Dear lord her face looks terrible on This Morning.
Is it the botox or the fillers that makes a face look so weird?

Other people shouldn't waste time feeling sad about other people and their choices! Tbh I think anyone would be hard pushed not to be impressed with the results of a light touch of botox . I think before i had it i was non plussed I look ok without too and I had it as a friend was going to and the doctor said it was no good for her as she had very lined skin caused by sun. It doesn't work for that sort of ageing Me on teh other hand I have about 3 deepish lines on forehead from not wearing my glasses. he said I was ideal candidate and i was!

Browtox · 29/09/2014 14:33

yup - Divot free now between the eyes

noddyholder · 29/09/2014 14:34

40! Wait until 50 looms. I like being older but i don't want to look knackered as then i feel knackered

Browtox · 29/09/2014 14:36

thats a good point, there is a lot nice about being old. not having to go to nightclubs but looking tired is NOT one of them

Floisme · 29/09/2014 14:36

I don't deny it can be effective (although wrinkles aren't the only sign of ageing - they're not even the worst). I also agree it's your face, your choice - not exactly what I went marching for in the 70s but hey Grin But personally, I'm not interested in looking younger/less knackered/less angry. I'm deluded enough to believe you can look your age and still look good. That's my aim.

noddyholder · 29/09/2014 14:38

I think you can look good but not as good.

LaurieFairyCake · 29/09/2014 14:39

Her and I are exactly the same age and I've never had Botox and genuinely think I look younger than her.

I think Botox actually ages someone as it's so obvious - if you'd asked me her age I'd have said 50 ish.

I'm bloody tempted to post my own face so you can judge - we've the same skin tone and dyed hair colour.

noddyholder · 29/09/2014 14:44

She doesn't look 50. I think I look my age am 49 but have no grey hair and look after myself as much as i can be arsed and its not a big deal. There are women i know who would love it ( book group) but their feminist leanings won't allow it yet they are fascinated by all things cosmetic and talk about it way more than my friends who have it!

Floisme · 29/09/2014 14:46

That's probably true Noddy Grin but I don't think your'e ever going to look as good no matter what you have done. I just think those days are gone (for me) and I'd rather not waste whatever time I have left trying to recreate them.

LaurieFairyCake · 29/09/2014 14:46

I don't think she would look 50 without the Botox, just that the Botox is so obvious you automatically think older.

Floisme · 29/09/2014 14:47

Whoops crossed with you Noddy, the above was in answer to 'looking good but not as good'.

noddyholder · 29/09/2014 14:49

I am not trying to recreate anything

Browtox · 29/09/2014 14:50

i dye my hair too

Floisme · 29/09/2014 14:53

I'm talking about me, not you Noddy. I'm saying that's how it would feel to me and that's why I'm not interested. I'm not critical of women who have it done, in fact, like your book group friends, I'm interested in talking about it.

noddyholder · 29/09/2014 14:57

Hahaha!

Flo it is an individual thing I like looking less tired it does something to me more than just physically. I could do without it and look more or less the same but I don't have to so I don't. I am the oldest in one of my book groups and the youngest in the other. The older ones are more academics/feminists but are fascinated and envious that I don't give a sh*t and just please myself wrt this sort of thing there are at least 2 of them who say they would love to wear make up but just can't!

AgathaF · 29/09/2014 15:00

Greengarden "but the point is..its not you ..at least not anymore! Its a thing called accepting who you are."

Do you apply this logic to make-up too? And hair dye? Wearing clothes that make you feel good? Eyebrow plucking?

Floisme · 29/09/2014 15:07

Clothes and make up are for anyone though, regardless of age; they're not just there to make you look younger. You also don't need a health practitioner to access them which is where I draw the line. I am vain as fuck but my age is part of my identity and I'm don't see the point of denying it.
This is just my personal opinion and I'm not having a pop at anyone who thinks differently.

noddyholder · 29/09/2014 15:38

Its not just about age though I don't look any younger

CateBlanket · 29/09/2014 15:55

Has anyone had it done for crows feet asking for a friend honest

Browtox · 29/09/2014 16:23

MAYBE

Sunny67 · 29/09/2014 16:39

I read a magazine interview with AH a few months ago. She said she'd stopped having Botox and having a fringe was far better. I didn't see the show this morning but looking at the picture, I think she's changed her mind.
It's her face and it's her choice just as make up and hair colour is mine. I really don't fancy having Botox at all, I'm 47 and I'd rather try to look good for my age than try to look 10 years younger.

Viviennemary · 29/09/2014 16:43

I always think that maybe Botox will have some long term effects that they haven't really found out yet. I have been tempted but too scared.

noddyholder · 29/09/2014 16:46

I had worries about the safety I have tbh. But I have other health problems and needed clearance to have it. I know several people who have had it for other reasons and have been having for years at 10,000x the dose for cosmetic use and so far no ill effects so i decided to have it.
