Dry sounds like you had an amazing day and congrats to you being an auntie.

QueenC well done on the weight loss, that's my target too

Marsha hope you find some lovely things in JCrew

An activity day out with the dc today. Haven't decided what to wear yet though. Might wear one of the £5 Primarni bandeau dresses I bought yesterday

Can't remember who was talking a while back about an SPF 50 moisturiser, Linus, Liberty? I need to get some for my holiday, was it an Aussie brand?

QueenCadbury · 21/06/2014 08:34

Oh my god.....I've just had my ocado delivery come. Usually have it on a Friday lunchtime (.when I obv look presentable) and it's usually an older man. Bloody typical that today's driver was young and bloody gorgeous Grin. I think my tongue may have actually hung out Grin. And there I am in my pjs with boobs somewhere down south, hair unbrushed etc Blush!!

Yes, I do feel gd about the weightloss although I haven't intentionally been trying to lose weight but just to keep my weight around 9st4 (I tend to pile on a few pounds after an excessive weekend and creep up towards 9st7 if I don't keep it in check). I've been doing the 5:2 adhoc ( basically on the days I feel that I can face it so usually just once a week) and I'm surprised that I've lost so much. I wouldn't want to lose anymore because my clothes will fall off and I'll look too skinny.

fedup you could always rinse the dress again and iron?

betty I'm a on a school activity trip on Tuesday including pond dipping. No idea what to wear. Not sure activity can ever equate to style!

Stokey · 21/06/2014 08:51

Morning all. I've got a picnic to go to this evening, sort of thing I struggle with as I know it will get cold. Skinnies and new Gigi's maybe with a shirt and jacket?

And am doing a 1st aid course that I signed up for months ago at nursery. Gutted when the weather is so nice, would much rather spend the day in the garden!

Good luck with J- Crew Marsha

MarshaBrady · 21/06/2014 08:54

I was about to send back the jumpsuit to Asos but their site is down due to a fire. Looks very serious.

Good morning everyone! What a beautiful day-I am having a quiet cup of tea in the garden in my shorts, DH out cycling, kids pottering around. Bliss.

Dry so glad you enjoyed yesterday, you and DH looked fabulous! Congrats on new baby too!

I have no fashion news - was planning to hit Selfridges yesterday but you all put me off and it was such a lovely day I came over all strange and went for a run around the park! My first one this year but thought I might try it, so that I get some reasonable running fitness for when we are away in the summer hols and I can't kickbox etc, I don't want to be quite as lazy as I usually am for six weeks, the shock and pain on re-entry is too hard Grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 21/06/2014 09:59

Just finished breakfast at our lovely hotel, DH is working on his phone so taking the opportunity for a swift Hi. So pleased you had a good day Dry. As expected, I couldn't find you! (Despite it possibly being the quietest day I have ever experienced at RA). We bumped into friends we haven't seen in ages and ended up spending much of the day with them. Car park shenanigans continued until after dark - DH and I broke away at 10.30pm, leaving them to it. Back again this morning, once I'm dressed Wink

annielewis · 21/06/2014 11:01

Morning - so here goes with the intro.

Am 37 SAHM with 2 DC's aged 1 and 3. Have been lurking as feel more than a little intimidated by your impressive budgets and dress sizes, feel a little inadequate to say the least! However I need to get a handle on my style for my own sanity. Am doing 5:2 diet when I remember but have lost motivation a bit. Have been hanging around the S and B boards for a bit but always get drawn back to yours..... :)

Last thing I've bought were some Gigi's (black). Can't link at mo, I'm sure you all know what they look like anyway though!!

As my MIL would say I am after a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget..... only slightly true but I do love a bargain and am petrified on wasting money on things that I end up not wearing or liking. Also as am trying to lose weight I don't want to buy things that will be too big in a few months.

Anyway, enough of the long ramble, I will probably continue to absorb all your knowledge quietly in a corner with my pile of glossy magazines.... hope you are all enjoying this fantastic sunshine and have a lovely weekend.

bettykt · 21/06/2014 11:24

Hi Annie if you've been lurking you'll know I'm a newbie too. Like you I'm after a champagne clothing lifestyle on a lemonade budget. Bought 2 PrimarniPrimak £5 bandeau dresses yesterday for holidays 100% cotton. I believe with clothes/fashion it's not what you wear but how you wear it. I too am a SAHM with primary age dc. Believe it or not being on this thread albeit a short while has made me consider my clothing choices a bit more. Tried a dress on yesterday and was imming (sp) and ahhhing about it in the dressing room and I thought you know what I don't love it, I probably won't wear it and it will linger at the back of the wardrobe. I just want to make considered purchases hence haven't gone crazy in the sales. Anyway enough about me, welcome and please stick around.

Turquoiseblue · 21/06/2014 11:28

Hi Annie, - welcome! And hi to all the other newbies I missed too - been dipping in and out a bit!
Dry - congrats on being an auntie again. Aunties are the best! And woohoo glad you had a great day. Come back and tell us all!
Marsha - asos fire, sound serious. Hope no one was injured or anything. Remember the refund I was waiting for - i got an email about it on Tuesday - that s over a month later !!!!! No responses to tweets, fb, no way to contact customer services. I would only buy from them if it were something I had tried on previously and knew I would defiantly want, and was massively reduced.... Actually there was such a palaver with the delivery too now I think of it,, I think I wouldn't be keen to shop with them again really.
Know what you mean about not being sure about something that s a departure from your style too. I think I would try it less full on then for a night out, maybe with nice flats and belt , see if it worked then and once you and tried it once it might be feel better about it? Does that even make sense?

