You are well rid of CrossFit, OPM. My cousin worked there briefly (probably at the one you went to) and he said it is like a cult.

I am tired of salad.

MrsS - funny that - the 'c' word had occurred to me, so very interesting that someone who actually worked at one of the CrossFit boxes thought it like a cult too.

I went and whined piteously to my personal trainer about it and he said he will teach me to do pull-ups. I think this may be a case of "be careful what you wish for" Confused.

I have been shopping for hols today and found this, which I love! Shows my shoulders (tick), hangs nicely off the boobs (tick) and hides everything from below the boobs to the knees....perfect. I shall waft through the summer, eating whatever I like!

older crepeys are divine?

"Older Crepeys" makes us sound as if we are on zimmer frames - a bunch of game old girls in their 80s and 90s!

'Crepeys in the long grass of life' is my suggestion!

Sounds vaguely frolicky Grin

The Daily Crepigraph?

I like that dress BTM but think I may look scrawny in it - I need to try almost everything these days at it's completely hit and miss what, if anything, looks reasonable. I will now settle for reasonable as nothing makes me go wow and feel like a princess anymore.

Painters here nice and early today, next week they do our bedroom, which means we will have to lug our mattress downstairs and camp in the living room. Whilst the DC's sleep in an available corner.

I refuse to be an older crepey......

Hatty that's a bit :( - although I think its a bit how I feel. I realise now that up to about 45 I looked pretty good in most things (was thin), now with boobs, and fat I don't know how to dress!

Guy came to look at bathroom (also got a horrendous quote back, looked and plans and went 'hmm, where's the bath!!') and is a sub contractor - we'd probably get it cheaper if we went direct with him......
Under floor heating is crossed off saving some money.....

Hatty and BD, sympathies on house improvement front - the kitchen is completely unusable ATM which makes even getting packed lunches together rather stressful. I am hoping it may be slightly better next week.

BTM, these sandals - fancy them, or shall I just exchange?

It certainly doesn't make me feel like a princess! But like you, I settle for reasonable.....

Am making quiche for old people coming to lunch! Luckily my kitchen is back together, apart from the large pile of rubble where the patio used to be.

Woot! Checked the Clarks website again, and the shoes are now 50% off! And, naturally, ordered.

I find few things make me feel 'wow', except my Viv W dress. And one of my Sainsbury's dresses, oddly, which is a little bit Joan Holloway.

I've just had helpful email from Indian visa lot saying my application was incomplete. I can see where, now (have a printout). So will have to start again when I get passport etc back. On the other hand this should be simple enough and at least I had the sense to send a cheque rather than pay online!

Glad visa is coming together MI. You didn't tell us about the House of Commons yesterday. I love those sandles by the way.

Beachy and BTM - don't know now you manage with the kitchen out of action - I think we'll have to wait a couple of years before we do that. One good thing about having teenagers is that it has been much easier to clear out, move heavy furniture etc, as can get all hands on deck.

HoC was interesting meeting but yet another client who doesn't actually know what they want me to produce as a result!

Report
bigTillyMint · 02/07/2014 10:41

I am not really managing! It is pretty stressful and it will be worse until Monday I think as the floor man is coming and everything has to be moved into one space whilst the other half is done. Amongst all the plaster dust, rubble, tools.... I think I will have to somehow move some more bits into the sitting room which is already filled with huge packing boxes...

Or maybe we can set up in the garden, with a lead through the window?!

Am feeling completely wrung out, but fear this is partly due to the kitchen work which I wanted done and I am dealing with myself to avoid yet more confrontations with DH...

Report
bigTillyMint · 02/07/2014 10:43

Oh and MI, lovely though they are, I don't think I can remotely justify yet another pair!

Report
hattymattie · 02/07/2014 10:45

BTM - you need to cling on to the fact that it will all be worth it in the end but I agree the dust and dirt and general upheaval is hateful. Especially if you already have other issues and BP.

Yes, trying hard to see the light. And my builder is lovely. DH was chuckling as he overheard him telling the plasterer exactly how he should be doing things as it was in the style of DH's mum - he is a bit of a control freak!
