Santa I love the dress! But I ended up putting all the other things on my wishlist Grin just in case.

Shop yes! of course go for it But the only thing is I have a morning meeting and missed the outnet today. So need to be back soonish after meeting. I might not get time if the meeting goes on longer, not sure when it will finish. I go to meetings and I shop these days Hmm actually it's quite fun.

cartoontrickster · 17/06/2014 18:52
Hmm
OneLittleLady · 17/06/2014 18:55

cartoon my budget is primark too, you aren't alone! everyone's welcome here, no matter what their taste or budget Smile

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2014 18:59

shopafrolic · 17/06/2014 19:08

I now am eager to know what it is Grin

cartoontrickster · 17/06/2014 19:13

oh good! I've never had a huge clothing budget but its even less now I've got ds.
finally tried on a dress I had been admiring in h&m for weeks but it was totally wrong on me. I just don't know what suits me anymore so I was hoping to find some inspiration here.

OneLittleLady · 17/06/2014 19:37

What kind of shape are you Cartoon what are your best bits and what bits do you want to hide? I'm a very short (4' 11'') hourglass and it can be tricky to get things to fit because of the huge difference between my hips and waist. I like to hide my arms but show off my (as told by other people) decollete (i have no idea how to spell that but i hope you know what I mean!) My legs are also no brilliant but my waist is very shapely so I dress for the bits I like and disguise what I don't.

cartoontrickster · 17/06/2014 19:55

one not sure I know any more! I'm currently a small 12/big 10, fairly small boobs, mum tum and I've never had much in the way of hips or bum. I tend to hide my legs as much as poss apparently I have horrible knees!

cartoontrickster · 17/06/2014 20:56

just put my measurements in an online calculator, it says pear shape. But I wouldn't say I match the description of a pear.. even more confused now.

bettykt · 17/06/2014 21:12

Hi ladies, haven't had a chance to read back, hope all is well with everyone. The Chinti and Parker top I wanted to order from NAP sale was sold out in a nano second so bought this top instead, thought it would look nice with white shorts/jeans. Will read back and say hello properly.

QueenCadbury · 17/06/2014 21:13

Evening all. Welcome cartoon. Lots of inspiration here. I'm a high st girl too. I want to nip into primark as I saw a kimono on some blog from there and I really want a kimono!

Am I the only one who doesn't like sales Confused. I'm stalking something in banana republic but apart from that am saving the cash for AW!

Absolutely no style news here. I'm a big snotty mess Grin. Didn't even bother with make up today as I don't think I can disguise my red eyes or nose!

LinusDKD · 17/06/2014 21:27

Evening!

Back home after a lovely anniversary dinner with DH. I wore one of the Chinti&Parker cotton dresses I bought on The Outnet earlier this year and some high heeled wedge sandals (bought in Spain many years ago and dusted off for the occasion). It's nice to dress up sometimes. Grin

I have been feeling very unimpressed by the sales as well queenc. I haven't bought anything yet.

Welcome cartoon!

Stokey · 17/06/2014 21:46

There's not that much in J- Crew sale yet ladies, no shorts I don't think Santa, I think work wear is right Marsha. There were a few tees and some linen trousers from the summer range but most of the rest is spring. For those of you that know the shop, it's just in the upstairs bit by the dressing room.

QueenC I like the idea of sales more than the reality. The mess of sales racks makes me shudder!

bettykt · 17/06/2014 21:47

Hello Cartoon I have a high street budget too

Linus glad you had a lovely evening

Queenc glad you're feeling better Thanks

Marsha love the colour of your shoes

Shop great dress

Turq hope you're having a great holiday

Dry glad you had a great night out

Santa good NAP shop

My memory is starting to go now, old age, Fedup I love a Pliage and am condiering buying another, Stokey lovely skirt, can't believe the price difference, that would make me reluctant to order online, okay brain has gone, big hello to anyone I've missed Blush

Fedupnagging · 17/06/2014 21:50

Have spent the last couple of hours looking at style blogs linked from the fashionable over 40 thread. Some great looks. Was a little disconcerted at a couple of why bother comments as no one looks at the over 40's...Sad

Anyway, these shoes are rather stylish. I can't link more than one item tonight otherwise there is more.

Great links Dry.

Hi to Cartoon. I'm more of a high street girl too.

