Are we wearing long boots this winter or is it ankle boots all the way?

A few years back no one would have been seen dead in ankle boots with skirts or dresses. Now it seems that ankle boots are de rigeur, whatever anyone is wearing.
Do knee length boots have a place at all, and are they 'out' over skinnies?

Both although probably more long boots.

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2014 16:55

Both

waitingforgodot · 17/08/2014 16:56

Both

Twinklestein · 17/08/2014 16:58

Both. Long boots more though, not massive on ankle boots.

emiliejayne · 17/08/2014 16:58

I prefer long boots. Shorts boots with skirts and dresses always look a bit like hooves I think

Kbear · 17/08/2014 16:59

I can't bloody WAIT to wear boots, long ones, short ones, flat ones, high ones .... love boots.... is it October ?? is it? is it??

emiliejayne · 17/08/2014 17:00

I was toying with the idea of shorter calf length biker type (saw somebody wearing but not sure what they're called) boots with skirts. But haven't seen anything similar

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2014 17:01

Not keen on wedge ankle boots with dresses / skirts. Prefer with skinnies only.

Long boots ok with skinnies, but nearly the same colour. So navy with indigo..

Ankle boots with skinnies is usually what I do.

RubyGoat · 17/08/2014 17:08

Both. I have some knee length black leather, & some lovely wine coloured suede Diesel ankle boots. I need some black, lower heeled ankle boots though. In a 3. Preferably not from the kids' section!

MrsDavidBowie · 17/08/2014 17:19

I wear knee length riding boots.
Am delighted to see Duo have brought back the Florence boot which I already have but will get another pair.

Apatite1 · 17/08/2014 17:29

I don't have any ankle boots. Shall I get some?

Apatite1 · 17/08/2014 17:30

I have 16 pairs of knee boots so I'm ok there....

Pollywallywinkles · 17/08/2014 17:46

Both as long as I can find some long boots that fit my legs and don't flap about.

Turquoiseblue · 17/08/2014 18:08

Hmm, ankle boots with skinnies,
Have black grey chestnut ankle boots (all have block or Cuban heel)
Black high heeled shoe boot s were brilliant for skinnies, skirts and dressing up
Black knee high boots - but need a trying on session, - I think with grey skinnies, loose shirt and biker, and with some knit dresses maybe, probably not with skirts

AmberNectarine · 17/08/2014 18:12

I bought some black leather knee high wedge boots from Comptoir des Cotonniers last winter so will have them out again. Also thinking about getting some Stuart Weitzman 5050s.

bouquetofpencils · 17/08/2014 18:15

I wear long boots over skinnies sometimes. I feel
Like Dick Whittington and want to slap my thigh in a comic fashion but it is the most practical way to wear them.
I do love the short Chelsea boot style though. My tan ones are wrecked so will need to get more.

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2014 18:24

I'd still love some riding boots.

MrsDavidBowie · 17/08/2014 18:54

I wear riding boots with thick leggings and fitted tunics.
So shoot me.Grin
But at 6feet tall and size 14 I can carry it off.

MillyDots · 17/08/2014 19:00

I have already started wearing my boots this year as it is very Autumnal where I live.
Both though.

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 19:03

Ankle still m

MaryWestmacott · 17/08/2014 19:05

Vogue says knee high boots, ideally with a low block heel. I like it when what I intended to wear anyway is considered fashionable.

Orangeanddemons · 17/08/2014 19:06

I think you have to be very careful with knee length boots and skinniest.

If the ankle of the boot is too narrow, then people look like a member of the Gestapo. I got sick of seeing this look about 2 years ago....

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 19:08

I feel like I'm some kind of mass myrderer in them. Plus my other hate is women with knee boots and baggy jeans. Oh no.

I have slender legs. I've only once ever found a pair of knee boots I like. Plus if you're indoors all day you look a mince strutting around like himmler

Northumberlandlass · 17/08/2014 19:10

This morning I have ordered 3 pairs of ankle boots for autumn/ winter..
I am 6ft so don't really worry about my legs looking stumpy, there is also the issue of not finding long boots long enough but thats a whole other thread

MrsDavidBowie · 17/08/2014 19:11

Try Duo for length. Mine come right up to knee
