dita I saw your new tatt on Insta and ❤️'d it, it's v.nice Smile .
I wasn't sure if you were going to put it on here so didn't say anything sooner.
How do you feel knowing your student nurse days are done? Excited?

Hope everyone's ok xx

ditavonteesed · 03/09/2016 12:26

I am so excited, it's a bit weird as the last 2 years have been so intense and now I have essentially 2 months off, we are in uni but not much. I want to get back into being a good mum and sorting the house out and baking, that kind of thing. My tattoo is booked for the 21st and I am can;t wait although a bit nervous about getting my feet touched up.

Nacho so glad the massage helped and your on the mend :) slow and steady wins the race.
I was also wondering about getting a tiny sparkly heart on my ring finger instead of wearing my wedding ring what do you think? tacky or cute? I would ask Keeley Rutherford to do it while I am down in the big smoke.

so it's mega tattoo weekend in this house, dh getting a big one tomorrow and I am now getting new on sunday due to the fact that the lovely apprentice keeps drawing amazing things and is trying her hardest to part me from all my money.

Also got my Sam Whitehead in 2 weeks and then London 15th October.

I think that will then be me done.

Anyone else got anything new?

I take my hat off to you for studying when you have kids, it's a real achievement.
I actually like the idea of a tiny wedding finger heart Smile I want to have a tiny crown on the outside of my wrist, I'm not sure if I should go to my guy or find someone closer.
V.exciting that both you and DH are going in today, what design did you pick? Is it one of the ones she out on Insta as up for grabs? Can't believe you still have two more to go after today!

ThatIsNachoCheese · 09/09/2016 11:46

Oh I really like the wedding ring heart tattoo idea Dita, and so excited for you for today. Please come and show us when you've had them!
I'm still not able to sit (starting to get me down now) so can't get to my consultation, will as soon as I can so I can either extend my shoulder one or get a back mandala. Also thinking of a negative space dotwork crescent moon on my wrist to match my sun on the other wrist, and a small sea shell on my ankle.
Lots of ideas and no ability to make it real yet!

ThatIsNachoCheese · 09/09/2016 11:47

Not for today sorry, didn't read that properly! Who is doing yours on Sunday?

doctorboo · 09/09/2016 16:13

Oh nacho gentle hugs from me, how frustrating for you.

ThatIsNachoCheese · 09/09/2016 16:41

Thank you Doctor Flowers I've just had a massage which unfortunately didn't help and was incredibly painful. Tomorrow will be a better day!

NoFucksImAQueen · 09/09/2016 18:49

Aw I love a good tattoo appreciation thread. My dh is a tattoo artist so we're very pro tattoo in this house obviously. I'm still waiting on him to finish my arm though cause he's always so busy tattooing everyone else because they pay and shit

This is the top part of my arm so far. I still need all the rest of the background sky, clouds and some stars putting in plus another animal.

Nacho I really hope you are feeling a bit better today :(.
NoF omg I am so jealous. Your arm is very pretty. I went out with uni friends last night and they said I might have a problem, I said I will only have a problem when I have run out of skin (luckily funds will keep the addiction under control). I have found that I now like bits of myself that I have hated most of my life.

DH is getting the parrot cocktail thingemy on his leg, which he shaved last night which is weird.
I am getting a lost boys themed traditional type picture, on my arm I think. Although I was saving my arm for poison ivy and harley quinn but I have no idea if I will even ever get round to that.

It is between arm and thigh. hmmm.

Aw thanks dita. Yes X 100 to your comment about loving bits of my body now I previously hated. If you'd asked me even a few years ago if I'd ever have a full sleeve I'd have said hell no but now I do and I love it.
I used to hate all my tattoos, all spur of the moment unplanned, no thought tattoos. Slowly they are all being covered with things I love and it's such a confidence boost.

I love the idea of a lost boys tattoo. I actually like batman more than Peter Pan but I think that Peter Pan is more of a classic timeless piece in terms of for a tattoo.
Iv surprised myself thinking this as I love Disney but usually I'm not big on Disney tattoos. Sorry I'm waffling
What style will you go for?

