I go to book club and have to catch up on pages and pages of chat Grin. Have only done a quick skim read...
shop will you wear the bikers enough to justify cpw? I know they are different boots but you've spent so long putting together a fabulous autumn coloured wardrobe and will black boots go with all that? I'd keep the pistols. If bikers are just for Sunday lunch, how often does that happen?
annie we only know each other's style because we spend far too much time on here discussing clothes. Believe me, give it a couple more months and you'll know our styles too. We can help you develop your style so stick around.
linus safe journey and look forward to meeting you
amber I asked because I have a tiny cupboard for shoes but don't own many and was just wondering where I would put more. I do, however, have a much bigger cupboard for handbags!
luckystar hello Smile

Good news is that dh has given me spending money. 3/4 of what I asked for so result Grin. He's also going to increase what he 'pays' me each month as he's realised that I have none left over to save spend.

AmberNectarine · 04/07/2014 07:49

Exactly decam I'm saving.

shop, shall I be helpful and mention I paid £36 for my Pistols in the Matches clearance store? ;) Honestly, they are such a useful boot, I don't think you'd regret them. HOWEVER, I think bikers are hotter for A/W14.

Urgh knackered today. Had a bit of a wringer of an evening. Never mind, onwards and upwards.

So gutted to be missing MU. Come hell or high water I'll be at the next one.

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2014 08:02

Shop I think you should keep the pistols and send back the Choos.

Because, luckily even though it's hard to imagine now, we always spend so long in coats at winter. So you should keep the one which will give you the greatest cpw.

There will be other lovely AW stuff that you can go wild with then too.

Annie have a lovely day. Be fab to know what you find.

Liberty lovely stuff.

The weather is incredible today all sun, but raining tomorrow!

Also I'm like Sleep atm with school stuff and we have a school assembly in the morning until 12.30 and swimming lesson which I could have let dh do but he'll have to do the school thing. Anyway I'll be as fast as possible after that, I usually get home at 1.00 after swimming then will come in.

Save me a spot Grin but obvs don't wait for me to start everything.

Marsha, QueenC, lib, shop did you get my pm last night? I am rubbish at sending them as I don't always get it right. Sat on Tarmac waiting to take off. Wearing Ann Taylor summer dress, AtwoodsWink with black jacket and grey suede mulberry.

Annie, I am rubbish at spotting things for others though now, if someone puts something up here and say is it me, I can say yes or no.

Shop the bikers are me, pistols are youGrin

libertychick · 04/07/2014 08:40

Ooops - sorry about linking stuff people were considering! But glad I helped you make a decision Lucky Wink and I hope you got the scarf Decam.

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2014 08:46

Novice I didn't get your pm. Are you coming tomorrow, I saw talk of Heathrow so perhaps you are away!

OP posts:
libertychick · 04/07/2014 08:48

Annie Flowers I know those days. Hope you have a good time today. It's easy to start feeling insecure when others seem so clear about their style but actually on most weekend days I am just in skinnies, a T and converse. I wore a dress to work yesterday that I decided it needs to go straight to the charity shop as it just doesn't suit me.

Go easy shopping, it takes ages to get a decent wardrobe of clothes together. Try and treat discovering your style as a little adventure that's all about you and accept it will take a year or two. Also well worth considering doing HoC colours or style day and that seems to helps lots of people or book a personal shopper somewhere like John Lewis and you'll get lots of ideas.

Also lots of us have met each other which makes it really easy to spot each other's style. The MU is in central London but obviously not going to put location on here. It starts at 1pm and based on previous experience may well go on till very late. If you would like to pop along for even an hour send me a pm.

LinusDKD · 04/07/2014 08:49

Morning!

I have just arrived in my hotel, yay!

Quick change (it's hot today!) and then I'm hitting the shops.

First stop: Boots. How glamourous. Grin

libertychick · 04/07/2014 08:49

No I didn't get your pm Novice

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2014 08:49

Linus welcome! Grin

Have a wonderful day! The weather is amazing today.

Woo hoo - Linus has landed. Boots is a great place to start - get the essentials out of the way first.

