Rudy hope your day went okay yesterday? You implied at the very end of the last thread that things were 'difficult'

Rudy, I can remember friends and acquaintances saying DH must have an interesting job with all the international travel, his response was that he knew a lot of airport lounges very well. Commiserations to you and him. I hope this means that he will be home later today or early tomorrow.

Grey and miserable here which just about sums up my mood, as I have toothache. Sad

Rudy, glad you stood your ground, sorry your DH is stuck in transit.

Just woken DD up for coaching - all up in the loft with DS and DD's 2 friends in the big bed, DD and DS's friend on the floor! I am off to the gym asap to leave DH to fend for themWink

Cross fingers Rudy - and glad it went your way yesterday!
Dp should be at the airport/on a flight right now.... So home soon.

Glad to hear he's on his way, Rudy....try and have a nap before he gets home, looks like you had a very short night. Massive thunderstorms here last night, which were exciting. Hope the camping dads survived Grin

I have a day of 'just getting sorted' today! Boring but necessary.

Rudy - I remember a friend of mine once commenting that the sole trace she had of her DH one week was his dirty clothes deposited at home (in France) en route between the US and Brussels. She did comment that she got so used to him being away that it disrupted the routine with the children when he came back.

Crem your job sounds really interesting - are you up with the Night Watch boys?Wink

Here, last weekend of revision before the biggies next week. Many hours were spent on a maths problem yesterday - it turns out there was a misprint in the question!

Wilbur - hope things are OK with friend's baby.

Hello…checking in. Do hope the baby has arrived safely and joyously Wilbur
and that DDad weathers his medical and surgical challenges ok Crem
Rudy that's a total bummer. My DH had many many years of international travel, usually across the Atlantic. He did get stranded from time to time..I remember it well.
Tilly hope the sleepover went well…great idea to go off to the gym and leave her and friends to deal with all the detritus….

All this talk of running and exercise is making me feel very guilty Blush for doing very little…and I'm doing the Race For Life Tomorrow…well, I'm walking it with my theatre buddies, in memory of a dear friend. There's only a few of us and we seem to have raised 1.3K so far, so well pleased.

Ok I'm off to Queens club today Smile in my Mango dress and white chinos which I do quite like, if I say so myself. Glad it's a bit cooler.

After 3 hours solid work…me and co writer submitted our play synopsis to the Artistic Management Board yesterday and wrote another scene…a somewhat emotional one and both of us ended up weeping! Then I wrote a poem about it that I want co writer to set to music for the beginning of the play (He's a musician)….well, ended up weeping again! How soppy is that? Wish me luck...

Rosebag - play sounds fab - with I could do stuff like that - you'll have to tell us when you hit the big time.

I must say - your weekend sounds really exciting - Queens tennis then marathon. We're just chilling and drinking and have even been banned from inviting the neighbours for an apero because the house must stay quiet for revision! I think I shall take myself off shopping with DD2 this afternoon, although it's two weeks from the sales so don't want to buy much.

On a majorly exciting note - I decided to embark on duvet washing as it was so hot yesterday. I have bunged DS's duvet into the machine and there are now dark clouds gathering on the horizon.

hattie thanks. Unlikely to hit the big time...working with local theatre but with any luck a professional cast...if we get that far...It's my first attempt but I had a story to tell, so...
I'm running away to Queens to escape the endless, endless revision and exam ridden teens. Good luck with the duvets. If you've got some tennis balls you can put them in the dryer if the rain comes. Not Eco friendly, but hey...

Yes Rose, your weekend does sound good!

Gym ticked. House emptied of teens by my return - all gone off to do their sports, etc. I am off to meet a friend later and then a quiet afternoon packing up some of the kitchen stuff...

Dp home yay!

Here I have tea, ds has a party and then I think we may slump with a bottle and a takeaway....

Rosebag sounds like a fab weekend - and yes you need to tell us more about the play!

motherinferior · 14/06/2014 10:33

I appear to have to do nothing much bar some quite local stuff, and making a choc raspberry cake for a party later. Grin

Hey Crepey ones, I take my eye off the ball for a day or so and here you all are stuck into a nice shiny new thread!

Spent yesterday in Edinburgh with ds1 at Uni Open Day, after catching overnight sleeper train on Thursday, which was brilliant. Edinburgh was great - but soooo far away. And whole thing was exhausting and involved a LOT of walking. Only another 5 Open Days to go... Hmm.

Have a nice weekendplanned - loafing about today, lunch out en famille, sorting house out a bit. Father's Day presents bought already for tomorrow and work colleagues all descending tomorrow afternoon for Summer Party. Fingers crossed it doesn't rain!

More fool them Rose... you will look cooler, more comfortable and a bit different.

Glad to hear Rudy and BD have their husbands back / will have them back. This travelling lark is seriously overrated!

Rose - I was walking round Paris in extreme heat the other day wondering how everybody else could manage heels - including on the Metro. I was in converse.
