This (and the previous 2) thread has inspired me to have my first and 2nd, 3rd and 4th tattoos.

I am planning to have the New York skyline on the arch of one foot, 'not all those who wander are lost' on the arch of the other, a 'cute' Gandalf on one thigh and a New York one on the other thigh.

I am slightly scared about the ones on my feet as I have heard that feet are painful places to have tattoos, will it make a difference that they are going on the arches?

And does anyone know a good tattooist in the South East/Portsmouth area? I plan to book in with Keely Rutherford for my 2 thigh tattoos, but I figured the 2 feet tattoos could be done by any 'good' tattooist.

I've been tattooed by Keely, she's lovely. Travelled from Leeds to London for it (pre-child!).

one when you say arch do you mean on the inside? I'd have a good think about placement, where your shoes sit etc, as foot tattoos on the side are notorious for fading.

oneburgerofham · 17/07/2016 15:19

Oh right, I never thought of that! It's going to be pure black, would that take longer to fade? I'd have it on the top, but I'm scared of the pain! Blush

I had a foot tattoo almost 10 years ago and it is still going fairly strong. Yes a little faded but no more so than if it had been elsewhere.
I think placement makes a big difference because shoes can rub off the layers of skin aging it much quicker.
It was a sore one, by the toe in particular but not too bad.

eggs which gym do you go to? I've just joined one and I am crapping myself about going (I'm such a fatty :()

Ladies, I didn't realise we had moved over here and I was pining for you. Grin

Welcome to newbies.

Someone was asking about tattooists in Manchester... Beau at Blue Cardinal is amazing. She did my thigh piece. The studio is in a bit of a random location hat I can't remember the name of, but it's easy enough to get to. There are a couple of other amazing artists there too but I don't have anything from them.

My dove has healed amazingly! No bleeding, no itching, no bother... And I've hardly looked after it (oops).

Also there seems to be a few of us in the Leeds type area!

Bluebelle its Pure Gym I'm in, its affordable, and really there are no horrible egos. But it is best to go mid afternoon if you are able to as it is quiet then. I have to go before work and it can be quite busy. There are 2 pure gyms in City and one in Hunslet. Less that £20 a month. Don't be worried about going. People just tend to get on with their stuff, although I tend to avoid the weights area with all the big muscle men types :)

Is anyone going to Tattoo Jam? If you are, I'm going on the Sunday.

We really should have a tattoo get together..... Beau is very good at that style. She was at Leeds Expo the other week.

I've joined Pure Gym in Hunslet. I am so scared to go :( can't go mid afternoon unless DS is at childminder. I've never been to the gym on my own so I am dreading... I cancelled my class tonight because I feel so shitty. Sigh.

Where is Tattoo Jam? I've forgotten. I'd totally go.

This is my thigh by Beau. My best friend has a matching one (similar style, but hers is little mermaid... I'll see if I can find it). Beau did them both in 8 hours with no break! I do feel mine is a little less crisp than my friend's one... Maybe it's just me. She was amazing though and we watched Disney films the whole time.

Tattoo Jam is in Doncaster. First weekend in Aug and one of the biggest there is. I've heard good things about it- have u been to any events? I like them, tend to have a good atmosphere.

PG is not intimidating bit I've never done a class. I imagine you always get cliques anywhere but TBH the cheap places tend to have less of that. There are all shapes and sizes. Just avoid evenings if u don't like lots of people (cant stand that). If u can afford a PT there the one last who does that at the moment is a lovely person. I just Do my own thing, but a PT is meant to be a good idea if u r in the market for it. I wouldn't go of there was lots of nasty folk enough of them in day to day life!

PS that is lovely. She is one of the best in that genre. I think.

I don't like people, no lol I will try and avoid. I was looking at PT with that girl (Karen?) - if I can afford it I would totally do it. I'm just so bloody self conscious. Going to suck it up and go tomorrow. If you see my fat ass, come and say something nice to me so I feel less of a dick 😂 X

Bluebelle you are my sister from another mister...im not a people person either. But I know there are nice folk they just not always easy to come across! Totally know how you feel - know you are not the only one. Karen is REALLY good...believe me I don't click with many people at all. But I know I couldn't afford it myself. I will give you a shout if I see you, try and go earlier when it is quiet/not too hot outside etc etc. I know its not easy with kids though. Thats the only thing with cheaper places, no where to put little people such as a creche thing.
