoa do you have a picture?
I would probably be interested. How much?

Unicorn1981 · 20/08/2016 13:51

You know you can return broken bags, shoes etc. I bought dd some Clarks trainers that started coming undone after one day. By three weeks later there was a huge hole. I exchanged them for some different ones. Bought a jasper conran bag from debenhams last Xmas. By summer the fastener had broken. No receipt but still got a gift card from them with a full refund on it.

mumchkin · 20/08/2016 13:59

St Tropez in shower self tan. Utter faff to apply, have to wait 3 minutes for it to work, wet and shivering and then NO colour change at all for my trouble. Doubly annoying because of all the (paid) rave reviews when it came out.

Heathen4Hire · 20/08/2016 14:05

Husband bought a rubbish bin with "non-touch" battery operated lid. It lasted three months. He bought it from Groupon. Even with new batteries it wouldn't work. I think it cost him £30. Groupon claimed it retailed at £100 Hmm.
