Just that really. I'm only 35!! But my feet are a bit shot from years of running and a ruptured plantar fascia a few years back. I live in Sketchers memory foam trainers all winter but what can I wear in summer that looks nice but that I can walk in without pain??

I'm not very glamorous, either flats or low kitten/ wedges heels about my limit, I'm also 5'11". I've just been googling orthopedic shoes but that made me feel about 90.

The fitflop banda slides arrived yesterday. I really like them but they are much too wide, so unfortunately they've got to go back.

poly I am a huge pikolinos fan. Have some of their alcudia range and really comfy, can walk ages in them. Have worn them for 3 summers in a row.

Thanks to the people on this thread who recommended Strive sandals. I got some Montana ones a few weeks ago and I love them.

I am not a style icon and I'm sure they would be no good for stylish MNers. My DD thinks they are appalling. But they work for me and they are much less frumpy than other comfy sandals I have tried.

These are good if you need a bit of a wedge heel to wear with a dress. Very comfortable!

What about these? They are super comfy.

Just2MoreSeasons · 22/06/2016 12:57

Ahh, I've found my home...right on the bench next to Agatha with PF and slim feet.
Loads of good links here, am now tempted by Birkenstocks and the ballet style fit flop.
If anyone is still here, I need a navy blue heel/wedge shoe for a wedding but it has to extremely cushioned on the heel for my PF. Anyone any ideas at all?

Mindgone · 22/06/2016 15:38

I have a lovely pair of navy sparkly fit flops I bought two years ago and I love them! I recently wore them to a wedding too. Not sure if they're still available though. Maybe eBay?

Have you tried gladiator type sandals OP? They have been a revelation to me,after years of struggling to find some comfortable, but not 'granny- like, summer sandals. I have arthritis in my knees and and ankles and suffer from painful feet as a result. I used to always wear mule/flip-flop type sandals and although these were generally comfortable,I never felt that they gave my feet enough support, especially around my weak ankles. Plus I would always end up with hard skin under my feet, from the constant 'flapping' motion of the shoes,by the end of the summer. So 3 summers ago I tried my first pair of gladiators, and I wouldn't wear anything else on my feet in summer now. They are flat, but not SO flat that I feel every little stone that I tread on,or make me feel flat-footed. They have support around the ankle, and don't flap up and down,so no hard skin. Result!

Can I just ask which croc sandals are like fitflops? I have a dodgy knee which doesn't ache in fitflops so I've been wearing the ballerinas for a while, but need an open sandal. I'm
considering the fitflop biker.

A word of caution: the ballerinas are great but come up small. I'm a 6.5 but wear a 7. I had to wear them with two pairs of socks to stretch them to the right size (the black pony ones) but the next size up were huge.

lanbro · 22/06/2016 18:25

I love skechers and have multiple pairs. For this summer I have Fitflops, Crocs ballet pumps and some go walk ballet pumps. Also have some Hush Puppy wedges for dressy. Love a comfortable pair of shoes me!

I like Pikolonos, often bargains at Amazon.

This year I have bought these

www.amazon.co.uk/PIkolinos-Womens-Alcudia-0509-Sandals/dp/B00PK1D3IA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_309_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41vU1Be3u9L&dpSrc=sims&preST=AC_UL160_SR160%2C160&refRID=RW0K856HQ08YG1THTPDQ

And these in navy and red

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00N4KO02M?psc=1

I got three pairs in a size six for less than £100, delivered today! So I am not sure what is going on with the pricing.

hecallsmebunny · 22/06/2016 21:18

Also regretting clicking those hotter links...MY EYES!!

I had a great pair of hush puppies similar to the start of the thread a few summers ago and they were so comfortable, though I walked loads in them and the fabric footbed didn't last. Got another pair last summer but their insoles are no longer leather so they made my feet swat like no other sandal ever has before!

hecallsmebunny · 22/06/2016 21:24

Sweat not swat Confused

WoweeZowee · 22/06/2016 21:30

I just bought some super comfy Skechers wedges. (It's rained ever since...) I'm not usually one for any kind of heel but these are ace and stay on the old plates o'meat really well.

Oh dear god I want comfy sandals.
