dry its a pink macaroon with fresh raspberries, lychees and rose cream. Went down v well but so time consuming will not be attempting again any time soon!

santamarianovella · 22/06/2014 22:40

Oh mara I've tried this cake, its absolutely delish, but looks very complicated, well done

libertychick · 22/06/2014 23:48

Anni I'm looking forward to seeing the shorts - I need some.

Drywhiteplease · 23/06/2014 07:51

mara I buy it!!!!!!
Today I'm dressed like this...ish
these
this
A grey slouchy t from Gap, my new Mint V necklace. Thinking Amber. Dd doesn't like the top but I'm ignoring her. I've been saving the skirt for "special" and thinking it's not practical for work and also a bit "out there" Grin for my collegues, but sod it! I'll never wear it if I don't.
Anyone else save stuff for "special"? And it never gets worn.
Have a goid day all. Smile

AmberNectarine · 23/06/2014 08:44

Love that outfit dry, bet you look fab!

Stokey · 23/06/2014 08:44

Love the outfit Dry. I used to save things, but try not to now. I am slightly struggling with what to wear with pencil skirts. I find shirts and shells blouse out a bit and make me look big round the waist. Tees are a bit casual for my work.

Sorry to hear about your parents Shop. It's so tough as they get older and roles are reversed. I worry about DM too as she is in Australia. She is fine now, but in her late 60s and don't know what will happen if she gets ill.

How was everyone's weekend outfits? I felt a bit off the fashion pulse. I went to Hyde Park yesterday and was wearing a dress, but was probably in a minority. Lots of denim shorts, playsuits, jumpsuits and patterned trousers.

Maybe I need to get some denim shorts and baggy vests in the sales. My thighs are definitely my problem area though so not sure about drawing attention to them!

Anyone else have days when they feel fashion has passed them by?

Annianni · 23/06/2014 08:55

Have you tried the silk iris & ink tees that The Outnet do Stokey?
You'd get the same look, just a bit smarter.

Love that outfit Dry.

annielewis · 23/06/2014 09:10

Morning all - was someone on here needing Asos for something (a return?) They are back up and running on the site now...... :)

bettykt · 23/06/2014 09:31

Great outfit Dry I bought some leopard print heels for going out but as I don't go out much I don't get an opportunity to wear them much and really want to start wearing them during the day but as a SAHM I'll be wearing them around Tesco Grin but I suppose why not?

Stokey Saturday I felt good about what I was wearing I wore the H&M maxi dress that Linus linked last week and my Gigi alikes from Next yesterday I wore a cheapo bandeau dress from primark which was fine for going out and about with the dc again and wore the same sandals, wasn't a wow outfit but it was okay. I tried on a playsuit last week in town and it really didn't suit me at all and I'm going off shorts too, I prefer to wear something to the knee and am getting into cotton dresses atm.

Today I'm wearing my new slash neck Phase 8 top, with some bootcut jeans and tan Russell & Bromley loafers.

libertychick · 23/06/2014 09:55

Lovely outfit Dry. I haven't worn this dress yet. I think I will probably wear it to the MU and then start wearing it to work after that.

Stokey I wore J Brand khaki cargos on Saturday with a white Fat Face sleeveless blouse, these sandals and green/aqua necklace and bangles for a coffee date with friends and then a BBQ. Yesterday I wore a very old circle style Zara linen navy, white and brown knee length skirt with a navy scoop neck t, same sandals. Working from home today wearing the same skirt, different navy T Grin. I only wear shorts in the garden and on holidays. I wouldn't wear them out for the day as my thighs are not my best feature and I'd just feel self conscious.

santamarianovella · 23/06/2014 10:04

Fab outfit dry I'm a bit like this ,save stuff for special occasions but hardly wear them,so I've been trying to wear them as much as possible,

stokey I was at the park too, lots of tiny denim shorts, some looked good ,but a lot looked really not so good Grin tiny denim shorts don't look great when you are sitting on the grass with crossed legs,
I might get the Maddie and the destructed boyfriends from gap, though sales are on most premium denim shorts are full priced, and I can't justify spending that much on shorts,

bettykt · 23/06/2014 10:16

santa I have those Maddie shorts. I really like them, find them very flattering. Size down though, obvs, it's Gap.

