Which dress is better? Two choices!

I'm 7 months pregnant and attending a family members wedding in a few weeks.

Which dress is better?! It will be quite a laid back bohemian wedding.

The first is, ahem, Jessica Wright... The second is Alice Temperley...

The first one looks far to fitting for 7moPG and i'm afraid the second one is too busy for my taste..

Would suggest a skater-type dress that flows out after the bust or a wrap dress can be v flattering?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 09/06/2016 16:53

The first doesn't look like it would work with any type of bump. Or stomach at all really. It's gorgeous but it's designed to emphasize a flat stomach, highlighting boobs and hips.

The second one is a totally different style. It's quite busy and seems much older?

I'd go for a wrap or skater dress with a bump.

Philoslothy · 09/06/2016 16:56

The first one, I wore quite form fitting things at 7 months gone

FlossiesFurCoat · 09/06/2016 16:56

I wanted to wear a longer dress, I find skater dresses a bit casual and teenage as they often come up very short.

I'm not keen on wrap dresses either as I find them a bit 'per una'.

Although I have now noticed the ruffle at the bottom on the first, I think that would look odd with a bump.

Philoslothy · 09/06/2016 16:59

Have you like looked at Tiffany rose?

I bought quite a few bits from there for occasion wear

Philoslothy · 09/06/2016 17:03

There is Seraphine and Isabella Oliver but they tend to be more casual or work wear

Philoslothy · 09/06/2016 17:05

a few at the start here from Seraphine they also have an additional 20% off.

Isabella Oliver have a 50% sale

burnishedsilver · 09/06/2016 17:14

I'd have thought you'd need a maternity dress. Surely if you buy either dress to fit the bump it'll be too big elsewhere.

burnishedsilver · 09/06/2016 17:22

You might also find that the bump causes non maternity dresses to sit shorter at the front than at the back.

So you're 7 months now and are going to a wedding in a few weeks - 8 to 9 months pregnant then?

Neither, unless you have the tiniest bump ever and you don't mention that.

FlossiesFurCoat · 09/06/2016 17:27

I've got both and they fit over the bump quite neatly, it's not huge.

I will try and take photos.

I do have a nice dress from Seraphine but it's white....

Out of those two, the grey dress by a long way.

PatriciaHolm · 09/06/2016 17:30

The first one looks like underwear. Neither looks great to be honest, and I can't imagine them fitting that well when you are heavily pregnant.

firesidechat · 09/06/2016 17:32

But in a few weeks when you are virtually full term they probably won't fit. Is the AT one as expensive as the ones on her website? I wouldn't want to wear that and risk stretching it out of shape at those prices.

FlossiesFurCoat · 09/06/2016 17:41

Wedding not this Saturday but next. Still got a fair bit of room in both.

I personally loathe the pink one with a passion, but that's just my taste.
Blue one is rather nice on you but a more supportive bra might make it look better.

firesidechat · 09/06/2016 17:47

Neither.

The first looks like too tight lingerie.

The second is a bit better, but maybe too frumpy and I'm not keen on the white net stuff poking out from the side.

Sorry, although I'm not a fan of net or lace, so that may be swaying my judgement slightly.

Aworldofmyown · 09/06/2016 17:49

The pink is not very flattering I'm afraid. Its also not fitting you properly at the top (have you gone up a size to fit your bump?).

Out of the two I would go for the blue.

Aworldofmyown · 09/06/2016 17:51

some lovely occasion dresses on here www.asos.com/Women/Maternity/Occasionwear/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=19822&CTAref=Cat_Header

RaeSkywalker · 09/06/2016 17:53

Of the two, I'd go for the blue- I think it suits your skin tone more.

Tate15 · 09/06/2016 17:55

The pink one is grim unless you want to look like a middle aged man in drag.

The other one is nice but could be a bit curtain looking.
