Have name changed.

How old do I look? Please be honest. I know I have a fat face :( I am having hair cut on Saturday. Feel like I look frumpy. WDYT? What would you do? My hair is naturally straight.

on here all the fringes are soft...there are loads of pics of fringes with glasses and the majority are side swept or choppy. It just looks better.

pinkfrocks · 04/02/2015 22:04

Your hair is ageing because it's 'little girlish'- would be the kind of haircut a 6 year old might have.
I hate to be blunt but if you can lose weight it will show in your face and you will look so much better IMO.
I don't mean to be harsh but if you are about to do a make over then weight should be at the top of your list- for health reasons if not just vanity.

oldladyhair · 04/02/2015 22:05

I am losing weight :) 3.5 stone down.

Wow, that's fantastic!

MrsTawdry · 04/02/2015 22:08

That's a lot! Well done! I disagree about bobs being little girlish. Bobs like that can be extremely sexy! It's just not the best cut for OP mainly because the fringe is too blunt.

mumofthemonsters808 · 04/02/2015 22:10

Early forties and I think you look lovely.

andsmile · 04/02/2015 22:15

Err hang on OP behaviours that your RL friends see can also signal what age group you belong to. So please don't equate response to a 'flat' on screen photo.

Ok so you've got some weight to lose. I do too. But you are allowed to look good and be your best self while going through the process.

I tentantively buy some bits but not expensive big buys. 3.5 is figgin fantastic. it's really healthy that you are engaging with your changing self image in this way. You hear tales about someones sister losing weight but still dressing 'bigger'.

You look happy in them pics too!

Coumarin · 04/02/2015 22:17

Haven't read the thread because I want to answer the age question. I'd say mid 30's.

You've gorgeous colouring and really good skin. I like your fringe too.

Right going to read the thread now.

Ememem84 · 04/02/2015 22:21

Wow! Well done!!

I was going to guess 30

If you're brave enough I'd go to hair dressers and let them just go for it with your hair. I've done this once. Half of mine was bleached. It looks awesome. But find a good salon and a good stylist. I would not have let mine get the bleach out if I didn't trust her.

AsaWhistle · 04/02/2015 22:22

This would be great

SirVixofVixHall · 04/02/2015 22:23

I was about to post mid 20s and I have just seen that you are 30. You have lovely skin, and look like a teenager in the second pic. I think as it is now your hair is ageing you in the first pic, it is too matronly a style for a youngster like you. I agree with the poster who suggested a side swept fringe etc, I think it all just needs softening up and relaxing, it is a bit blocky for your face and too severe.

MrsTawdry · 04/02/2015 22:23

I don't like that Whistle because the layers could seem "purdy" ish on a bad day.

NeedABumChange · 04/02/2015 22:28

You look a lot younger in the second photo. If you told me you were uni age, I'd believe it. Blunt fringe is good as you do have a round face but the rest needs some texture and volume, it's a bit flat. You need it a bit choppy and squishy.

NeedABumChange · 04/02/2015 22:29

swishy not squishy.

nikki1978 · 04/02/2015 22:29

I would have said 40's im afraid. Well done for the weight loss. Unfortunately extra weight tends to be aging. But I think your glasses are the thing that ages you the most. Sorry, I know they are expensive. I would also say lose the fringe and grow your hair. Even fine hair can look nice longer with layers.

KissyBoo · 04/02/2015 22:42

You are pretty but the hair is too geometric and ends at the wrong point to accentuate your best features.

this one I think would work well.

Coumarin · 04/02/2015 22:52

Ouch to some of these replies! You're very brave putting a pic up and you're very pretty so no working on needed. You're already eating healthier so well on your way to where you want to be.

I think your hair needs a bit more volume so layers and slightly longer so it doesn't curve around your jaw and make your face look rounder.

I've just spent 5 mind poking at my own fringe whilst reading some of these comments and wondering if it's too wide/heavy etc. Grin I think lines softer than yours but I wouldn't call your fringe 'heavy', it's full yes but not heavy.

Coumarin · 04/02/2015 22:54

Although I do like the Kelly Clarkson picture. You'd definitely suit it like that.

linalool · 04/02/2015 23:04

I guessed right! No way do you look in your 40's. I am in my 40's so I know what I'm talking about.

polyhymnia · 04/02/2015 23:09

Well done on the weight loss.

I'd have said anything up to 40 ish because, being overweight myself,I know one of the fairly few upsides tends to be a good dewy skin.

But I'm also a great believer in looking the best you can now and agree with others your hair is really doing you no favours. Way too square and heavy of fringe. I would track down a really good hair stylist - try consultations with some before you decide- and invest as much as you can in a great restyle. After all your hair is with you all the time.

The glasses, though nice in themselves,
aren't quite right either. Again a good optician can advise but I know how pricy glasses are so they might have to go on the list after the hair.

Agree V or scoop necks and a simpler more sophisticated fabric would be more flattering. Don't think you need more makeup, keep it light specially given your good skin. It looks a bit shiny in the pic but I find that's often the way in pics as opposed to RL.

ThatsMyOnlyShirt · 04/02/2015 23:24

I would have said 32.

LadyB49 · 05/02/2015 01:34

Def not a pixie cut.
I'd keep it that length but get it all chopped into, especially the fringe. Then when drying it....use gel and get your head upside down and blast it all over the place, then some more product through it and wear it tousled. Dress it into shape just using your fingers.

baskingseals · 05/02/2015 07:10

Agree with the Kelly Clarkson cut that Pixie linked to. It would suit you. Could I just say you look so warm and lovely, I wish you were at my school gates, something lovely about you op.

CrazyTights · 05/02/2015 07:16

Shorter and with some height, it slims your face. At least it does for me and I have a similar face to you.

ihave2naughtydogs · 05/02/2015 07:22

I have a round face also. That is not a good hairstyle for a round face.Side swept fringe is the way to go. google hairstyles for round faces or look at celebrities such as kelly clarkson, camoron diaz. catherine Zeta jones to help fiind the perfect hairstyle. I would stay away from the pixie cut personally.
