Inspired by the useful thread. I bought a superdry bomber with a fluffy hood this winter. It was I think £85. It looked fab for about a month then it started shedding lining under the arms in white lumps which lin like I have some crazy disease. Then one of the Zips broke. It's going in the charity shop nah soon and I've had it about 9 months. Unimpressed!
Please guide me with what else not to waste my cash on Grin

A bikini with slow slung bottoms. The top fits well but I'm too fat & too old to wear skimpy bikini pants.
My mate told me smaller ones would make my wobbly arse look better. She was wrong.

thenightsky · 09/08/2016 22:35

cool i was gutted. Everyone on MN was doing peeling thing around that time Sad

Other worse buys have been anything from Pepperberry.

AverysillyoldHector · 09/08/2016 22:36

Dior Star foundation. Patchy, thick and horrible on my skin, then just came off. It gave me enormous pores - I havent ever had noticable pores in my life before. Never again.

CoolToned · 09/08/2016 22:39

thenightsky - it's Winter where I am, and I'm not using it now. I have a tendency to develop seborrheic dermatits when cold. Maybe try lactic acid? It might suit your skin better.

Destinysdaughter · 09/08/2016 22:58

Don't dump your cosmetics and hair products! If you haven't used them much, donate to a women's refuge, women often turn up with literally nothing.

Fuckoffdailymailyoufuckers · 09/08/2016 23:07

I love glycolic. Pixie glow peel pads are magic on my face and make me look all dewey and young.

joangray38 · 10/08/2016 01:43

Charlotte tilsbury Magic foundation. Only thing magic about it was that it magnified pores into craters on my face!

Trashbox · 10/08/2016 02:07

That £10 M&S beauty box everyone was raving on about on here! Angry

slinkysaluki · 10/08/2016 04:44

Lots of bad eBay purchases, if I add them all up I could have bought one really lovely item of clothing, most of it ended up at the charity shop Hmm

WhisperingLoudly · 10/08/2016 07:35

Numerous hair products. And foundations.

Boden ravello tops - the hems are so narrow that they've frayed in multiple areas. Poor for a £50 top

EmpressTomatoKetchup · 10/08/2016 08:36

A pair of red trousers. They are RED I tell you. RED.

joangray38 yes yes. I thought I was alone! Spent more than I ever had on foundation and not even used a quarter in a year! It is better if I apply 2 layers but who can wait to try ?
I still didn't learn and spent another fortune on CT products for my birthday. Not sure if I can recommend much from that brand except packaging!

Buttwing · 10/08/2016 14:02

Harem pants.

I'm very short bodied with 32g norks. I have nice long slim legs (the only decent bit of me) and I decided to cover them with big baggy trousers that me look like a weeble that had shit itself.
Not my finest look.

Liiinoo · 10/08/2016 14:18

A handkerchief hem short flowery linen dress with a white linen tunic over shirt. Looked lovely in the shop but I am at least 15 years too old to wear anything that short and floaty in public and dear DDs at least 15 years too young for anything so mumsy looking.

Tigerbear · 18/08/2016 23:39

Everything I bought from Hush - my first and last order with them. Awful quality for the price - a linen
Tshirt that I realised had a hole in it, after taking the tags off. A jumpsuit that creases to fuck, and two tops with gaping, unflattering necklines, all baggy and shapeless. Seriously unimpressed.

puglife15 · 19/08/2016 02:53

A top from Wallis. The shape was fairly flattering and it was in the sale so I kept it, but it's got one of those necklines with a bit of material folded in that shouldn't be showing but is. Looks messy and fabric in hindsight is hideous. Error.

BathshuaSpooner · 19/08/2016 03:10

All of mine are make up related. The YSL mascara that made my eyes burn and itch, then swell shut the next day, the Guerlain BB cream which gave me both dry and oily zones on my face, the very odd brownish red lipstick from Shiseido. I just need to stop buying makeup online and start actually going into shops to try before buying. Sadly, I am very lazy.

Is there a Best Buy thread like this?

MardAsSnails · 19/08/2016 05:33

I bought a top from Asod. Long sleeved, looked like it hung nicely on the pics. Didn't read the material.

It arrived. It's the kind of material 90s fruit of the loom jumpers were, and it's the size of a tent. I know it's supposed to have a wide neck to sit kind of off shoulder, but this thing is around 6 inches wider than any other item in my wardrobe. It's hideous.

As I'm overseas, sending it back isn't really an option. At least I have something to wear for decorating.

MardAsSnails · 19/08/2016 05:33

Asos. Not Asod. Although the top is a sod.

Kennington · 19/08/2016 05:54

Agree: foundation
I also used glycolic now and just concealer.
Foundation won't look good in all lights anyway. I now Liz what I have left down 80 percent moisturiser 20 percent foundation, just to tint my skin a little. I bought several and they were all just ok.

lasttimeround · 19/08/2016 07:22

White h&m shirt dress. Saw it in the papers and on blogs loved it. Tried it on and liked it. Worn once - various people thought I was wearing a lab coat. It's cotton but somehow not nice cotton. Don't know what to do with it. Dye or donate

SillySongsWithLarry · 19/08/2016 07:33

Skechers go walks. They are so comfy but lasted 6 weeks before they wore out and got holes in the soles and toe.

PeepshowPeg · 19/08/2016 07:42

A pair of Camper ballet flats. They're really pretty and unusual but hideously uncomfortable.
I've worn them and they now live in the depths of my wardrobe.
