My bags are really bad and I've been reading about 'plexr' a new, non invasive, soft surgery. Does anybody know anything it or had it done?

They have been no help at all just keep saying it will heal so I've given up contacting them. I'm just glad that I've still got my sight coz at one time I couldn't see properly as my eyes were so swollen and sore. So can you people considering this treatment plz look at me this is the minimum downtime that they tell you.

AngieBei · 19/03/2018 14:11

So sorry. I had my under eyes done at the same time as well as my neck and all areas looked like that. I was advised to gently wash my face with water and apply a solution they provided afterwards until the scabs came off which as I said was too early at day 5 which I think was because I was washing my face as they told me to!). When my scabs came off my skin actually looked not bad- pale pink. But it darkened to almost dark brown soon after. I’ve seen lots of pictures of the treatment at week 3 and 4 up to 6 weeks where it looked the same as yours so it’s probably not unusual when compared to the others. But seeking the advice of a derm quickly is probably advised. I waited too long! If you can get some proper advice quickly re aftercare you migh minimise the recovery time and possible damage. Stay positive. What it looks like now is not how it will look in a few weeks.

My gp just advised me to hang in there, what a mess, I’m so miserable, feel like a freak, she did reassure me not to feel stupid though which was nice.

Magic2710 · 25/03/2018 15:05

Hi there

I had this treatment done ..! 3 times now over the last year 35 years old minor broblen just wanted a little improvement.. not sure really if it worked .. the thing is iam really concerned now about having sugging skin as many of you have stated !!

Acatlover · 06/05/2018 12:31

Hi
I truly wish I had seen this thread prior to my recent treatment instead of all the glossy literature! I am on day four of my treatment for upper and lower eyelids and am absolutely terrified. Instead of worrying about the results being a success after paying. £1,350 I’m worrying myself sick about being permanently scarred with bright red pigmentation on eyelids and how I’m going to go back to work looking like this!! It was the most painful experience ever and I now look like a swollen chipmunk wearing a crustated zorrow mask! My skin feels tight, swollen, sore, looks horrendous and I feel such a fool for not researching this treatment better.

sue556677 · 07/05/2018 09:17

i had this procedure done 3 weeks ago i totally regret it my upper and lowe eyelids are still red and pegmentation has occured now i dont know what to do my skin is very sensitive i hafve to wait till the skin heals so i can start treating the pigmentation caused by plexr pls dont do it .

Busymum16 · 13/05/2018 22:33

Hi ladies. Just wondering how the scarring is going for those of you who had this treatment done 6 months ago? I had mine done at the end of Nov, so not far off the 6 month mark. I battled throughout Dec and Jan with a Staphylococcus infection/2 horrendous bladder/urine infections, most likely caused by the huge dip in my immune system as my body tried to recover from the plasma treatment. I had 5 emergency trips to the gp, 5 courses of antibiotics and 12 visits to nurses to have skin boils treated. I am usually a really healthy person with a fantastic immune system and not probe to utis. Like everyone, I was told downtime was around 3 days. I still have indentations all around my eyes. My lids are creepy and I also have deep creases beneath my eyes. The treatment has aged my aged my eyes considerably and am really self conscious now. And if there was any improvement to my lids, it is barely noticeable. I still regret every day getting this horrendous treatment done. And I'm angry with myself for not researching it properly. But they told me at the clinic there was nothing really that could go wrong and I believed them 😔

Busymum16 · 13/05/2018 22:35

**That was supposed to say 'my lids are crepey', but they probably are creepy too lol 😂

candyflo55 · 15/05/2018 14:09

I'm in exactly same position 6month on and my eyes are still horrendous can't even cover them with make up 😭😭

edukate · 31/05/2018 00:16

I had fibroblast laser to eyelids last week, it was so painful I had to keep telling her to stop as numbing cream didn’t work! The ‘after’ photos are very misleading as eyelids are swollen and it will look like immediate improvements are apparent-don’t be fooled, once swelling dies down little or no change. No wonder there are hardly any photos on line of results after swelling has gone ie in 2-3 weeks as almost everyone is disappointed! You can’t go in the sun without factor 50 on your eyelids ever again due to risk of hyper pigmentation. If I’d known about the excruciating pain and truly pathetic results I wouldn’t have wasted my money so please don’t even consider this, save your money for a proper blepharoplasty.