OneLittleLady · 21/06/2014 11:52

Welcome to Annie stick around, I'm a high street girl as well. I do have the odd expensive thing but I am the absolute master of bargain shopping so nothing ever costs me much! Budgets don't matter here, everyone's welcome to join in whether it's champagne or aldi fizzy wine!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/06/2014 12:18

Morning all, what a gorgeous day! Had a late breakfast outside but have retreated back in now as it's just so hot.

Dry congrats to your sis! And glad your day was as good as you hoped, sounds fab.

Marsha I saw that about the asos fire on facebook, they said no one was hurt but it sounds pretty serious. They will be losing loads of money.

betty I recommended this facial SPF to Linus, not sure if she has tried it yet. I get it in Waitrose.

Welcome annie, are you on pinterest? We all follow each other over there too which can be good for off-thread inspiration. My budget allows me to sometimes splurge, but I never impulse buy and nothing is better than a great discount or finding a high street gem Grin

annielewis · 21/06/2014 12:41

Ooooh thanks everyone - yes I am on pinterest, how do I find you all there?

betty nice to hear from another SAHM, I really fins it hard when you don't have work as an excuse/reason to look good, its hard knowing what to wear when you're just going to be schlepping round the park all day! All clothing etc must be toddler proof too - I'd cry if they ruined something that was expensive and that I loved! Talking of which, I am doing the same as you too if - I don't absolutely LOVE it I'm not buying it!

QueenCadbury · 21/06/2014 13:13

annie I'm a sahm too with 3 dc (8,6,3). This thread has been great for me for inspiration and spending too much money and support about fadhion and non fashion related things.

one nothing wrong with Aldi fizz. Their prosecco is good although I can get waitrose stuff cheaper on offer at ocado at the moment.

Cooking curry for friends tonight so will need to think about what to wear. Nothing white-I don't want curry stains all over me Grin

Turquoiseblue · 21/06/2014 13:44

Hi all
this dress has served me well on holidays - and it s on sale now!
Have worn it with tan gladiators (old) and blue sandals (dune) and blue/ gold belt. I took out the pockets and sewed up the pocket seams though as it s quite light and You could see the pockets through it.

OneLittleLady · 21/06/2014 13:53

queen I know there's nothing wrong with aldi fizz, when I could drink I used to get it with the weekly shop and mix it with cranberry juice. it was lush!

The only thing I've bought recently is a black, lace trim kimono from primark as I was sweltering in cardigans but needed something to keep the sun off my shoulders and back as I'm so sensitive to the sun.

Fedupnagging · 21/06/2014 14:15

Phew, maxi dress is restored to normal and since I can't find a link (it's last years), I am going to attempt to link a photo. Hope it works. Will wear with my gigi's rather than heels as I am hosting and will no doubt be rushing around. Don't want to trip and fall!

Liberty the Laura Ashley dress is pinks and bronze stripes, the fabric is slightly crushed and it has a beaded neckline. It is about 3 years old but I love it. Again, will try to link a photo.

Annie, I have culled at least half of my wardrobe, both summer and winter since being on here! I also won't buy unless I love it so consequently, dont have an awful lot in my wardrobe ATM. Am struggling with the not wanting to be mutton dressed as lamb or frumpy.

OneLittleLady · 21/06/2014 14:21

fedup the Laura Ashley dress is beautiful. I think it would be lovely for the event you have coming up. What shoes and bag would you choose to go with it?

libertychick · 21/06/2014 14:28

You are very welcome anniel. We are all bargain hunters here. BTW it takes time to get a wardrobe of clothes you like together - I decided about 2 years ago to try and up my game and it's only now really that I am starting to feel I am getting confident with my style. I'm here on pinterest and I am following all the regulars on here.

Well done on the weight loss QueenC and good to hear everyone is ok.

Asos fire does sound quite serious. What a nightmare sorting that out will be...

Lovely dress turq.

I've had a nice morning meeting friends for coffee with DD, studying now and then going to a BBQ later for a 3rd birthday party.

Shop I have posted the J Crew Camo sweater to you this morning - sent first class so you should have it Monday.

libertychick · 21/06/2014 14:31

Fedup I like the maxi and the Laura Ashley dress is beautiful Smile

Fedupnagging · 21/06/2014 14:42

I will probably wear some cream suede wedges with the dress One as they looked really nice the last time. Also easy to stand around and dance in. I have a salmon coloured envelope clutch which goes pretty well this one

Fedupnagging · 21/06/2014 14:44

I hit post too soon - meant to say that is a lovely white dress Turq, really cool and fresh looking.

Anniel, I am on pin too under the same name. Not a lot on my boards though as keep forgetting to post stuff.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/06/2014 15:01

Both the dresses you linked pics of are lovely fedup and I think you could definitely wear the LA one to your cocktail event.

annie my pinterest is here but maybe easiest to link yours and then everyone can follow you? (remember to make sure RL name isn't on it!) :)

Went to garden centre, wearing Dorothy perkins grey maxi skirt and peach vest, denim jacket and Dune black slides. Not often I get to talk about casual clothes on here as mostly I just slob about at weekends.

Stokey · 21/06/2014 17:00

Welcome Annie

Yes we need toddlerproof clothes. Was just coming on here for some sympathy as Dd2 aged 2 has just done a wee on one of my brand new Gigi's. I have housed it down and am hoping for the best but looks like I may need alternate footwear for picnic tonight Hmm

Love the holiday dress Turq
Laura Ashley dress also great Fed up

Stokey · 21/06/2014 17:01
