Just bought these Zara culottes. I tried on those Mango culottes upthread, but they came up quite long on me (I'm 5ft 2"). These Zara ones fit me well, mid calf, and swing nicely Wink

Like the look of that Whistles tee Jack.

niminypiminy · 13/06/2016 14:32

Floisme is this the kind of thing you are thinking of in the leather coat department?

CointreauVersial · 13/06/2016 16:21

Presumably NOT this? Wink

lets talk clothes. Anyone got their eye on anything?
Floisme · 13/06/2016 16:36

Yes that's it, Cointreau! have I mentioned I'd love a monocle too? Grin

niminy thanks - that's the closest I've seen so far but I'd like proper lapels (collar and rever?) and maybe slightly shorter - the one in the link would be below knee on me (though guess it could be altered).

I have this memory of Diana Rigg wearing one sometimes on the Avengers but it was a long time ago and it was probably black (we didn't have colour tv). Sorry to be a pain - I'll know it when I see it! Problem is they're not really in fashion and it's the wrong season to be looking so this could be a long haul...

niminypiminy · 13/06/2016 17:05

I know exactly the kind of thing you want - a friend of mine has one in slightly pewtery-gunmetal grey, single breasted, revers collar with lapels, just above knee - clean lines and kind of tough in a Mrs Peel kind of way. Am I envious? Yes, indeed I am.

Floisme · 13/06/2016 17:18

That's it! That's the one!
Can you introduce me? Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2016 17:51

Wagtail - the ugly shoes are wonderfully comfortable. I highly recommend them (and they really don't look too bad on my skinny little feet)!

Flo - Get the biker jacket! Leather coats will always remind me of Herr Flick, I'm afraid.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2016 17:52

Dang - I hadn't noticed the pic! It seems I wasn't the first the first person to think of him! Grin

Floisme · 13/06/2016 18:01

It's too late, Remus... I want to be Emma Peel. Or Twiggy circa 1965.

I'll try and steer clear of the kinky boots.

LittleMissWagtail · 13/06/2016 18:07

Thanks Remus - have ordered a pair and hope they will be ok on my not so skinny trotters!

JackandDiane - what a great thread. Are you standing by to kick start a new one every thread I start dies before double figures

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2016 18:14

Wagtail - Fingers crossed they work for you.

Yes please to a new thread, Jack. It's like MNVogue with cheaper handbags and fewer purchases. I like it! Grin

Floisme · 13/06/2016 18:26

Yes please from me too. More donut shoes, superhero swimsuits and Herr Flick coats.

SwedishEdith · 13/06/2016 18:33

Floisme - are you thinking of something like this?

Can't find a better picture atm but Linda in the Swedish Wallander had exactly the kind of leather I'd like.

Floisme · 13/06/2016 18:42

it could be Edith. I'm not up on Wallander but I'm off to google. Thanks!

lurkingfromhome · 13/06/2016 19:49

Loving this thread. Have made at least a couple of purchases off the back of it. Also J&D brings much entertainment value to proceedings so am hoping for round 2 Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2016 19:50

Don't skulk off, Amber. I just like the fact that this thread feels a bit more downmarket overall! Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2016 19:51

Speaking of downmarket, I finally found the plain black bum-length cotton cardigan I've been after - in the school uniform aisle!

AmberNectarine · 13/06/2016 20:51

Oh I'm well downmarket - I have a loo brush and everything.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2016 21:05

Are they downmarket? What do posh people use? I think I missed the memo on that one. Grin

JackandDiane · 13/06/2016 21:30

No bags with names on this thread.

LittleMissWagtail · 13/06/2016 21:42

Come on Jack - new thread please!

AmberNectarine · 13/06/2016 21:49

It's MN folklore, apparently only those from a lower socio-economic background have a loo brush. Maybe the upper echelons excrete only Jo Malone?

I solemnly swear not to name any bags on the next thread.
