The new loreal advert for hairspray got me thinking about my school days when Insette was the hairspray of choice. Hair never moved for weeks and you could practically snap it off. Vidal Sassoon that smelled like apples. Constant Carol that only did foundation in orange, oranger and orangist. Care to add yours Smile

Roll on lip gloss in strawberry flavour
Charlie perfume
Wash in hair colour and we used to put something on our hair to make it lighter -can't remember the name
Lipecote that stung like a bastard
White musk ( actually still use that )
Using pure coconut oil to sun bathe

SeaStrand · 16/07/2014 13:38

Loving all these! There was a bar of soap with an egyptian theme..very strong smelling, my friend used to love it..can't remember the name!!

thehappycrab81 · 16/07/2014 14:59

YES @SeaStrand I remember those soaps, they came in several different scents one had a black wrapper one a pink I think, and they had an add on TV with different queens/princess from Egypt using them. I cant remember the name though, grrr (goes to look on Google)

Also does anyone remember these horrors? (see pic)

AH HA!!!

see link for soap ad

Rivercam · 16/07/2014 15:03

Yes to shield soap which you can still buy.

thehappycrab81 · 16/07/2014 15:06

And this, I wanted the product so bad after seeing this

DoYouThinkSheSawUs · 16/07/2014 15:08

Has that apricot kernel exfoliated been mentioned yet? Think it was called apriscrub or something - was like liquidised sandpaper. Why did I think it was a good idea to wash my face with lots of little sharp bits of fruit nut in?!

thehappycrab81 · 16/07/2014 15:15

Yep @DoYouThinkSheSawUs here is the ad for the scrub

TractorTedMum · 16/07/2014 15:24

Have to say Aapri is the only stuff that actually helped get rid of dry skin, stuff nowadays just doesn't, plus its all plastic beads that clog up waste water treatment plants instead. Even those Japanese Washing Grains from The Body Shop, mentioned up thread, were rubbish in comparison.

Velocirapture · 16/07/2014 15:29

Anne French - oh yes
Harmony hair spray with the brown top for extra hold
Miners
Outdoor Girl cosmetics

Velocirapture · 16/07/2014 15:31

Limara body spray. I still mourn their "Green Summer" and the tune in the advert

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 16/07/2014 15:33

Geminesse perfume... how I wish I had a time machine to go back and get a fresh bottle now. It's horrendously expensive if you ever see it on ebay £'00s! Shock

Limara 'Green Summer', I'd pay anything for one of those body sprays...

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 16/07/2014 15:34

x-posted with you Velocirapture

WeeBlueWorm · 16/07/2014 16:17

Does anyone else remember the clear UV hair mascara that glowed under the blue lights in the night clubs?? I bought mine in Boots.

Greyhound · 16/07/2014 16:18

The 1980s -

Blue mascara
Purple mascara
Pink Shimmer Rimmel lipstick
Glittery hairspray
Glittery hair gel
Rubber twisty things to put in your hair and make it curly
Backcombing
Glitter to put on your cheekbones (I had a lot of glittery products)
Rimmel transparent lipgloss flavoured with strawberry
Shaders & Toners wash in / wash out hair colour
Henna hair-dye from the Body Shop - it stank and left clumps of seeds in your hair
Blue eyeliner
Blue eyeshadow
Bright pink mascara applied in diagonal stripes against cheekbones - highlighter on top and shader below
Pineapple face scrub from the Body Shop
Carrot moisturiser from the Body Shop
Other Body Shop products - soap shaped like fruits and scented,
Japanese Washing Grains, Camomile Shampoo

BikeRunSki · 16/07/2014 16:22

I used to dye my hair with food colouring. It was post it note-blonde in those days, and food colouring took really well.

SeaStrand · 16/07/2014 16:34

OMG happycrab…genius! HOW cheesy was that ad???!!! Brilliant!

thehappycrab81 · 16/07/2014 16:43

@SeaStrand. I know right! So cheesy, but I still bought the stuff. Pearl soaps packaging got me everytime with
that mother of pearl shine box

Socksarecosy · 16/07/2014 17:35

Used to get the Apri double sided pads. I think you van still buy Apri products

Socksarecosy · 16/07/2014 17:36

loulou282 · 16/07/2014 19:12

Charlie red perfume and impulse 02!

theblonde2000 · 16/07/2014 19:13

Oh my word, roll on body glitter. Everywhere. We must have looked like drag queens.

theblonde2000 · 16/07/2014 19:14

Oh and red/blue hair mascara - but just on the front bits. Natch.

BikeRunSki · 16/07/2014 20:33

Body Shop Japanese washing grains or something they were called. Basically facial scrub made from dried up, ground up beans. It stank.

SeaStrand · 16/07/2014 21:43

happycrab…yes Pearl soap!! I remember the lovely packaging…I'm an advertiser's dream I am...
