All mango links just go to the homepage for me. Is there a reason, does anyone know?

margaritasbythesea · 16/07/2014 22:08

Is there any chance the Darling Dorsays would fit me if I have slightly wide feet? I want snakeskin shoes! (stamps foot)

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 16/07/2014 22:12

Does it want you to select your country, first? That often happens w Zara

Brillenbar · 16/07/2014 22:54

Penguin sorry about the mango dress armholes are fine on me. If you like the draping maybe try this one, it's the same but it's got arms! shop.mango.com/GB/p0/women/sale/draped-side-fitted-dress/?id=23040122_02&n=1&s=rebajas_she&ident=0__0_1405546627310&ts=1405546627310

I love navy, or at least I learnt to once I'd got over the fact my school uniform was navy... I wear with cream, white, salmon pink, shades of blue, turquoise, teal, bright pink if it suits you, orange, navy ( as in navy top under navy suit) and even black. I like navy with tan shoes in the summer. And navy, and nude. In the winter, I wear with black boots but mainly because navy boots are hard to come by. I think navy is more versatile than black as a work basic

Ad for navy over

margaritasbythesea · 16/07/2014 23:26

No. It's frustrating. I can't ever see what you're all talking about!

Littlepinkpear · 16/07/2014 23:31

Belinda my Stories order turned up today, super quick too.

How a annoying for you.

What cream blouse was it? I am sending one back, might be the same one.

Am keeping the fringe blouse in ivory and black. I love them both.

OP posts:
BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/07/2014 04:02

It's the fringe blouse, pinkpear - I ordered both colours and the ivory is now sold out. Did you place your order online?

Bearleigh · 17/07/2014 05:12

Belinda the 'problem' with the African blouse is the pattern is so big: that is what drowns me. The blouse itself fits very well.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/07/2014 07:24

Bearleigh - I see what you mean.

Brillenbar · 17/07/2014 09:29

Belinda - I am sharing your &otherstories pain - I too had an "invisible" bag so could not check out online. Have placed a telephone order + received confirmation email so fingers crossed.

This is the bag I've ordered - seems a massive bargain at 38 www.stories.com/gb/Sale/Bags/Leather_bag_w_braid_detail/590753-677822.1 oddly I don't have a black work bag. Comes in a nude colour too which is also nice

Stokey · 17/07/2014 09:37

I hadn't look at their bags before - I kind of love the green reptile one. Wrong?

My best buy this year has been my & Other Stories black silk midi dress. I wore it in the winter with a long-sleeved t-shirt under it, in the summer with either a vest or nothing, and have worn it to work, dinner, a party and even a club. Versatility at its best.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/07/2014 10:03

Brillenbar - snap, I've just placed a phone order, too, as could not solve the IT problem, so went retro and used the phone. Danni from customer services was v nice and helpful so, am hoping the black fringes blouse and beige envelope style pouch are on their way to me. Ivory blouse had sold out. That black bag is lovely - I've admired it in real life. Looks quite luxe.

Stokey - I looked at that reptile bag but am not quite sure. I prefer the Ganni python clutch on sale at Atterley Road for £43, have you seen that? Similar, but cheaper and nicer IMO.

Stokey · 17/07/2014 10:44

ooh thanks Belinda. I hadn't seen it but have a wedding in a couple of weeks and it would be great as I have a slightly boring black & white dress to wear.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/07/2014 14:00

I hope it works out for you, Stokey

Bearleigh - that & Other Stories African print comes in a beautiful scarf, but its sold out online, so maybe that would work for you? I'm tempted, as I'd like something with that print, but the shirt and dress are likely to be too much for me, too.

Bearleigh · 17/07/2014 22:23

Thanks for the tip Belinda. I didn't see it in the Regentshop, but it was only a flying visit. But there are not huge numbers of people who could wear that print. Thinking about it it was the smaller sizes that were on display. Such a shame as it is a gorgeous print in gorgeous colours.

kikidee · 17/07/2014 23:05

Hello, just popping in to say I loved your post on flat shoes Belinda and was delighted to see my nude Autograph flats get an honourable mention. They are killing my feet though! I'm enjoying eyeing up everyone else's actual and prospective purchases whilst I'm sitting out my post holiday spending embargo. I had a quick look in Hobbs this week and the new season things were very lovely but so £££. New season discount codes should be on their way soon though I hope.

Romcom · 17/07/2014 23:26

Hey, long term lurker coming out here Wink really been enjoying these threads, and your blog Belinda! I got this skirt today and whilst not exactly workwear I think it was mentioned by noddy and Belinda up thread.
pretty skirt
I love it, but wonder how much I'll wear it/what to wear with it. I like how it's styled here.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 18/07/2014 07:30

kikidee - thank you! Oh no, the nude flats hurt? Why? They are also in the capsule wardrobe post I am preparing, but is taking an age due to the changeover in stock from old season to new season), but if they aren't any good, I will remove them.

It's interesting re flat shoes. I think that women want to wear heels, as they look better, but the reality is that we can't bear the pain of walking long distances in them, so often carry and wear flats. Since we will be wearing flats, regardless of our aesthetic preferences, there's no point ignoring them. Seems the retailers agree and it's great to see such a terrific range of them in the shops.

I don't think the full range of new season stock in the various brands is out, yet. Banana Republic have 25% off today between 10am - 3pm, though, if it helps?

Romcom - I think midi length, fuller skirts can work on dress down Friday? I would wear it w the highest heels you can and the smallest top you can (ie not bulky), which is what they have done on the H&M site. For the weekend, I would change the courts to strappy sandals.

Bearleigh · 18/07/2014 22:25

I think Belinda has mentioned before how she likes Queen Letizia of Spain's style. I agree: she often wears clothes that look like work wear (sometimes a little too conservative?) but I think this is a lovely outfit (sorry about Mail link):

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 19/07/2014 09:55

Bearleigh - she looks lovely in that outfit. Very elegant in those shades of grey.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 19/07/2014 11:24

Just dropping back in to say my Hobo Bag/790002H,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_790002H_color=75000&dwvar_790002H_size=ITM&start=31&cgid=accessories-bags jaegar bag arrived and I love it. Thanks to whomever recommended their bags on here!

The leather is beautiful and the hardware a really nice tone.

The colour is perfect too - listed as navy but actually it's an inky blue/grey/black. One of the those shades that seems to tone when paired with different colours.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 19/07/2014 11:26

last time then I'm giving up. Why aren't the square brackets working for me?!

m.jaeger.co.uk/Chadwick Hobo Bag/790002H,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_790002H_color=75000&dwvar_790002H_size=ITM&start=31&cgid=accessories-bags