Glad you have a lovely evening Linus. I love a pair of wedge heels.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/06/2014 21:55

Welcome cartoon! stick around, you'll get lots of ideas :)

Agree QueenC the sales make me feel stressed and then they're not even that good! The best stuff isn't reduced, and what's up with 30% off? And the rest, please!
give me a good discount code any day.

Happy anniversary Linus!

I was really happy with my outfit today (quite fashion-y for me, basically this with navy culottes, mid blue cropped turtleneck, and tan see by chloe boots). Now feeling all crappy and weepy though Sad Angry Had PMT for about a week, and now I've basically got a boil on my chin after no spots for a month. Joy.

Drywhiteplease · 17/06/2014 22:00

"No one looks at the over 40s"?!!!!!!Shock Fedup.....ahem, do I dare go and have a read.
blair fab outfit. Culottes would be perfect for my job but I just can't quite do them, yet, will probably get some as the trend dies as usual Grin

maradesbois · 17/06/2014 22:03

Evening,

cartoon welcome! Budget is no issue here but help with colours, shapes and styling is fab.

santa good shopping. Enjoy Harrods!

marsha fab shoes, agree with blair good colour clashing against orange.

Well I think I agree with the majority opinion that nap sale wasn't great however did pick up a t by AW chambray sleeveless shirt dress that have been after for ages and this chan luu scarf that have been lusting after for ages but just needed that little price incentive. So overall pretty successful.

Would also have gone for some pale pink jimmy choo pumps but they were gone in the blink of an eye.

My asos order arrived today. Doesn't warrant a glamorous unwrapping pic Grin but the black one shoulder dress is fab. Green bandeau one going back. Sizing is large and not confident it will stay up.

shopafrolic · 17/06/2014 22:04

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Linus

Fedupnagging · 17/06/2014 22:07

For Amber saw it on a blog whose name escapes me.

Blair pmt for a week sounds a bit rough. I bet your spot/boil isn't nearly as noticeable as you think. Have you some concealer if it's still there tomorrow? Still, on a positive note, I like the sound of your outfit today.

libertychick · 17/06/2014 22:24

Welcome cartoon. It takes a while to find your style, I am still finding mine! Are you on pin?

Happy anniversary Linus.
QueenC sorry to hear you still have a cold. That seems to be dragging on a bit. And Blair I hope you feel better soon too.

Great fantasy outnet shopping Dry.

Bought the Caitlyn Broderie Cami in white today from Fat Face - stupid site doesn't let me link or pin it properly or maybe I am the stupid one. I like it but need to have a proper try on session to decide if it's a keeper or not.

Going shopping tomorrow - have a decent gap between meetings so planning to check out Cos, Banana Republic and J Crew on Regent St. Nothing will be purchased at full price Grin. Thanks Stokey for the tips on where the sales section is in J Crew - that will save me precious minutes!!!

And I tried on a playsuit in Next today - surprisingly flattering providing I ignore my legs but I am very good at that the one I tried was poly so that's a no no for a hot weather item but I plan to investigate further.

libertychick · 17/06/2014 22:29

And worst CS ever to H&M I know everyone knows this but I ordered this skirt on 17th May and the current expected delivery date is between 30th June and 4th July Confused - it's like they only go buy the fabric when they have enough orders!

justasecond · 17/06/2014 22:32

Hi everyone!
A quick one from me, need to catch up again properly.
Glad the GR shoes worked out Marsha they are beautiful. Love the pink flats too.
Dry hope you have a great time at Ascot, I am sure you will look fab. Love the scarf too.
Cartoon hello! stick around I am a high st girl too!
Blair I have had PMT for a week now too, craving all the bad stuff. The dc bought dh some Krispy Kreme for fathers day and I have eaten most of them Blush. Luckily I have been spared the usual crop of boils on my chin this month though. I love the culottes look.
Stokey great skirt and what a bargain. I had my eye on the trousers in the same print.
Linus happy anniversary!
sorry to everyone I have missed.
I have not bought much recently other than this
cos dress which I love but have discovered is faulty because the front hem is longer than the back and its not supposed to be so I will have to take it back to exchange. A bit of a pita as I wanted to wear it.

libertychick · 17/06/2014 22:33

Well done to Mara and Santa on NaP success. Santa that VDM dress is fantastic!
