ooo sweet, dove by your dove? It will look beautiful, I love watching hannahs work she has got good so quickly. I am having the milk and cookies on my seaside/family holiday leg. I have to slow down, mainly financially I would be covered otherwise, I am looking forward to when I am working and I can just chuck a few extra shifts in when I want a tattoo.

Not really close enough to pop in. He did say that that part would probably need redone once it was healed.
Its not sore or hot, Ill give a few more weeks, I don't seem to heal quickly Hmm
Thanks Smile

doctorboo - took around two hours. Fast considering the size. Yes dita, it was Harriet Heath who was great, but we didn't really chat because I could. not. talk Grin

bluebelle - it was SORE! Weirdly, different parts of my back hurt more than others, but the absolute worst bit was the lower sections nearest my waistline. Felt really, really sharp!

I have spent the last hour admiring everyone's tattoo pictures here! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this thread. I'm going to attempt to attach a photo of one of mine here (never done it before) Also if anyone has had under the knee tattooed, what's the pain like? I have an appointment next month and am very nervous!

Welcome Dinosaur 🙂 Great tattoo! Is it your only? Where did you get it done? I'm afraid I have no under the knee knowledge but someone definitely will.

Jinkx 2 hours is a-mazing and honestly such a good job.

I'm on my way to Bexleyheath to have the colour done on my shoulder blade piece - suddenly very nervous!!
I've got to ask Dor about a foot piece and wrist piece, I'm not sure how long he's booked me in for this afternoon, but I'd love to go home with a foot piece too Blush

Doctorboo - thank you! It's one of 9 but it's definitely my favourite so far. I have questionable ones that need covering up from when I was younger! I got it done in a studio called 'Electric vintage' in Bath. I've been told the under the knee one is going to be 4 hours so I'm really hoping it's not too sore a spot but I have a feeling it's going to be a painful experience.

I had to cancel my appointment today... We've got d and v. I'm so upset 😩

Hello! Please may I join in with you lovely lot?

My DP is paying for a tattoo for me as a birthday present which is very exciting. I already have a couple but can't decide what to have next. Id love some sort of tribute to my dd, but I'm not big on name tattoos. I'm really tempted to get in touch with Sarah Whitehouse and get one of her little girls but with some of my dd's features instagram.com/warahshitehouse

I saw someone up thread mention a few of you are near Leeds. I am close to Leeds and would love suggestions of some artists in the North? I can travel to Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle/North East areas. I already follow a few on Instagram but would love some more suggestions!

Leeds wise - Sam whitehead at Blind eye Donna garfoot at rude studios, Lucyblue at Cobra Club

Manchester - Beau Redman at Blue Cardinal

Other artists at these studios are also good I've just not used them. All on Instagram :)

Gawd I wish I lived up north! Lots of lovely artists!

Dragon nine, ooh nice! What are you thinking of getting next?

FelixFelix good morning and welcome! Your DH sounds lovely Smile it's definitely exciting! I love Sarah's doll work, that's a great idea.

Peach mothers are sneaky!

My DH has taken my two eldest to the park while I do a bit of easy housework. I've had a dodgy hip since having DS3 and it's been playing up since Thursday evening/Friday morning. The Co-codamol isn't touching it Angry

I had a bit of a funny turn this morning which I'm putting down to the hip pain and maybe the shit nights sleep last night. Not my best moment trying not to faint with three boys hanging off me!

It took 3.5(!!!!) hours getting the colour done. I found it really uncomfortable Blush I couldn't talk, I just tried to zone out. I almost whooped for joy when he said he'd finished!!!! I barely looked in the mirror afterwards because I was desperate to get home.
I'm not sure I can cope with my foot being done now Shock - I never thought I'd say that. If he said he couldn't/wouldn't do it after a dose of numbing cream I think I'd have to reconsider having it done.

I like foot tattoos as well doctor, but as I was lying on the table getting my back tattooed, I reconsidered it Grin Bony areas are bad, and feet are so bony...

Dinosaur1991 · 14/08/2016 19:17

Doctorboo- It looks well worth the pain though, I really like the colours.

I have my foot tattooed, however it's one of my dodgy tattoos from years ago. I found the pain odd, not all of it hurts but there would be sudden, unexpected bits that hurt. However, most of it wasn't too awful! I hope that made sense!

dinasour. lovely tattoo, I don;t have directly below the knee although I will in a couple of weeks, however the front of my shin was virtually pain free.
Dr boo colour looks amazing so worth it.
I don;t think my feet were so bad, I shoudln't in hindsight have had them both at once, I can;t really remember the pain it is kind of masked by the pain of the allergic reaction (which I dont think i will ever forget) I am quite nervous about getting them touched up.
It's only a month till I get my kewpie nurse done and I can;t wait, I am still undecided whether I can risk driving myself or if I should either get a lift or the train, I think Sam might think I am a wuss cause I always take dh with me. I would be ok with just the kewpie but I am getting my feet redone at the same time so it might be a long one.
I feel like my tattoo addiction has kept me going through a stressful year, feeling alot calmer now but I can;t say the addiction looks to be going away any time soon.

Ooh, hello, I was lurking on the original thread when you got your ponies! I love looking at tattoo pics and I have absolutely decided to have my first done. I want a bird/birds on my wrist and the tattoo place in our town seems pretty good - they all put their work on instagram and some of them have won awards for their work so I think any of them could manage a simple small black bird! I want to go in and ask about it but I'm a bit scared!

Report
ditavonteesed · 15/08/2016 11:53

snake , I would say email them and if you feel even slightly uncomfortable then find somewhere else, you should be completely at ease with the artist you are trusting them to give you something permanent and those of us that have a few crap tattoos will stand by you need to be confident to tell them exactly what you want and to change things even on the day.

Thank you for the advice, I didn't think of that, I just thought 'oh just pop in the shop and see what they say'. I have a couple of inspiration pictures from pinterest so I can send them and see what they think.

I really want it on my wrist but I'm wondering what it's like having a first somewhere so prominent. What do you all think in your experience?
