I love the fringe!

What do you think of Kate Middleton's new hair do?
OP posts:
lazysummer · 18/09/2015 22:43

She has a nice face, and a nice smile. She makes the best of herself, as do the other females in her family, and dresses in a style suited to her role. I am not keen on the new hairstyle, however.

OhYeahMama · 18/09/2015 22:52

It looks like a fringe growing out, rather then one just been cut, at that annoying in your eyes stage.

She has lots of hair and a not too high forehead, a blunter fringe would have looked amazing, maybe she'll be braver next time.

Bunbaker · 18/09/2015 23:30

"and she is far too thin, horribly so"

Oh no she isn't

GrinAndTonic · 19/09/2015 00:07

I'm sure she is dealing with tantrums but she certainly is not worried about everything else is she?

squoosh · 19/09/2015 01:35

It's not a fringe, I think she made a mistake and has been desperately growing it out over the last couple of months. It looks like two haircuts in one.

Yes! That's why she's been absent from public life. It hasn't been due to maternity leave, it's been due to a dodgy blunt fringe!

Been there!

donyourway · 19/09/2015 01:40

I've always thought she'd look good with shoulder length hair bob style.

squoosh · 19/09/2015 01:46

Such double standards on here. If someone in the news was described as 'horribly fat' there'd be cries of body shaming all over the shop.

Someone says this on MN on average once at least every 82 seconds.

Solo · 19/09/2015 02:08

"Kate caused quite a stir when she unveiled her new bangs over the weekend, which she was still championing on Thursday" hmm] like it would be there on Monday and grown out/gone by Thursday?!!

I like her, but I do think she should stop showing so much gorgeous leg.

SirChenjin · 19/09/2015 09:51

Is she dealing with tantrums? I would have thought that was the job of the Norland Nanny.

SuburbanRhonda · 19/09/2015 10:01

Agree she looks exhausted.

BeautifulBatman · 19/09/2015 11:11

Yeah, I know Squoosh. And yet it still seems to be acceptable to game thin people but not fat people. Your point is?

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 19/09/2015 11:25

God this thread is horrible. Such unpleasant comments about her looking old, boring, fake, wrong makeup, boring clothes, too much leg, not enough lip gloss. She can't do right for doing wrong can she?! She's got two tiny children, she still looks pretty, just a bit tired.
And Fwiw I have never been skinnier than 2 months post birth. Some women don't put weight on in pregnancy and have little appetite afterwards.
And her hair is nice. Very Charlies Angels. Leave her alone you absolute nest of vipers.

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 19/09/2015 11:27

Ok, not all of you are being horrible but sheesh, I would be in tears if i were her reading this.

SirChenjin · 19/09/2015 11:28

Nope.

BeautifulBatman · 19/09/2015 11:37

This site is becoming rather foul tbh. Unless you're overweight, moaning about wtc or ctc cuts, vote labour, have a child'with SN, a landlord hater, 2nd hand buying mooncup wearer, with no money in the bank at all, you're fair game.

SirChenjin · 19/09/2015 11:43

MN has always been that way - it's not 'becoming' anything. I've been on here for many, many years, and 'twas always thus. Netmums is that way, if you feel that MN is foul.

BeautifulBatman · 19/09/2015 11:46

Why does there have to be so much spite and nastiness? I'm not all unicorns and flowers myself, but a lot of members here are just mean for means sake. I've no need for net mums. But your attitude confirms my point nicely, thanks.

SirChenjin · 19/09/2015 12:51

You're welcome.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 19/09/2015 14:38

Calm down ifnot. It's the nature of being in the public eye that people will comment on your appearance - particularly when your role is to represent said people (that is essentially the function of public duties)

I'm not quite sure what you are suggesting? That there should be no threads at all that make any kind of comment on public figures at all? Or that MN should delete any comment bar "ain't she luuuvvverleey. I luvs her, I do".

whattheseithakasmean · 19/09/2015 15:14

I cannot believe anyone can seriously consider Kate Middleton 'horribly thin'. She is lithe and slim with a fabulous figure - have we really reached the stage where anyone without a muffin top is 'horribly thin'.

Newsflash - we are not meant to be chubby - slim is good.

Not so keen on the hair cut though.

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 19/09/2015 15:15

I just don't see the need for the vitriol about a strangers appearance. And, actually, she does look better than the majority of the population, so in the end it just sounds like bitter jealousy, which is a rather unappealing quality really.

EmGee · 19/09/2015 15:38

I agree with the posts upthread saying we have lost sight of what a healthy weight really is. I live abroad and I am always shocked when I go back to the UK and see the sheer number of overweight people of all ages. It's not like that at all where I live.

I also agree that the DoC looks slim, slender, willowy, athletic (she is a keen sportswoman - well, she used to be - so I imagine her figure is toned due to years of doing exercise). I wonder sometimes if photos of her aren't photoshopped to make her legs or waist or whatever to look thinner than it really is.

Even so, I think it's awful to say she's horribly thin. There must be some really envious people out there.

Flutterbutterfly · 19/09/2015 16:54

She looks exhausted... Personally feel she should be taking a full year of maternity leave.

Enjoy your babies Kate!

She not too thin but really needs to stop flashing upper thigh.

Canyouforgiveher · 19/09/2015 17:05

I don't understand the horribly thin comments. I know loads of women who have similar body type and I live in the US. My sister is still that slim and she is in her 50s after having several children. I agree people have completely lost sight of what a normal weight is/used to be. There was a documentary on Queen Elizabeth on PBS here recently and she was just as slim as the Duchess of Cambridge at the same age - most likely no on commented because most women were similar build so no one noticed.

wanderingwondering · 19/09/2015 17:05

I think she's pretty and has a lovely figure.
But I agree she looks tired and dehydrated and older than 33.
