My bags are really bad and I've been reading about 'plexr' a new, non invasive, soft surgery. Does anybody know anything it or had it done?

I bought that serum a year or two ago for my son as he had a small op to remove a sist on his chest. It got good reviews. I have just checked Boots website and it says it's out of stock and won't be coming back in, but available in all my nearest stores. I can certainly look for you if you can't source it. My eyelids aren't quite as bad now. I sometimes use coconut oil too, just at bedtime. I have read that coconut oil and lemon juice can lighten the skin, but I have absolutely no idea if that is true or even suitable for after our treatment?x

AngieBei · 09/01/2018 12:40

It would be good if you can check in your local stores. I’ll phone a few here. Thanks

Busymum16 · 09/01/2018 12:51

Ok will do. Actually should have said, I'm also taking a multi vitamin. And the clinic also gave me alpha-lipoic acid capsules to help with healing.

AngieBei · 09/01/2018 13:15

You are getting plenty of support! Mine just says do nothing and it will go away eventually! I’ll try the capsules. I already take good vitamins. What date did you have the treatment? Should I be jealous it’s getting better for you! Mine is a bit lighter in parts but not in others. The photo is my worst eye!

Awh AngieBei, that's not good. Yours is a bit worse that mine. Mine is more like the separate indentations you have at your outer eye. I had my treatment done on the 25th Nov. And I think the clinic are trying to offer support, but like you said previously, the practitioner that did my treatment is experienced (based in England I think) but the clinic are not. Tbh I hope they learn some lessons from me regards downtime and possible side effects. They had never come across the indentations before. I know they've also just had a girl who had issues with pigmentation, so I'll ask about you when I go to get my new lotions. I'll try and look for that serum tomorrow. Keep positive xx

I managed to find some of the scar serum last night after driving round a few Boots stores. I tried a bit in one corner but it did sting so I’m not sure my skin is ready for it yet. I’ve started using Aqueous cream as a barrier between my skin and the sunscreen and makeup in the hope that helps it heal more quickly. If I could get to the point where I could apply treatments without irritation and could see some improvement that would be great but right now it’s a waiting game. If you find anything out let me know. Thanks so much.

Busymum16 · 10/01/2018 08:06

I will. Take care x

AngieBei · 11/01/2018 19:43

How long did the itchiness last? I’m 6 weeks in abs in a bit of a mess but the constant itching is frustrating. Like you I assume it’s still healing after 6 weeks but it’s surprising it’s taking that long. I have lots of brown discolouration which is taking its time healing too. And like you a minimal if nothing improvement to my eyes!

Busymum16 · 13/01/2018 10:55

Hi AngieBei. My itchiness has been away for a couple of weeks now, altho eyelids can still feel a bit dry, tight and sensitive at times. As soon as my scabs were off, I used olive oil, the Boots Scar Reduction serum and a sterile eye ointment called Allergan Lacri-lube. The latter was prescribed by a doctor when I had an eye infection, but you can buy over the counter. It is very soothing. Once the clinic realised I had a problem tho, about 4 weeks after my treatment, that's when I was advised to stop using things like my No7 moisturiser. So I'm currently just using the scar serum until I get the other recommended creams from the clinic x

AngieBei · 13/01/2018 11:18

The lacri lube is for the inside of the eyes. Are you using it on the treated areas as a skin soother instead? Happy to try anything that works! My itching has been better since I started using aqueous cream as a barrier cream. Like you I’ve stopped using much else on it! I have the scar serum but I found it stung a bit so I was worried it would inflame things but I’ll try again soon. If you get any other advice re creams let me know!

Busymum16 · 13/01/2018 12:04

Yes, even before the plexr, if I'd had a day where my eyes had been irritated by make up/watering, I would just smear it all around my eyes (at bedtime) without fear of irritation if it went inside a little. I love it lol. Glad to hear your itching has lessened. I think I'm going to have to go to the doc next week regards other issues I have that have been brought on my weakened immune system from all of this 🤤 Can't wait for everything to get back to normal and for this to become a distant memory.

AngieBei · 13/01/2018 12:46

Ok. Thanks. Will order some today. Absolutely agree on getting through this hell. I’ve made it look better this week by using an overnight facial tan product on the rest of my face being careful to avoid the discoloured parts and it’s made it much less noticeable. It’s a temporary fix but makes it easier to live with!

AngieBei · 13/01/2018 18:37

Have managed to get some of the lacri-lube. Thanks so much for the ongoing advice. Given you are getting much more support from your clinic I appreciate you taking the time to help.

Jodieann82 · 14/01/2018 10:59

Thank goodness I found this post! I had this procedure last month and I’ve been worrying myself everyday since. I too have major indentation marks :( if anybody does find a successful cream to help with these, please let me know. Thank you x

Lisak883 · 14/01/2018 14:12

Hi has anyone had the treatment on lower eye bags? Thinking about having this treatment done but unsure as seen no before and after treatments?