QueenCadbury · 23/06/2014 11:28

shop how you doing? When do your parents get back?
dry nice outfit, bet you look fab
stokey I often have days when I feel that fashion has passed me by. On the whole I love to dress nicely but I have some days when I just cannot be arsed. Yesterday I wore short shorts (bought for honeymoon and probably too short to wear 10 years later!) and a vest. It's hard in this weather to look good I think as too much effort can look too try hard iyswim.
liberty lovely dress. If it's this hot I've no idea what I'll wear to mu. I need to be dressed for travelling and shopping.

QueenCadbury · 23/06/2014 11:41

Forgot to say that yes, I am guilty of keeping things for special jaegar blouse because I would be upset if anything ruined it. Completely no logic at all as better to be worn and ruined than never worn at all.

I do also have things allocated for best/going out but that's because I like to have separate wardrobes for my adult life and sahm life.

cartoontrickster · 23/06/2014 12:14

hi all
just at a service station on our way back from Devon, had a lovely few days! finally got to wear some zara shorts I'd had in my wardrobe for a year unworn.
also managed to fit in a bit of shopping and got me some primarni goodies.
liberty and BlairI just clicked on your links and am now following u on pin, can't link mine as I use my rl name.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/06/2014 13:55

Following you back cartoon and also annie :)

Dry there is a good tip (I think in the book You Are What You Wear) which says you should downgrade all your clothes by 1 level in order to wear them more (ie evening clothes to smart daytime, smart daytime to casual daytime, etc). I'm definitely guilty of not doing this though - but usually only with my most expensive clothes. (Still only worn Stella skirt once.)

Stokey I definitely have "unfashionable" days most weekends, it must be exhausting to constantly plan good outfits unless you are a fashion editor or blogger. I need to get back on top of my spreadsheet!

Cake sounds delicious mara.

Less than 2 weeks to go until MU Shock it's come so quickly! As QueenC says, hope it's not too hot.

shopafrolic · 23/06/2014 14:02

Hey QueenC - doing ok. Folks are back later this week. Been there this morning, just grabbing a sandwich and then heading back with DS who can play while I carry on cleaning.
Liberty the parcel has arrived. Will try it later - let me know how best to pay you Thanks
Marsha all ok?
Sorry not to be more involved in the thread ATM - will be back when I don't look like Mrs Mop :)

libertychick · 23/06/2014 14:19

Just pay me at the MU Shop, hope it's ok.

I have followed several new people this morning so I assume you are among them cartoon Smile

BrandyAlexander · 23/06/2014 15:06

Hello all! Hurrah, hurrah! Ds did his settling in at the pre-prep this morning and didn't have a total meltdown. In fact, no meltdown at all. Just happy to go in there and said "see you later mummy". My mouth was like this --->Shock

Am working at home today and busy day in with both the decorators, audio visual guys here. We are extending our wireless sounds system to include the garden. Apparently we can have speakers in the garden disguised as rocks and plants. Who knew??!!

Fashion wise, I am wearing an orange Ann Taylor ruched top with side tie and beige capri trousers. It was boiling hot earlier but has cooled down now.

libertychick · 23/06/2014 15:54

Speakers in the garden are fab novice. We hid ours in a bench on the deck though Grin. How fantastic to have ones that look like rocks. Well done to your DS. What a little trooper!

My WC order arrived and it's all going back. This cardi is just all wrong on me, I can't seem to do unstructured cardigans, the skirt actually sits on the waist and so is shorter on me than on the model (I'm only 5ft 6) and even though it's lined it's completely see through. I really wanted to love this top as it feels gorgeous and I love the colour. But it's one of those things that looks great if I stand still all pigeon toed with hands jammed in pockets and shoulders raised but as soon as I stand like a normal person I just look fat in it Grin Boo.
