I love the fringe!

What do you think of Kate Middleton's new hair do?

I said she was horribly thin. I am very slender myself. I am not at all envious.
I agree there are far too many fat people walking around. I also agree that we have lost sight of a good body size.
However, my opinion is still that she is too thin in that she does not look healthy/good for it.

Is that really all her hair. ? Has it always been tat thick and heavy. ? I think she is way too thin. It's usually a massive issue on mumsnet or media in general ( think posh and Kiera knightly, Cheryl cole ) . I think she looks truly dreadful. Clearly some sort of eating problem. That is not her natural frame . Her skin is dehydrated , she looks weird, just not like her.

Chipstick how do you know it isn't her natural frame? How do you know she has an eating problem?

Why do you say her skin's dehydrated? I really don't see it.

I'm an ex beautician and my eyes tell me her skin looks dehydrated . Of course I don't know any of those things for sure none of us do. I stand corrected.

She looks beautiful.

Not too skinny at all. Her hair is lovely as always. She looks more tired than she usually does but that's hardly surprising, although of course many people think that just because she has a nanny it means she doesn't do any of the hard parenting Hmm

Would love those who think she looks bad to post a picture of themselves Grin

Chipstick - I wasn't having a go, I just wondered what you saw that I didn't

"Would love those who think she looks bad to post a picture of themselves"

Good idea.

Regardless of opinions about her style - I think she looks the picture of health.

Slim, toned - she has a great figure.

I agree with others - our idea of a good figure has become skewed because people seem to be getting fatter and fatter. We are supposed to be slim. It's OK if you're not because you don't want to be (unless it's damaging your health), but I just don't get this criticism of people in the public eye who keep in great shape.

For those of you who think that Kate is horribly thin I would be interested to see a picture of what you would consider a healthy looking person looks like.

I think she looks very good for someone with two small children, but the high split skirt is unfortunate. You'd think she'd have learned after the pant flash in Australia.

That fringe would drive me bonkers.

Having said that, I seem to be permanently growing out a dodgy fringe. Made even worse now by BABY HAIR!!! (Maybe she's just trying to disguise her fluffy baby hair re growth??)

I'd love to see her with dead straight, slightly darker hair and a centre parting.

squoosh · 19/09/2015 21:14

Centre partings only suit 1% of the population. I don't think it would work for Kate.

I'm thin and I've had an eating disorder. We have lost our idea of normal body shapes but the difference in her face would suggest she has an issue. This is what happens when your life is focused around what you look like - she needs help in forging a role for herself. She could be a fantastic role model - heck knows - we need some more.

ShouldHavenotOf · 19/09/2015 22:04

I can't see how she is not a good role model - she has nothing nothing wrong, ever.

OK, she's not Amal Clooney - but she has pursued a tertiary education, never embarrassed herself or her royal relatives, and supports nice, worthy charities. She seems perfectly, appropriately bland to me.

Believe it or not - I am a Republican! But I just don't get all the criticism.

I think she has upset people, because since leaving uni and since her marriage, pre pregnancy and pre children, she hasn't behaved in the way the public expects. Generally a we educated and fit (assumed as not told otherwise) young person has not worked very much. It's her life to do with as she pleases as long as she isn't hurting others.

People are used to Anne, Dianna, Elizabeth's level of public duties and they thought they were getting the same.

polyhymnia · 20/09/2015 00:09

She has pursued a tertiary education and then done precisely nothing with it. Not a good role model in my book.

I don't think I possibly care less about how some royal wears their hair. And judging any woman based on their looks never sits well with me.

Some of the posts on this thread are vile.

Perhaps the posters being so critical should post pictures of themselves too, so we can pick apart every aspect of their appearance.

She looks fine. More attractive in every respect than 99.9% of the population. But more to the point, this focus on her appearance is bizarre, sexist, and horrible.

If this thread was zapped back to the 80's and we were talking about Diana I have no doubt that you would all be saying Diana wasn't too thin and that she was naturally that way............. she wasn't though, was she? And you could see it, just as you can see it with KM.

She's thin but I'm not sure about too thin. She may still be breast feeding and when I was, my weight was at its lowest no matter how much I ate. Like it or not, she must feel under huge pressure to lose the baby weight being in the public eye, unlike Zara Phillips who appears not to give a damn. Anyway- better to be too thin than too fat like most of the UK! Unless she has an eating disorder, being thin is not harmful, unless it's taken to extreme.
The work on her teeth was well documented ages back- she's had lingual braces (at the back of teeth) and supposedly chose to have an imperfect natural smile, keeping a gap between her front teeth. She hasn't had veneers but may have carried on with the braces.

Doubt very much if she has had tattooed eyeliner- there for good as an ageing queen?

I don't think it matters a jot that she went to uni and hasn't used her degree- same happens to thousands of 'normal' people. She isn't obliged to have a high flying career any more I suspect than most people posting here. I'd rather have a normal life and a job than have her role - living in a goldfish bowl and on duty for the rest of my days, no matter how much money I had for fripperies or holidays.
