I love looking at engagement rings. Does anyone want to share photos? It's not a boasting thread,my ring wasn't particularly expensive. Just for fun.

Mines a pink sapphire with little diamonds either side.

Had these made after we purchased the diamond. I LOVE them.

Bought when we had no pennies would love to have it melted down and remade with a bigger central stone and smaller ones put around

I'm feeling very sad at the moment.

3 weeks ago I was baking scones and took my two rings off to roll the dough. Now I can't find them. An 11 diamond twist that DH gave me when we'd been together 10 years (married 4 1/2 years) and on my right hand I have a ring I had made using my late mum's engagement solitaire with 3 of her birth stones either side.

I am, to say the least, devastated about the whole affair.

Had them for nearly 3 years. Love them. Although I have snapped the engagement ring once already. Its very delicate, unlike me.

Puppy that's an idea! My last one was unfortunately stolen and i thought nothing would ever replace it. It took him months to find one he thought I would like. I'm actually very impressed. This is the best thread OP

My engagement ring was bought in Rome where my DH proposed.

I also wear my mums engagement ring, sapphires and a diamond, on the same hand. At some point I want to have that ring reset onto white gold and possibly a different setting .

I haven't got one...yet!

But what is an eternity ring? What's the meaning behind them?

This is mine. My husband picked it by himself. My wedding ring is my gran's. She was married at 18 during WWII, gold was rationed. This is her 22 carat 'trade up' wedding ring. She was buried with her first.

Here's mine - husband and I chose it in an antique jewellery shop. Gold and diamonds.

According to Wikipedia, eternity rings are given by the husband on a significant anniversary such as the 50th. These days it seems more common a more common gift after the birth of the first child.

Usually it has stones all the way round the band.