Kendra40 · 05/06/2018 16:57

Hi just had this treatment and I have been left with indentation scars as you mention... did yours ever go? And if so how and how long did it take? I am worried

pinacolada1982 · 06/06/2018 00:25

Would anyone on this thread be interested in an ongoing thread to discuss cosmetic procedures in general? Or have you all been scared off? I'd love to know what works and what doesn't and what's worth looking into more....

ilovepiccalilli · 16/06/2018 10:03

Haven't posted in a long time in MN but thought I'd chip in here! Had this done last Monday- it WAS uncomfortable at times but overall ok. Had a bit of swelling but only for a couple of days and today most of the small scabs have flaked off to reveal new pink skin. My lids do look decreased but will wait til fully healed before making final judgment! I'm in the SE and my practitioner is an ex surgeon which I stills faith - I think that's the key to this treatment. Fingers crossed it was worth it 😬

Kingfisher252567 · 24/06/2018 14:29

I had this treatment 3 months ago there was a huge amount of swelling and it was very painful. I can’t see any difference bar some scarring from the treatment, the therapist says I need to pay more and have more done to get results ! Something she never said before treatment,

sue556677 · 26/06/2018 14:58

Don’t do another treatment give it time it will heal and the scars will go eventually I had mine done 3 month ago it’s healing but a very slow process

saunders921 · 30/06/2018 23:00

Hi
Just wanted to add I have had my upper and lower lids surgically removed last year
I am very pleased with the results and would recommend this treatment
I am 61 years old and a lot of skin was removed no scarring and results visible instantly
There was some bruising a little swelling but this went within 2 weeks

I am thinking of having my lines done above my lips with the plasma pen if anyone has had this treatment done if you could advise please

Fox8587 · 17/07/2018 22:39

I had it done on my neck last Friday (it’s now Tuesday) it’s really itchy, I was told to wash the area with cooled boiled water on cotton wool pads, then use either savlon or e45!
It’s healing ok, but the scabs come of when I wash, is this too early?
I’m dreading now what it’s going to look like after these comments, wish I’d read this first! But I only paid £150. It’s a reputable place!