BrandyAlexander · 04/07/2014 08:50

Gah! Damn!

Yes I will be there tomorrow, though late as usual as can't leave before the dcs lessons are done.

I am on a quick day trip. 3 back to back meetings. I will be back by 7pm.

maradesbois · 04/07/2014 08:58

Morning,

Had my interview yesterday for course, it went so much better than i expected. The course director is so dynamic and inspiring, she really helped me overcome my nerves and enjoy it. Anyway, she ended up offering me a place on the spot. Am so happy. It's my pathway back into paid work which is a good job as its dangerously close to matches!

To celebrate I ended up going into town and bought a dress from dvf sale have had my eye on for ages and now reduced to 50% plus a bag from smythson with same discount. Will link later.

Weather is so lovely today am hoping the bad forecast for tomorrow is an error...

shop I agree with all those telling you to keep black pistols. They are so useful, a great wardrobe staple and the right height to make legs look longer (not that I think you need that from what is said here!) but still comfortable to walk round in all day.

one congratulations on having 'the chat', even if its not for now good to know that you and dp are on the same page for what you want.

linus safe trip.

liberty nice sales buys.

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2014 08:58

Excellent Novice. Have a good day, hope it's not too bad at the airport (although I missed what was going on!)

I'll be a little late too.

Mara fabulous! Where is your course, is it London?

OP posts:
maradesbois · 04/07/2014 09:16

marsha yes, in central London. Very exciting! Have deferred entry until next sep though as don't even have a house, schools etc here yet. Am loving the London life already, met an old friend for drinks yesterday in Chelsea. Loads of nice bars with tables outside, scent of jasmine in the air, beautiful.

Ok, this is dress. It's for a black tie dinner but wanted something not too formal that can wear again.

maradesbois · 04/07/2014 09:22

Bag is this shape in this colour. Will take me nicely into a/w not that today is the time to be thinking about that! Getting my initials on the tag too in gold stamp.

shopafrolic · 04/07/2014 09:22

Novice I didn't get your PM - feel free to email me instead?
Linus have fun today - it's going to be a scorcher in town from the looks of things.
Mara huge congratulations - sounds brilliant.

shopafrolic · 04/07/2014 09:24

Lovely purchases Mara
Interesting how different the DVF pics of the dress are from the catwalk pics - reinforces the fact that you can never tell what things look like until you try them on.
Still totally undecided about the boots. Will definitely keep the Pistols. Just need to see if I can bear to be parted from the Choos.

maradesbois · 04/07/2014 09:29

Sorry for all the posts but am stuck in bed until ds wakes up. Dh's temporary London accommodation is so 'compact' am scared to get a shower or make coffee. Had a late one last night, he wouldn't usually sleep until this time but still out for the count despite tube noise, people moving bins, being on flight path for heathrow etc!

maradesbois · 04/07/2014 09:32

shop you're so right. I put the catwalk pic on my pin as the dress looks like nothing on the hanger, needs movement. Would never have even tried it on if the s/a hadn't convinced me to give it a go and turned out to be 'the one'.

I would love choo bikers as well as my pistols, different kind of boot so would both get wear as linus says. Ok someone is stirring...back later

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2014 09:50

Mara that is a beautiful dress, it does look great with movement on the catwalk, it's gorgeous. How exciting about study will so much fun to be in central London.

Shop yep good one, one decision down. Pistols stay. You could keep the Choos too, they are different enough imo

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 04/07/2014 09:51

Right - decision made. Bikers are going back.
I love, love, love them but I can't really afford both (or bring myself to spend nearly £1k on boots in one hit). If I miss them I can get them at another time as I think they are available each year.
Might be of interest to some but I called the store in Bicester, they have the Youth Biker in Military (dark brown suede with a waxed toe) for £398, and tan, khaki or plum ones for £287. So I may take a trip there at some point instead..........
Keeping the Pistols - breathes sigh of relief and mops brow!

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2014 09:58

Or do that Grin

Good one Shop great decision making process. It was tough but you did it.
