Sorry,MI, holiday! Couldn't remember if I had seen a westerly destination on here or on FB or had imagined it so was being cryptic!

Ouch Crem - are they growing a sample so you can get the right abs?

motherinferior · 28/07/2016 12:40

Cork.

Lovely!

Dreamqueen · 28/07/2016 13:11

I love Mr Toad too!
I'm still lurking here & trying to keep up with the very fast moving thread.

Hope you enjoy Cork MI I grew up there.

wordassociationfootball · 28/07/2016 13:20

Have a fun MU , girls.

Rose, I too was very moved by that thing wot you said to your DC.

BTM, I have grinned repeatedly at DD 'coming in quietly, then honking up noisily.'

Herbs, that sounds tricky, hope it's easy for DP to decide and that it does involve Italy and it all works out.

Crem - wishes for complete betterness.

Strops, thank the lord for Jesus Grin .

Which reminds me, I took DH to Book of Mormon. Was great to see it again. He and I are close and happy again. He puts his mood earlier in the year (short-tempered, selfish, messy) down to getting too high from his anti ds. He's totally off them now and smells so much better.

In DC news, DD1 has gone off for her first date. South Bank with the boy she met near Stropps neck of the woods last week. It's all very adorable and he sounds a delight and she is totally herself and happy. Can't wait to see her photos.

Hatty I am utterly heartened that dd passed that test. It made me so furious that maths/science bod biz. Bloody well done her.

Beachy, your dd sounds like a sweetheart. Glad her mate is on the mend.

In 'embarrassing things I have put into search engines.' my confession today is 'waking myself up farting.'

Lalsy, I'm off to that dragon land seaside town we both love on Saturday.

CV the pic of your girls hair and the lavander was dreamy.

Mrs S, you so deserve that hol.

Lalsy · 28/07/2016 13:27

We're off there (bit further west), soon, WAF! Can't wait, despite "unsettled weather" forecast. Good to hear about you and your dh.

Cremolafoam · 28/07/2016 13:28

hi DQ , I didn't know you were from Ireland. Hooray!

ANOTHER course of different anti-biotics to make sure . I'll be crawling onto the plane at this rate.
Its e-coli apparently ( 'a touch of e-coli' she said) and should pass on its own and is very common. Probably off a rocket leaf I ate or something.

motherinferior · 28/07/2016 13:43

Oh god, Crem, how very horrid.

I have asked my father to sub my India trip. He was willing to do so. I feel a bit spoiled and entitled but I really do need to go. And it isn't actually that pricey to go, certainly if you fly via the Middle East and wander round Bahrain airport at 2am.

I am looking at serviceable shoes in variable degrees of repulsiveness. It is most wearing. Any views on these?

OP posts:
Lalsy · 28/07/2016 15:26

I think those are nice, MI. I have these which are also very light - I wear them with supportive insoles but I need them with most shoes. My expensive German sandals are called Finn Comfort. these are the super-cheap uglyish boys' sandals that are also very comfy and going strong, one year on.

hattymattie · 28/07/2016 17:03

I got these in the sale at Geox - they are weird but feel fab on my feet and I didnt even have to wear them in.

hattymattie · 28/07/2016 17:13

Have moved onto computer for a longer post. Crem - I do hope they sort out your kidneys soon - it sounds miserable.

Beachy - glad the girls have got sorted - such a relief.

WAF - glad things are looking up for you and DH and thanks for the kind comments about DD1 - not sure that she passed the test as she didn't finish but it seems that they haven't held it against her.

My lot seem to all be home today, lolling around on computers - I delegated cooking tonight to DD1 and nice smells and bad music are drifting from the kitchen.

I'm very jealous of your mini meet up. I'm had a nice coffee with a friend this morning and we had a friend for dinner last night who'd just driven over from the UK - having postponed from the Saturday madness. At the moment nearly everybody is away so I have to grab people when I can!

florascotianew · 28/07/2016 17:16

Many, many thanks to so many Crepeys who have sent welcome messages. And spectacle suggestions. That is so kind.
Am snowed under with work right now - as so many other Crepeys seem to be - deadline is next week. So I might disappear for a bit, but I hope to come back before too long.
Best wishes to all.