MaryMac11 · 25/07/2018 01:20

Hi, I had my first treatment (lower lids) just over a month ago. I THOUGHT I'd done all the research there was, and that I knew what to expect. I couldn't get the correct 'breathable' makeup that was recommended (Lycogel), so I bought an SPF with zinc (apparently this helps to heal). I was also told the healing would be about a week. Firstly, it did hurt on the more delicate parts of my skin but other than that, it was bearable. I got a taxi home wearing sunglasses and thought once I was through the door, I'd just let it heal and I'd be sorted by the end of the week. After using the zinc SPF, I realised my first big mistake. It was too thick and like putty and just clung to my now delicate skin like superglue, and I could not get it off! As the week wore on, the scabs were not falling off as I'd plastered them to my face with this putty/zinc concoction and Father's Day was coming up. I was starting to panic as I hadn't told a soul. I waited a couple more days hoping this mass would by some miracle come away from my skin, but it didn't. As I was expected to be at my parents on Father's Day, I spent the Saturday night (I'd had it done on the Monday I think) with a pair of tweezers painstakingly edging this mess from under my eyes. As the evening wore on, as it was a slow process, I eventually managed to remove it all without breaking any delicate new skin. I then gently bathed my eyes with cool micellar water. The following morning, what a surprise! I was amazed as to how fresh the skin under my eyes now looked. I was over the moon. Unfortunately, once again, I didn't follow the instructions I was given and was out in the sunshine a few days later. The delicate new skin around my eyes tanned a lot quicker than the rest of my face and I then looked like a brown panda! I keep using aloe vera gel in the hopes that it will fade along with what tan I have left today. Then, (this is a long story), I had my second treatment THIS MORNING! This time I was more prepared and more aware of why I was given these strict instructions. It hurt a teeny bit more the second time around but I knew what to expect this time. I also have the Lycogel, which is so much better. I also let people know I was having the treatment done and I wasn't moving outside the front door for TWO WHOLE WEEKS. I won't be putting anything on other than Lycogel, and when I do eventually go out, I'll be using SPF 90 (which I also have in stock, along with two weeks worth of shopping!) After all that, my advice would be to ask questions, read everything - good and bad. As we know, everyone is different so all the comments will be too. Also, from what I've read, heard, seen and been told (but remember, it's not written in stone and we're all so different), the results appear to be better for under the eyes rather than hooded eyelids. From what I've heard (and I could be wrong, but it appears to make sense to me), the skin on your upper eyelid doesn't react as well to this particular treatment. (Please don't quote me on this, I'm not a doctor etc), but this skin needs to be removed rather than just treated non surgically. Well, on that note, I hope my little novel has helped someone out there who has either just had or is thinking of having this treatment done. Seriously, do your homework (lots of it), go onto YouTube where you can see it being done and ask questions. Make sure you get the right creams and makeup - Lycogel do have a range of products and there is another similar, more expensive one but I can't remember the name of it. Another good idea is to TAKE TWO WEEKS OFF, just in case. Good luck and keep well.

Dollylj · 15/09/2018 16:41

I’ve just had this treatment done today, I know a lot of people who’ve had it done and the results on them are amazing so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
The numbing cream really worked as they applied it at intervals over approx an hour. The feeling was like a pinching sensation and the burning smell isn’t great.
I paid £275 for under eye bags at Avant Garde in Harlow and there was a lot of after care advice which was also emailed to me and after care products given to me.

edukate · 16/11/2018 09:18

6 months on and I still have indentations and hyperpigmentation, aka golf-ball effect. Don’t know what to do about it legally/medically, and advice appreciated

sue556677 · 14/01/2019 05:27

did this a year ago upper eye lid and lower and my skin is still healing havent been out in the sun for a year now its a very slow process of healing , update me with your healing process my advice is if you have any fillers under your eyes and uve had plexr on that area remove the fillers ,use lots of aloevera that is the only thing that is gonna heal your skin

edukate · 14/01/2019 08:37

Thanks, I only had upper lids and brow bone. I’m now taking legal action as saw a nurse who is trained by an organisation who sells the pens (louse Walsh international fibroblast pens)and she said it’s not right, still have pitting which she said will need regular derma rolling to improve. I have legal cover via my union otherwise couldn’t persue this. Suing them for the extreme pain and probable long term scaring. Hope yours improves- this treatment really shouldn’t be allowed

AmandaJ305 · 15/01/2019 17:57

I am currently taking a company to court due the mis-leading information given about Plasma/Plexr treatments. There are a number of companies that manufacture and sell these devices so I think it would be helpful to know which ones cause the problem, or whether it is all of them?? Mine was with a company called ACCOR Plasma Pen.

edukate · 15/01/2019 18:42

Do you mind me asking where you had your treatment? It’s realky scary that they can potentially disfigure people for life! The company I used are in Preston and they said they used a Louise Walsh pen but the nurse I saw said it’s probably a German pen as the dots were quite big so yet again I’ve been misled!

edukate · 15/01/2019 18:53

Just been on their website and they’ve removed the Louise Wash info and replaced it with Purebeau, which I suspect is the pen I used. Pretty poor really as they know they’ve made a mistake -watch this space!
