Glad about returning husbands...

QQ, those open days are exhausting....I was tempted to take a hip flask.

I have a sort of pedometer app on my 'phone (that ds2 put there). I walked over 20,000 steps yesterday Shock Disclaimer - is that a lot?

A hip flask would have been good - next time!

Rose, I see on FB that one of my friends is there - will ask her what she's wearing!

QQ 20,000 is double the daily recommended so well done! What is the app called?

Got drenched in the sudden downpour as we left the café at exactly the wrong moment! Luckily DS managed to get the washing in and has now gone out for "some girl's birthday" Not sure where!

I think you can use Endomondo to count steps - I'm pretty sure one of my Endomondo friends uses it thusly. (I use it too but for running/walking and logging workouts - never actually tried using it to count steps.)

20,000 steps in a day sounds like A LOT!

Yes, baby girl has arrived safely, thank goodness, 7lbs 8oz, after a looong night, day and night's labour. No name yet, but that can wait. Spoke to my friend who was weeping happily and exhaustedly down the phone. I cried too. Am now walking round like this Grin and adding little dresses with matching knickers and baby dungarees to my John Lewis basket Grin Grin.

It's in the hospitality suite. In the stands just normal gear. Just have to have the obligatory tantrum directed against DH for... I dunno, just having it easy sartorially speaking. The meal was lovely though. Now waiting for the second semi. Hope the rain keeps off.

Baby dungarees

Well done to DF on safe arrival of her baby girl, Wilbur. I think we were all getting twitchy and I don't even know your friend. Reasonable weight, too, but a l o n g labour.

Spent the morning food shopping (boring), and have just made a walnut cake and a Charlotte Malakoff, both to go in the freezer ready for visitor. I work on the principle that I like to over-cater but I don't actually have to get things out of the freezer and use them. DH is now mowing (have I said my friend is a fantastic gardener and I like the garden to at least look as if we care?).

Have a nice evening, everyone; I am pleased to hear that DHs are getting home.

Yes, congrats to your friend, Wilbur! Like mi I am swooning at the thought of baby dungarees Blush

Great news WilburSmile I LOVE new babies!

Haven't packed any kitchen stuff up, or collected a parcel, or wrapped the prezzie for my Goddaughter (First Holy Communion tomorrow)

I'm recovering from a day of football (the last of the season), with DS playing in a big local tournament. The weather was absolutely pants - bloody typical, sunny all week when I'm stuck in the office, then cloud and rain when I have to spend the day standing in a big field. They played quite well, and got through to the semis, but no further. DD2 was as good as gold, and spent two hours in the Tuck Tent, flogging crisps and chocolate and practising her mental maths. DD1 woke up still tired and moody, so we left her at home in bed; luckily she rallied this evening in time for a quick trip to Asda to stock up for tomorrow's Chocolate Party. Wish me luck...

Congratulations to your friend, Wilbur!

I went to the restaurant tonight, and they do indeed do cocktails (including Woo Woo Grin). So do I book a table there, or do you want to go to the relatively nice pub across the road first on the 27th?

Morning crepeys . Day 2 in the Big GOT house. Yawn.

Wilbur many congratulations to DF on new little girl. I lovebabies. Hope they are both doing well. Smile

Rose I hope the tennis was good. Your outfit was beautiful silly. Stuff high heels , haven't worn them for donkeys.

QQ how did ds feel about Edinburgh?
Rather gorgeous uni IMHO .Grin
Should have mentioned the hilly walking. Confused There is rather a lot if it. We did a tour of Cambs and all the parents looked like they needed gin by the end if it?? yes yes to hip flask Grin

MrsS, yay! Maybe we could just go to the restaurant if they do cocktails there. Unless the pub does Cocktails Happy HourWink
I think this was the most recent list, but I hope I haven't left anyone out.

Lalsy (for at least a drink. No excuses - leave them to it!!!)
QQ (if she can abandon any uni visits that day!)

I am feeling a bit zonked as the rest of the family were very noisy watching the footy and kept waking me upAngry but I'll have to get a move on to fit in the gym before leaving for the Holy Communion.... And I foresee a lot of moaning from the DC.

I know you're talking sense crem. We saw some good tennis. I think the anxiety about my clothes is all part of feeling uncomfortable surrounded by people who seems so self assured and successful. I lack confidence in those types of settings. I always feel like I get everything wrong. Particularly since I lost my career after DD was born. It's hard to find things to talk about, and not looking the part just compounded it.
I must get up and struggle in to something suitable for the race for life.
Glad to hear about the safe arrival of the baby wilbur
And that stranded husband made it back in time, rudy

Report
hattymattie · 15/06/2014 08:32

Good luck for the race Rose and whatever you do don't feel underconfident (I've been through that a lot for the same reason).

Grin at baby feet and baby dungarees. So pleased for Wilbur's friend - we set up a second hand clothes store for the church fete recently and progress was very slow because of D.friend drooling over tiny booties and other baby items.

DD is screaming that she doesn't want to get up/go....
