I know this has been done before and posters have got flamed but I'd really like some suggestions.

I'll go over the budget if its something I really like, but not wildly so.

I probably looking for more of a tote style rather than clutch.
Thanks.

LEM I would look on asos, M&S, amazon and ebay for leather bags around £50. People also recommend TK Maxx.

How about this for under £50?

bettykt · 23/08/2014 13:50

For me it would have to be something by Celine, either:

Trapeze

Tie

or

Hobo although they cost more than £900

As an aside how come no-one gets a flaming on the property/travel threads when they mention they have £1.5 million to spend on a house or £8k to spend on a holiday, no-one seems to recommend a 1 bed flat or a camping holiday Hmm Blueberries enjoy your bag and come back and tell us what you bought Grin.

bigkidsdidit · 23/08/2014 13:51

LEM I also have about £50 budget while I'm shelling out in two full time nursery places. I buy good bags second hand on eBay (not top designer ones though, they'll be fake) rather than cheaper ones new.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 23/08/2014 13:51

Or this looks loosely based on a Chloé Marcie

No armani - thats nice but id like a shoulder bag that goes across the body. Would like leather or fabric

Greengardenpixie · 23/08/2014 13:55

er and i do agree, cigarettes and alchohol are a complete waste of money! A holiday well is generally shared although some people i appreciate go on there own but it is for well being. I think its different. Pets a waste of time?? they are living creatures! Hardly the same as paying £900 for a bag or £25k...i mean thats easily someones bloody wage!! on a bag???
I reckon the reason there is such an uproar is at heart, people know its a ridiculous amount...and if they dont they really have lost touch will all reality. Sorry and im not speaking to anyone personally. This is the last comment i will make. I dont want to get into an argument. It is my opinion thats all. You will likely disagree...and thats fine.

LEMmingaround · 23/08/2014 13:55

Oooh seems tk max is the place

LEMmingaround · 23/08/2014 13:57

Baby -thanks. Id like brown soft leather for everyday. Not too big. Natural looking would be lush Grin

Greengardenpixie · 23/08/2014 13:57

On the 1.8 million on a property...i think thats scandalous and would say so...and dont get me started on people that have not just one but two houses.

MrsDavidBowie · 23/08/2014 14:01

Why is spending 1.8 million on a property scandalous?

LEMmingaround · 23/08/2014 14:05

Fwiw i have no problem with anyone spending £££ ona bag. I don't think i would personally as i would be scared to use it and i don't dress up so it's not for me. I do have a couple of expensive peices of jewellery £500 necklace and £1600 ring. I will hand them on to dds. Some people have money. Some people don't.

monkeyfacegrace · 23/08/2014 14:06

So what of its someone's wage Confused

I'm not going to give it to someone and say, hey, take a year off work am I?!

What people spend on ANYTHING has sweet fuck all to do with anyone else. Why would it?

And I'd much rather it was discussed on an Internet forum than in a pub over lunch.

A lot of people wouldn't even notice £900 missing from their account. A lot of peoples life would be changed with that £900

Op, enjoy your shopping. I know I do.

Greengardenpixie · 23/08/2014 14:07

MrsDavidbowie oh dear..and you really need to ask??

monkeyfacegrace · 23/08/2014 14:07

Snort, I own two houses too. I really piss you off don't I snigger

1.8 mil on a house is far more than I could ever afford but its actually not that much. you need to look on the property porn sites

Greengardenpixie · 23/08/2014 14:10

No you dont personally. I dont know you. I dont care that much about you [not in an insulting way] but we are all making a comments to some faceless person on the other end of a computer. I am only expressing my opinion. I am leaving it at that now.

monkeyfacegrace · 23/08/2014 14:12

I do understand that it's obscene. And I do sort of see where you may be coming from.

But I see it as supporting the economy. Aren't we all meant to spend to get the UK moving again Wink

ChickenFajitaAndNachos · 23/08/2014 14:12

A 20 quid bag would seem obscene to many people in the world. Where do you stop with that type of argument?

FuckyNell · 23/08/2014 14:17

I'm on holiday atm but just love a bag thread!!!!

I know louis vuitton is not highly sought after on these threads however I've recently bought this beauty in navy Smile dh and ds got a football season ticket and to be fair, my bag is going to last a lot longer than a year!

I love bags.

No one talks about bags in my life really so it's nice to compare boast a bit on here.

Apatite1 · 23/08/2014 14:21

The only thing that's obscene is people buying things they can't afford. It's not as if the OP actually has to buy this bag on credit and pay it off later. She has the disposable income and isn't spending outside her means. There's no problem here.
