stokey oh no hope they don't stain.
Blair thank for the link, will pop there and get some for hols. I only wear Sp15 at the moment but am going on holiday and will need to up the factor, plus what with you all talking about it the other day it got me thinking I should look after my skin more in the sun and not be so blasé.
Nice summery dress Turq I wore the H&M dress Linus linked the other day and it's lovely, wish it came in other colours.
Fedup lovely dresses
QueenC and One I'm quite partial to Aldi Prosecco
Liberty hope you're not studying too hard on this lovely weather.

Just been to a fun activity day with the dc, gorgeous weather, now at home chilling and waiting for wine o' clock time. Grin

Drywhiteplease · 21/06/2014 17:35

AnnieL hello. Welcome to fashion heaven. We've all been there. Being a mum to young kids doesn't allow you a huge amount of time to spend on you but you really do get it back and it's such fun getting there. I keep trying to invest in considered classics, accessories mostly, to mix with my high st stuff. Stick around, you'll certainly find inspiration and temptation here Smile

Soooooo.......I was just pondering how funny life is deep post not coming up 24hrs ago I was dressed up to the nines, in fashion heaven, sipping champagne amounts the beautiful and not so people, then I'm in the queue at the fish counter at Sainsburys Sad back down to earth with a thud Grin

Still on a high.

Dry's Ascot fashion review

Lots of bright colour blocking (purple and fushia, orange and red)) eek
Some stunners.....spotted an exquisite Cream Chanel jacket that stopped me in my tracks.
Plenty of Chanel bags.
LK Bennet, Hobbs etc.
Black can be worn beautifully with nude/gold fancy that if I ever go again
One gorgeous blonde in dark red very fitted dress with a stunning gold tilted hat with the same red roses .
A model looking, v classy lady working a tweed sheath dress with black little hat and loads of pearls,v Chanel, stunning and beautiful bitch
A woman in an orange jumpsuit with small black hat and black shoe looked quirky but fantastic.
Some recycled clangers circa 1985....obv "serious" racegoers.
THE SHOES Shock Shock ..... just couldn't get over the platform nonsense ...I saw feet BLEEDING and women walking around barefoot at the end of the day. I wore kitten heels in the end and my feet were sore, these women were tough!
Men look gorgeous in tails even the ugly ones or was it the champagne

And SHOCKING SIGHT.....
I was posing on the stand taking it all in, waiting for the next race, when my friend told me to subtly look behind at the man in the kilt. He was sitting down not allowed! and displaying his Crown Jewels for all to see, IN THE ROYAL ENCLOSURE! Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock it was disgusting . I still feel physically sick just thinking about it! I DO NOT like to see strange meat and two veg on display anywhere THANK YOU VERY MUCH !Shock Grin honestly. And my friend caught my aghast face on photo, hilarious!

And finally I won on the last race! Grumpy just chose Louis the pious because it was Frnvpch sounding, won £165!!!!!

And it's a boy....very cute.

Sorry it's such a long one Smile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/06/2014 17:49

Lovely post Dry no apologies needed!! :) It sounds so much fun. OMG at kilt man, yuk!

OneLittleLady · 21/06/2014 17:57

yuck yuck yuck at kilt man dry but a lucky pick on the last race!

LinusDKD · 21/06/2014 19:41

Welcome annie

Sounds like you had a great time dry but bwoak about the kilt guy.

Oh and congratulations about your new nephew!

betty I haven't tried the moisturiser blair linked but another one of the same brand. The spf 50 but with anti-pigmentation stuff in it. It is nice but a bit too rich for my skin so I will use it on my cleavage. (I did start looking at that brand because Blair recommended it)

But when I bought it I also received a couple of samples of the SPF 30 for the face and that is wonderful and light and doesn't make my face shiny.

Oh no stokey I hope the Gigis will be ok. Mine survived a torrential downpoar in NY so they should be all right.

sleep there's an article in the Stylist digital magazine about tea at Sketch!

Love your dresses fedup great colours.

I seem to have bought a lot of summer dresses lately but they were not too £££ and we do tend to have hot summers here so I will wear them a lot.

queenc well done on the weightloss! Your weight is now my new target weight as it is what I weighed on my wedding day. Glad to hear your DD's are doing better.

MarshaBrady · 21/06/2014 19:44

Brilliant Dry! Although not the cough meat and veg, although you made me laugh Grin

Welcome Annie.

I'm going out with friends in my, wait for it, jumpsuit! I'm feeling brave tonight Wink

Didn't find anything in J Crew but got great Burberry pencil pants for work and that orange acne t from ages ago. Will find links later.

Have fun tonight marsha!

Just watching the Graham Norton Show I taped and I have to say Don Johnson has aged really well! And he still has that killer smile.