NoFucksImAQueen · 10/09/2016 17:41

Just read you already said traditional. I think that will l

NoFucksImAQueen · 10/09/2016 17:42

Look amazing

ditavonteesed · 10/09/2016 17:50

lost boys dodgy 80's vampires rather than peter pan Blush I'm don;t really like disney but all the tattoos I have seen on people recently disney based are actually really good. think it might be based on the artists I follow. DH is on his way home now, can;t wait to see his.

I was very similar in lots of little tattoos that don;t go and have no thought behind them, rather than covering I am trying to link stuff together. I do love how my leg is coming together. I seem to have top half traditional, bottom half cute.

Nofucks, how awesome to have a tattoo artist for a DH! Your arm looks great.
Doing a bit better today thanks Dita , I woke up with less pain.
I've been showing my dh more tattoos in an attempt to bring him round, he loves them and thinks they're really sexy but my previous reaction puts him off Blush
Please show us your DH's new addition Dita Smile

Youvegottobekidding · 10/09/2016 20:43

So glad I came across this thread! I have a tattoo, that I've fallen out of love with, had it done as a cover up about 20 years ago (gosh I feel old now!) It's medium to large, on the top of my arm, very very faded. For the best part of 15 years, I've done my best to hide it, as you can imagine what that does to your confidence.

For the last 18 months I've been toying with the idea of a cover up - although I know I'm limited to what colours I can have etc - I have thought about laser removal, but too costly. Cover ups - do they always have to be so much bigger?

I've googled quite a few designs that I like, ranging from Mandela to floral, again it just depends on what can be done. I just hate what I have right now. It looks like a dark blue spider, the detail is all blurred now.

What do we think?

Blush Oh god I'm such a geek aren't I! You're on about a super cool rock band and I'm thinking Disney haha,

Yeah it's pretty handy nacho, it's saved me a small fortune. Wish he could do diy though but you can't have it all.

You I asked dh and he said no to mandala, it would show as there's too open space.
He said possibly a gathering of roses, a dragon, a koi or something with scales and in colour.
Your best bet would be to ask around at various places and get ideas. Every artist thinks differently so you may get some different ideas. I know in the past dh has done cover ups that his boss said wouldn't work and they have.
I used to hate the one on my arm, it made me so self conscious so I feel your pain.

ditavonteesed · 11/09/2016 18:05

trouble posting this, will try again. my new one, will post dh's later as it seemed to be struggling to post more than one picture.

Dita, I love it! Lost boys is an awesome film, excellent choice Grin
Youve you should definitely get it covered if you are that unhappy, how about a colourful flower cover up? You could have a look on pinterest for ideas, I did a quick Google and quite like this one:

Meant to add, I don't see why they have to be lots bigger, I'm always amazed at tattoo fixers when they do a huge cover up on a teeny little one.

PeachGoddess · 12/09/2016 18:25

Hi all :)

Loving the new tattoo dita and congrats on finishing! Soon you'll be searching yourself on the register!

My next tattoo is booked for the 30th. I'm going for a cupcake on the back of each thigh and then an anchor on my wrist (tiny)

NoFucksImAQueen · 12/09/2016 18:37

Lovely tattoo dita

Youvegottobekidding · 13/09/2016 10:55

Thanks Queen for the advice....Nacho, that is a real peice of art, however, work wise I can't be showing any tattoos & when it's hot, I'm wearing t-shirts, blouses, my tattoo is just about hidden with shorter sleeves, so I'm getting away with it with my tattoo being the size it is now, any bigger & I'd be buggered I think. I realise I'd have to go a step bigger but hopefully not too far down, iukwim?

I quite like these, as in design & colours but don't know if they are realistic as covering what I have, yes some would have to be bigger/smaller or darker, but what does people think?

I like these as well, but I know the cat & wolf would work as a cover, shame though.

Oh I completely understand Youve, I think it's definitely worth going to see an artist to see what they think.
That last mandala was done by the same artist who did mine Grin
