Just that really. I'm only 35!! But my feet are a bit shot from years of running and a ruptured plantar fascia a few years back. I live in Sketchers memory foam trainers all winter but what can I wear in summer that looks nice but that I can walk in without pain??

I'm not very glamorous, either flats or low kitten/ wedges heels about my limit, I'm also 5'11". I've just been googling orthopedic shoes but that made me feel about 90.

Try Heavenly Feet I bought some sandals last year and they are fantastic!

BlueEyeshadow · 12/05/2016 23:03

I have lived in various pairs of Earth Spirit sandals for the last few summers. Some are pretty, some are hideous, but they're all comfy!

The Hush Puppies with the liberty print soles fell apart on me twice in one summer - they are v comfy for people who aren't so hard on their shoes as me though!

JessieMcJessie · 12/05/2016 23:04

I second Merrells. Some can be fairly dressy and I wear mine with summer dresses. Some v nice colours too.

jellycat · 12/05/2016 23:06

I have these and they're fab: www.rieker.co.uk/rieker-ladies-c2/all-rieker-ladies-c24/rieker-60874-26-p183

I'm love my Clarks sandals - they're called 'comfort sole' or something like that. Lovely quality, sooo comfy, and quite stylish (I think... I like them anyway!) and I'm 25 - don't think you can be too young to not want sore feet!

FuckOffJeffrey · 13/05/2016 12:14

If you already get in well with sketchers then why don't you just get a pair of skechers sandals?

Admitidly they are not the most stylish but they are super comfortable and supportive. I have these ones I picked up in TK Maxx a few weeks ago for £20. They also do other styles like these or these .

sammy891 · 13/05/2016 13:39

Those sketchers wedge ones are actually pretty nice, don't look at all like sketchers.

Chewbecca · 13/05/2016 13:58

I love these fly sandals from schuh - super comfy as not totally flat (which makes my back ache). Only for people who like slightly clumpy sandals!

rogueelement · 13/05/2016 14:03

Wolky Jewel. Embrace the clump. I have feet issues, these are wonderful and they go weirdly well with dresses.

PetraStrorm · 13/05/2016 14:14

Doc Martens sandals here. Clumpy (but I like that) and so damn comfortable.

JessieMcJessie · 14/05/2016 09:38

How's the shoe shopping going OP? I really can't recommend Merrells highly enough. I have never got on with Birkenstocks as I feel the moulded soles are too deep and I also need a strap round the back of my heel. Merrells are like walking on clouds, and so pretty.

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 14/05/2016 09:55

Plantar fasciitis sufferer her. I love the strive sandals. Can v. Pale feet wear silver?

BitchAdministrator · 14/05/2016 10:02

Pikolinos op?

VioletsAreViolet · 14/05/2016 10:37

I too suffer from plantar fasciitis and am a similar age to you, OP.

I'm a recent convert to Yokono sandals. In fact, their Elena style is so comfortable and flattering I own them in navy, purple and red!

Ooh I've never had such a popular thread before

I've ordered a pair of Scholl bio print strappy sandals with a 1.5 inch heel. I can't do completely flat and I need some padding/foam. I will report back when they come! I also still covering the Hush Puppies linked to at the start of the thread. Really I should order one of each recommendation and do a massive test. I could be like that make up vlogger but for the old and footily challenged Grin

I've just discovered fly London sandals (tram)
My most complimented shoe ever! And they're comfy too

Trojanhorsebox · 15/05/2016 00:42

I struggle with sandals - plantar fasciitis, get blisters easily as feet swell in the heat. I love Birkenstocks for casual, also Keens for tramping about on holiday and I have done really well with Ecco for work - they do smarter sandals as well as the more orthopaedic looking ones, you get really good cushioning and arch support so I find it's worth the money.

marriednotdead · 15/05/2016 07:23

Scholl Bioprint are the best ever for me! They last me two whole years of on my feet all day work- I keep them there. I walk miles every day but never get footsore. Currently wearing an old version of Tymeg and will replace after the summer.

Which ones did you order OP?

allegretto · 15/05/2016 07:28

Don't you have to "claw" your feet to hold Birkenstocks on?

Get one of the models with a heel strap and you don't have to hold them on.

I like Camper, and have a couple of pairs similar to this from 2 years ago.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/05/2016 07:58

Merrells:

Merrells are amazing. They make hiking sandals, so they're built for support and comfort, but you can get some lovely ones, that still have the hiking sandal feel (I.e. Padding and support).

I have fitflops for the garden, seriously comfy as they retrain your feet (?!)

TheFairyCaravan · 15/05/2016 11:08

These Clarks ones have a really padded sole but for some reason the strap kept falling off my heel so they went back.

These are really comfy but my ankle was too slim for the strap!

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/05/2016 11:11

Naot sandals are great. But oh, they are fugly.
