I've done this once before with cosmetics only, but interested to see if it'll work for clothes too.

I've just had a massive clear out of clothes, cosmetics, beauty stuff etc and am wondering if any of you lovely MNers would like some stuff for free?

There's too much to list individually, but for instance, there's a Monsoon black tuxedo jacket, Lipsticks that have never been used, a pair of cream wedge sandals, etc

What I suggest is that if you're after something specific, is to post outlining it eg 'I have a job interview next week and would love a new smart jacket' or 'I'd like to experiment and try a new lipstick colour', or whatever, and if I have something similar I'll post. One item per person please. Once we've agreed on who will get what, lets PM and I'll post the item to you.

:-)

I would love anything is a size 8 that is casual and helps me break away from my normal uniform of skinny jeans, sparkly converse and rock t-shirts.

What a lovely thing you are doing.

Tomsayer · 12/09/2014 20:39

Tigerbear thank you so much, that would be amazing! I'm a size 14.

AuntyDiluvian · 12/09/2014 20:41

Hi you kind& generous one. I'm a size 14-16 (more 16) returning to work after a fattening baby and could really do with a garment or two to impress my wealthy clients more than all my faded tat from of am...
Tortoise, why should I care if it's promotional? As long as I don't have to give up credit card details for my 'free trial'...

TortoiseshellSpecs · 12/09/2014 20:44

I was thinking more along the lines of using MN for marketing purposes.

AuntyDiluvian · 12/09/2014 20:45

... Should be 'oxfam' of course...

TeaAndALemonTart · 12/09/2014 20:45

I thought the same Tortoise.

AuntyDiluvian · 12/09/2014 20:46

Oh ok. I am not familiar enough with the rules there.

Romcom · 12/09/2014 20:51

Nice idea.
You've reminded me I have the sleek rose gold blusher, used once, if anyone wants it. Too sparkly for me.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/09/2014 21:03

It's nothing to do with me, tortoise, but even if it was, surely this is a classic "win win" scenario, then.

Tigerbear · 12/09/2014 21:14

Evening all, sorry not to post until now. It was my first day with DD, who's been away on holiday for a week with her dad, and she's only just gone to sleep.

It's been really nice to read all of your posts and stories as to why you'd like different items. I'm now going to sort through everything then post pics with each item, aligned to the relevant poster (based on first come first served kind of basis). If you'd like the item, please post on the thread to say so. If not, please say so too, so someone else can request it.

Let's clear something up, for the benefit of Tortoiseshell and any other cynics: what I'm trying to do here is simply get rid of loads of stuff I don't wear or use anymore. I did it on MN a few years back with cosmetics and many people got a lovely load of goodies they wouldn't otherwise have had. It's the same intention now.

Re the wardrobe consultation / image consultancy, I simply mentioned this because of Oldbags comment which coincidentally came right at the start of the thread. Nowhere have I mentioned the name of my proposed new business, website, email, tel number - mainly because it's not even up and running yet!! I have nothing to promote, I've simply offered my time, service and knowledge of the fashion business (of which I have over 14 years) to those who have requested it - for FREE. Hope that clears things up.

To those who have PM'd me, I'll get back to you ASAP.

This is such a lovely idea. I really don't need anything but love the idea of people enjoying your clothes and them having a purpose. Smile

JavaSparrow · 12/09/2014 21:41

Tigerbear, I'd love a consultation, I'm in Wimbledon.

I am much bigger than I would like to be and have some nice clothes that don't fit anymore (some that never did) that I'll never get round to ebaying.

So if anyone is looking for dresses for occasions size 14-18, I'll post pics when I work out how. Also will be able to offer size 6 heels that are too high for me and boots designed for normal sized calves. Blush

I am broke, so will ask for postage costs, but no profit and local collection welcome.

KillashandraRee

You were the first to post to say you needed a blazer in a 12-14 - what do you think to this? It's by a Danish brand called Numph, in a thick jersey and is double breasted (popper fastening). Size is M and I think it'd fit.

What a lovely idea op, i have a huge bag of clothes etc so when i have a moment may do something similar.

i am in need of some jeans or trousers, casual type. Im a size 16-18. Failing that, a nice chunky knit cardigan!

Tigerbear · 12/09/2014 22:44

Miketheshite - I have a Nars red lip crayon in 'Red Square' for you

Buttercrumble - you asked for a jumper. This is a metallic gold/bronze from H&M. The label says a 16, however H&M sizes are small, and I def think this is more of a 12-14, and it's slightly on the short side. Prob not right if you're big of nork, however. Let me know what you think.

Badvoc - an amazing 40th birthday party dress. It's vintage, and an old size 12, so more like a 10-12 - do you think it would work. It's a silvery/bluey lurex with diamanté buttons all the way down the front. Guaranteed to stand out!

Melaniecheeks - congrats to your daughter on her debut!
How about this dress? Shh, it's Per Una of all places, but it's beautifully cut, hangs very well and is pure silk. Photo doesn't do it justice. Size 10, and will come to knee length on you (I'm same height)