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2016 17:50

Hatty, I can't find your post saying your DD1 passed the test, but well done her - what stage of job poss is she at now?

WAF, glad to hear all is good with your DH.

Cremo, I hope you come right asap and that there are no lurgies en France.

We are back home (I drive so much faster than DH!) and DD was lovely the whole trip - we didn't fall out once and had lots of lovely long chatsSmile Which is just as well as it was very depressing seeing DM and not being able to really do anything about it Sad We also have yet more stuff (only useful stuff though!) from her house, including her old TV that DD has bagsied for her room and the 1956 (though not 50's high fashion!) dinner service my fathers best mate gave them for a wedding present, all still in top condition.

hattymattie · 28/07/2016 18:09

BTM - final round assessment centre in a couple of weeks. She'll be wearing tights Wink. Sorry to hear about your DM. It's so nice though when the DD's (and DS's) get a bit older and you can talk things through with them,

Crem - When are you leaving?

motherinferior · 28/07/2016 18:10

My dad has just given my sister and me a chunk of moneyShockShockI also now feel v guilty about asking him for some but I meant a couple of hundred for an India ticket BlushShock

He is quite well off and in all honesty would probably have spent this money on holiday with my mum in the past 18 months if she hadn't been ill.

I'm going to open a Travel Account and will start thinking about next summer.

Dreamqueen · 28/07/2016 18:13

Thanks Cremo hope you're on the mend soon. Did you see in the papers that e coli was being caused by bagged saleds from supermarket. Have you had any?

Love those shoes MI they look v comfy & trendy in an anti way. since I broke my foot, I only wear flats, trainers or new balance & have found that as long as the rest of my outfit is bold / not wishy washy, it looks like its a fashion statement rather than a medical one Smile

nice sandals Hattie

Hi Flora I love that glasses shop but recently have bought some online from TK Maxx and had my prescription fitted into them. was pleased to get designer frames for less than dinner out .

Cremolafoam · 28/07/2016 18:41

Yes to bagged salad. And no I didn't put it through the salad spinner. Could be,but Dh is convinced it was the funeral food a couple of weeks ago, which had been set out in a warm church hall. More likely a customer spread it to me. I am in contact with scores of people every day and everyone knows the General Public are Filthy.Grin
Thanks everyone for your concern. I will be fine.Smile

Hatty I will be at Galléries Lafayette, if It kills me. We must have our own mini-meetup.

Local news is saying we in NI have half the average disposable income of the rest of the U.K. . No shit Sherlock.

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2016 18:48

MI, how lovely of your DDad. It's great that he has thought of you and your sister - I'm sure you will make good use of it.

Meant to say, good on your DD1 Beachy - great that she is seeing the positives - it will take her far in lifeSmile

Hope the MU went well!

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2016 18:49

Cremo, half the disposable income? Shock

Cremolafoam · 28/07/2016 18:51

Half , yes.

MI lend us a£10 will ya ?Grin

herbaceous · 28/07/2016 18:55

Mini MU was lovely! GGG took the slightly uppity staff firmly in her steely gaze, and we enjoyed a delicious repast. Well, us crepeys did. DS turns up his nose at the 'stuff' on the salads, such as herbs. I left Rose and GGG happily conversing while I went on to my next child-based assignation.

Milky bars are on MI.

hattymattie · 28/07/2016 19:07

MI - fab gift - family tour of India next year?

Crem - Shock at statistic on NI.

Glad the MU was a success. GGG obviously has cloutSmile

magimedi · 28/07/2016 19:16

MI - don't feel guilty.

We help out DS & DDIL as much as we can - why should they wait until we are dead to enjoy it? It gives me great pleasure to help them, life is much tougher for them (mid 30's) than it was for us when we were that age.

Be sure to spend some of that £SD on you - bugger off to India tout seul - it will do you a power of good.
