Just spent an enjoyable hour watching sali's in the bathroom with Caroline hirons any wondered if anyone knows where sali's dress in from? Really like the colourful buttons: m.youtube.com/watch?v=YucPnS4j4kQ

You don't have to write about bank interest rates or the Arab/Israeli conflict to be considered a journalist you know. Some write about cricket, some write about make-up and perfume.

She has written a lot for Red magazine also. I remember in particular and article about her estrangement from her mother.

I used to love Nigella Lawson's beauty column in the Times way back in the 90's.

Just because it's not hard news doesn't mean she isn't a journalist; they write about all sorts.

Mitzy I didn't know that, about her mum. That's a shame.

I think I'd be quite happy describing Sali as a journalist. I like her a lot as a person and also love her story about how she started in the beauty industry. I do however wish she wouldn't wear black all the time as it totally drains her. Whenever I've seen her wearing a different colour she's looked so much better. (her sniffing during interviews and scratching her head all the time also irritates but I guess she can't help that? Blush)
I wasn't impressed with her book at all. Especially the lack of photos. It would be great though for a teenager or person who knows nothing at all about make-up and beauty. I am looking forward to Lisa's book which looks to be a bit less fluffy. Smile

condominoes - I agree about the mess everywhere. It's shallow and silly I know, but when it comes to these things, I guess I just feel like I want someone dealing in skin to live in a more sterile sleek looking environment. Smile
I was perplexed in Caroline saying she was interested in face and neck but nothing further down. I couldn't wrap my head around being so concerned about the skin on your face, but not the rest of your appearance? I guess we all have our "things" we are into but it seemed odd seeing as she's made a career out of it. I don't care about her weight or her looks like some people do, but do admit I sometimes wonder if the fact she doesn't look as "put together" as other people in the industry has harmed her career at all?