AngieBei · 15/01/2018 12:48

I’m still working on healing skin and discolouration as a priority but others are having success with the Boots scar reduction serum. As some parts of my under eyes particularly are still healing it’s too potent for those areas but I might start trying it on the indentations above my right eye which are the deepest.

AngieBei · 15/01/2018 12:50

I had upper and lower eyes done. The lower was to reduce some deep lines there and smooth out the area but it’s not worked for me and it looks worse. The under eyes take the longest to heal too so unless you have excellent skin and are of the right skin type you could have healing issues. I’d get some second or third opinions before you go ahead and make sure you pick a clinic well used to this type of treatment!

Busymum16 · 18/01/2018 13:09

Hi AngieBei. How are you getting on? I hope the things I'm suggesting are ok for you, as obviously I'm only telling you what I'm doing. Has the itching stopped? I was supposed to go to the clinic last night for the new creams, but unfortunately the bad snow meant I've had to rearrange to next week (I'm still remembering to ask about you). And I've started a course of antibiotics now, for an underlying issue I've had since getting this treatment- so hopefully when my body is back to normal, my skin will be better able to repair itself.

Busymum16 · 18/01/2018 13:17

And LisaK883. I agree with AngieBei. I didn't intend to get anything done underneath my eyes, but the practitioner offered to do a few lines saying "I didn't need much" but they have been the absolute worst and are the most noticeable. The scabs were definitely deeper than on my eyelids, taking longer to come off. Proceed with caution. I wish I had 😔

Busymum16 · 18/01/2018 13:18

Jodieann82 what aftercare advice were you given? And did they give you a reason why your skin reacted this way?

AngieBei · 18/01/2018 15:01

Have settled into a skin routine that doesn’t irritate my eyes so that’s good. The itching has almost stopped which I think is down to the lacri lube and the alpha lipoic acid capsules. Above the eye is fading very slowly although the indentations are still evident above my right eye. I’ve started using the scar reduction serum on that part. Under my eyes hasn’t changed much. My left eye particularly is still deffo healing and doesn’t like anything being applied to it. Under the right eye I’m experimenting with a Paula’s Choice eye serum which is supposed to help with discolouration, lines etc. I’m being careful just to use it on the discoloured parts. The best thing I did was to use overnight tan on the rest of my face. It’s a pain working round the treated areas but it minimises the damage and means I don’t have to wear as much concealer! I am managing to cover it ok now though so it must be improving a little. I haven’t seen any improvement in the lines or hooding of my eyes which was promised from this treatment and I think that’s down to the delayed healing in my skin so on the positive side I know I’m not a good candidate for things like peels or lasers- thank god I didn’t have this reaction following a peel to my whole face!!!!! Hopefully you are all doing ok. Between us we should come up with a great treatment protocol!

RosaKlein · 18/01/2018 22:11

I did Plexr 10 weeks ago and a small touchup 5 weeks ago.
I must admit i picked on the crusting after a few days.

The first time the treated place was very red and hard to cover. Ive used several creams but none really did the job. I went searching all over the net because the red/pinkish colour was so hard to cover with makeup.
So i learned u need to use vitamin C capsules daily and most important: put sudocream (its a white creme with zinc, zinc is very important! They use it for irritated babybottoms and all sort of irritated skin)
Whitin a week!! i saw the marks, the identations of the plexr spots from the touchup dissapear. Also the pink colour improved al lot.
The skin needs to heal itself it can vary from 12 weeks to 6 months and in the worst case 1 to 2 years to fully recover.
I had an amazing under eyelift tough, but if i could do it all over i opt for surgery instead.
But thats easy to say, if you google bleroplasty went wrong, you dont do that either. Every procedure has it risk.

Bottomline plexr removes skin, so new skin comes back and its basicly a scar because a crust came on.
Performed by the right doc you can have amazing lift results. I only praying for the pink skin to turn normal again

Busymum16 · 18/01/2018 22:39

Rosaklein, I have Sudocream, I'm going to tentatively try a little, I know it's quite strong. Thanks for that. And do you mean you took vit c capsules orally?

RosaKlein · 19/01/2018 06:37

@busymom16 you have to put on the sudocream at night before you go to sleep, not too much otherwise the skin can't breathe.
You have to put as much so you can see the white fade.
Do this every night and you see it improve daily, especially when you have identations or marks still from the plexr.

Yes capsules oral vit C. Your body needs extra vit C to heal the skin.

AngieBei · 19/01/2018 08:00

I was advised not to use sudocrem as the oil in it it created more heat in the skin which delays healing and creates more irritation but I must admit I did try it early on. Can’t say I noticed any improvement but I’ll give it another try on a small area now my upper eyes are more healed. I take Vit C daily anyway. You can use topical Vit c for pigmentation which I already use on the rest of my face but again I found it too strong for my tender irritated skin around my eyes so haven’t tried it for a few weeks. I’d be sad if it took a year or more to resolve but I’m assuming we’ll all see gradual improvements along the way. Thanks for sharing your experience. You were brave to go back for a 2nd treatment. No way I’d do that knowing how my skin responds and I had no improvement from the first!
