The new loreal advert for hairspray got me thinking about my school days when Insette was the hairspray of choice. Hair never moved for weeks and you could practically snap it off. Vidal Sassoon that smelled like apples. Constant Carol that only did foundation in orange, oranger and orangist. Care to add yours

Oh lordy, I too rmember the coconut hair stuff. It attrated the wasps something terrible in the summer!

I had a stick makeup from body shop that was a lipstick, blusher and eyeshadow in one

I liked the banana shampoo and conditioner from body shop

Impulse body sprays -4 different vanilla ones if I remember or O2 if I wanted something fresher

We then discovered cosmetics to go (now lush) which was mail order, the parcels were tied with string and full of popcorn -so exciting!

Probably banned now for all the chemicals?

Oh and green concealer and foundation to reduce redness -nope, just made your face look green!

Tribe perfume, Boots natural collection fruity shower gels etc (think there was a marshmallow one too!)

Everything I could get was Body Shop. We lived in the arse end of nowhere and I would beg my mum to send cheques off to the York branch as they did mail order. When I wasn't nagging her to go on a day trip so I could spend hours sniffing all the glass bottles. They had a small shop there and made a big thing of the ghost throwing bottles on the floor overnight!

Strawberry body wash, white grape skin tonic, coconut hair gel, elderflower eye gel, washing grains, ice blue shampoo. Rose musk perfume oil. I must have stunk

I had the lipstick that changed colour too, into a mad coral.

Lots of shimmer body gel, what was that about?

Fake tan was only San Tropez. Bergasol tanning oil- still love this and occasionally order it from France!

Oé deodorant, in a HUGE can and it was rank.

Just Seventeen brought out body sprays once, I remember one in a pink can, it was vile, I can feel the headache coming on just thinking of it