DSis and I used to watch Miami Vice when we were young and my parents were out for the night as we weren't allowed to watch it when they were home because it was too violent and full of drugs.

shopafrolic · 21/06/2014 20:27

Evening all. Welcome AnnieL I am a SAHM to a 3yo DS. This thread has been my style salvation. Do stick around. Everyone is ace.
Dry huge congrats to AuntieDry. How lovely. Ascot sounds fab (apart from kilt man). You and DH looked fabulous Envy
My day has been horrid. My parents are currently on hols. They are in their late 70s. While I've been looking after the house for them it has become apparent that the levels of cleanliness have taken a complete nose dive. So today, DH and I have spent the whole day stripping kitchen cupboard! bleaching everything! throwing out out of date food and scrubbing everything to within an inch of it's life. We have to go back tomorrow and that is only one room. :( really tough to realise things are getting on top off them.
So no style news here.
Liberty thanks for posting the sweatshirt - you're a star xx
Marsha have a fab time. You'll rock the jumpsuit.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/06/2014 20:35

Marsha have fun. Glad the jumpsuit is getting an airing and the shopping sounds good.

for shop, that does sound hard. Hopefully they're having a lovely time on holiday. But it's horrible when you realise you're worrying about your parents isn't it? It should be the other way round... My mum is only 55 but my dad died 3 years ago and I already worry about the fact that she is on her own. Just want her to be happy really.

DP has a couple of mates round which was a last minute thing, so of course I am doing the cooking Hmm but got a large glass of Wine Grin while they smoke in the garden (ugh!). It's still so lovely and warm.

Drywhiteplease · 21/06/2014 20:37

Oh Shop it's horrid when you realize that the people who always coped in your family suddenly can't and that you gradually become the parent to your own parents. Very sad. But I'll bet they appreciate what you're doing for them. Grin

shopafrolic · 21/06/2014 20:40

I hope they do Dry but I fear they may see it as interfering. I emptied two crates of out of date food out of their cupboards. Shock
Veal in a tin from 1997 anyone?

LinusDKD · 21/06/2014 20:52

shop (((hugs)))

My DP' are in their late sixties and are doing well but I do worry about what will happen in 10 years time. Both DSis and I live abroad so who will take care of them when they need it?

shopafrolic · 21/06/2014 21:05

My DB lives abroad Linus so it's down to me to do the physical stuff. The next few years will be tough I think.

LinusDKD · 21/06/2014 21:26

My DSis lives on the other side of the world so it'll be down to me as well.

shopafrolic · 21/06/2014 21:29

We can console each other Linus

LinusDKD · 21/06/2014 21:38

Wine shop

santamarianovella · 21/06/2014 21:52

The German coach has fabulous hair Grin

annielewis · 21/06/2014 22:31

Oooh lovely have found you all on Pinterest! I'm on there under same name if anyone wants to find me..

Dry what is it with men in skirts needing to let it all hang out!!!! Bleugh!

shop we are going through that with my Gran (89yrs) Shes a stubborn old thing and resists a lot of attempted intervention! GOod luck - am dreading it when my parents need it too!

Am so glad I am no longer lurking, thanks all for the welcome!

BrandyAlexander · 21/06/2014 23:18

Dry Shock at your kilt story. Glad you had a lovely day. And congrats on being an Auntie!Wine

Hello Annie, welcome! Glad you're sticking around. Everyone on this thread has different budgets from high end to various points in the high street to charity so please don't be intimidated. What's great is everyone loves clothes, we all have different styles, there is no judgment and people are lovely.

Marsha, bet you're looking fab.

Turquoise and (Linus?) love the dress links.

QueenC, glad to hear your dds are doing well.

Shop, sorry to hear about your parents. If you were to see my house, I am totally and utterly anal about cleanliness and having a spotless house even when the dcs were tiny. I got that from my parents. It's weird that dms standards have slipped with age. Know how you feel. X

bettykt · 22/06/2014 07:02

Sound like you had an awesome day Dry well apart from the man in the kilt.

Shop sorry to hear about your parents. My DM is in her 70s and I want her to move closer to me but she won't.

Marsha bet the jumpsuit looks great.

Dc have been up since 5.30 they're such early risers. Not a glamorous day here for me, will be bike riding with the dc. Last time I attempted to look half decent by wearing my NB trainers I got oil over them so todayIll be wearing my battered old Converse and harems possibly.

shopafrolic · 22/06/2014 07:45

That's the thing Novice - my DM used to have really high standards. Now they could appear on a Kim and Aggie show :(

QueenCadbury · 22/06/2014 08:03

Morning. shop as an only child I dread my parents getting old too. PIL are old and up north so difficult to look after them. Do yours live locally?
dry sounds fabulous. Although I'm more perturbed at bleeding feet than meat and veg Grin

shopafrolic · 22/06/2014 08:07

Mine do live locally (15 mins away) QueenC. One of the reasons why we won't move anywhere else as I am the only one around........
I am still in shock about how bad the place was. DS was playing trains in the living room while we cleaned. He came in and his hands were black. He looked at me and said "Mummy, Grandma and Grandpa's house is so dirty" :(

annielewis · 22/06/2014 09:07

Morning - another beautiful one here. Went shopping yesterday and finally got some patterned harem- y type trousers. Been wanting to get some for ages but a lot of them are too billowy or didn't like the pattern. Found these though in M and S.
trousers

Soooo comfy! What are you all wearing/buying this weekend? Enjoy the sun..

Turquoiseblue · 22/06/2014 10:16

Nice trousers Annie! I want to be able to wear harem s but they just don't suit me.
Dry- fabulous post! Love the fashion round up. And that s my kind of way of betting Wink ( that or liking the colours of the jockey s outfit lol)
Marsha - jumpsuit ! Good job. I loved that acne Tee t, glad you got it. Ok 4
