I've just dismantled a wardrobe, with a hammer and screw driver and everything....whilst wearing flat, pointy silver sling backs, jeans and a wool and cashmere sweater bit hot.......ALWAYS look chic ladies, whilst doing DIY Grin

bettykt · 03/06/2014 17:39

SATC takes me back to my single days, used to watch it with my friends. Fast forward 10 years and we're all mums now, how life changes, I often chuckle at how my life has panned out. Can't really say on here for fear of outing myself, I'm not famous btw Grin I liked Carrie but without giving the game away she made a bad decision about men.

Blair thanks for the suggestion about the skirt, unfortunately my middle area isn't what it used to be Sad but was reading about Shop's bikini dilemma and am wondering whether I should brave a bikini this summer.

Drywhiteplease · 03/06/2014 17:47

Betty I've just watched the baby shower episode.....kind of rang very true, slightly bitter sweet....feeling apprehensive that DH is bringing sexy single Porche driving friend home in 10mins thank god I have my silver sling backs on ehGrin

shopafrolic · 03/06/2014 17:54

No such thing as a sexy male Porsche driver - we've discussed this before Dry - I need photographic evidence.
I cleaned the wheelie bins this morning wearing J Crew linen tee and Paige jeans. Exchanged my Madewell flats for wellies tho.

Well done Shop always stylish Grin.....yes I remember that about Porsche drivers!

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 18:51

Wearing fab clothes for the mundane stuff is great.

Phew nearly done on the work for this project, client pres tomorrow then only a big meeting in a couple of weeks.

Now I have an urge to shop. Where's the Liberty pre-sale, come on!

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 18:52

but will pause for breath in the meantime.

I'd love a pencil skirt.
Some new ts.
And some flats.

Have been saying that for ages now!

Fedupnagging · 03/06/2014 19:08

When SATC first aired I had 2 young ds's and pg with ds3 so it all passed me by - was on far too late. I caught up a few years ago and loved it. Also loved the 1st film, the 2nd not so much. I think I wanted to be Carrie but in reality was probably Miranda without the career!

Grin at jobs in glamorous clothes.

Secretsquirrel13 · 03/06/2014 19:11

I have started shopping again in the last week, been v stressed and noticed am doing a lot of ordering. Not good. But have tracked down a pair of the Leigh jeans in my size, have high hopes for them. Need dh to do the speech so that I go back to frugality again.

QueenCadbury · 03/06/2014 19:33

In my younger days I probrably would have been Samantha Wink. Now I'd say I'm more Miranda. Carrie pisses me off. She's so self absorbed. Still loved it though and all the clothes.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 19:37

Carrie did drive me nuts. I didn't think there could be someone even more annoying than Ally McBeal in self absorption stakes.

And Miranda got such a hard time, lots of eye rolling from others.

But I can't be the other three.

Drywhiteplease · 03/06/2014 19:39

Oh Secret sorry to hear you're stressed. Chocolate or wine are cheaper but shopping isn't as bad for you Hmm

I'm wobbling about my Ascot outfit after reading an article in this month's InStyle about wedding outfits and how we all go a bit wrong for occasion wear. A list of dos and donts; apart from a pashmina I do have standards I'm doing all of them Hmm Sad. I'm going for classy/elegant rather than edgy/bang on trend. I'm wearing all of my real bling this is the one occasion you can wear diamonds and pearls and an outfit I had made for me and a hat that made me feel amazing. But..............

Drywhiteplease · 03/06/2014 19:40

Oh and I'm developing a big crush on Big. He's so lovely ....so far at least.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 19:40

Just on clothes alone, I definitely think I can't be the other three.

So when you say who you are think of the clothes!

Dry - Charlotte
Shop - Samantha? Clothes only
Novice - Miranda clothes only

What ya reckon? Quite tricky

LinusDKD · 03/06/2014 19:41

Samantha queenc!?

I didn't see all of SATC but Carrie did annoy me with her Mr. Big obsession. 'He's just not that into you' springs to mind. Didn't see any of the films, did she marry him in the end?

Maybe I should get the box set?

LinusDKD · 03/06/2014 19:42

X-post dry. I never liked Big, sorry.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/06/2014 19:42

I always notice when I'm doing chores wearing nice clothes too... then I panic! But it does feel good in a way.

Marsha you always manage to make simple things sound so chic somehow (pencil skirt, tees, flats). At least that's how I imagine you!

I never watched much SATC because it was mostly on before I had my own TV :(

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 19:43

She really could lightly skip in impossible heels. I was impressed by that. I remember one episode where she wore shorts and heels. She looked pretty good most of the time.

LinusDKD · 03/06/2014 19:43

Mmm clothes wise Charlotte is a bit too prim and proper for me. I like classical but with a twist.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 19:45

Blair I've been saying the same thing for nearly half a year, I've had good practise Grin

Blair you're from Gossip Girl anyway Wink

QueenCadbury · 03/06/2014 20:13

blairhow young are you?

amber have you see this weeks grazia? A whole spread on pineapple stuff. Thought of you straight away.

dry what are you worrying about? If you feel great then who cares what a magazine article says. You will look stunning.

I'm one of those people who panics at the thougt of ruining clothes so will always put on crappy clothes to do heavy duty housework. Think I inherited that from my dad as I seem to remember he was like that but has grown out of it so maybe I will too.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 20:22

oh Dry no way, you will look uber chic, definitely! Don't worry about the article for sure.

My clothing bottoms out into you can do anything in this (but not wear it outside) just before it wheezes its last legs into the bin. Or if not so bad charity.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/06/2014 20:22

Lol true Marsha (on both!)

QueenC I'm nearly 28, got asked for ID a few times in the casinos though yesss!

dry you shouldn't worry, as long as you are happy and comfortable in your outfit you'll have a ball. Rules (and magazines) are silly! :)

LinusDKD · 03/06/2014 20:24

dry I am sure you will look gorgeous!

Drywhiteplease · 03/06/2014 20:26

Thanks all...not like me to wobble Smile

Bleach is a problem though, have ruined a few items with my manic bleaching obsession.
