Blair somehow your age passed me by, you are young! lucky Grin

So those who wear shirts often, what do you do. Do you iron the night before, all in one hit or the morning you wear it?

I want to do nothing tonight so might go for morning.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 20:58

Oh and dh has as bleach cleaning obsession too Dry, always asking for new bleach.

Secretsquirrel13 · 03/06/2014 21:04

Night before Marsha, then put school uniforms out and arrange shoes and school bags. Am not a morning person.

shopafrolic · 03/06/2014 21:06

Bleach is not my friend. I'm always wearing designer jeans when bleaching for some reason.
Samantha dressed like a hooker Marsha? Shock Hmm

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 03/06/2014 21:07

All in one hit...I'd rather get it done and not iron again for a few days

shopafrolic · 03/06/2014 21:07

So DH has won an incentive and we might be heading to New York on a 4 day break with DS in tow! So I'm going to need recommendations as to how the hell you NYC with a 3yo?!

OP posts:
BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/06/2014 21:08

I don't wear shirts often, find them too uncomfortable, but I iron at the last minute (the luxury of being childless I guess!)

Drywhiteplease · 03/06/2014 21:10

shop I think Samantha dresses more minimally, perhaps that's what Marsha meant; not as froufrou as Carrie or matchy as Charlotte. I think Miranda 's clothes are more masculine that novice's though

Secretsquirrel13 · 03/06/2014 21:12

Any chance you could leave him behind Shop? Aware I sound like a dreadful parent but faced with New York with my dc in tow or staying at home I may opt for home.

Secretsquirrel13 · 03/06/2014 21:13

Sorry should add leave him behind with any grandparents/aunts/uncles. Am not advocating a home alone scenario. Oh and v envious I would love a few days thereEnvy

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 21:14

Shit soz Shop no I just meant the body con stuff, without the ott stuff. Tall and good figure. SATC is quite hard as each character has a side. Carrie absorbed, Samantha ott etc

I very rarely wear shirts, only for meetings. And I enjoy ironing them even less.

We took ds1 to NYC when he was about three, made a big mistake of not taking a buggy and poor dh had to do shoulders around the frozen streets of NYC but the yellow cabs were good. We stayed at the Hudson Hotel it was fab.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 21:16

True re Miranda and Novice Dry. Quite tricky!

shopafrolic · 03/06/2014 21:18

Only joking. I think most people are a cross between two characters anyway. I reckon I'm a bit Samantha and a bit the workaholic one.....
Leaving DS isn't an option. I've asked DH to see if we can move the trip from NYC to Europe somewhere but it might be unlikely........ Never look a gift horse in the mouth and all that. Gutted as NYC to me is all cocktails, shows and shopping (none of which works to well with a toddler) but there must be another side to it?

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 03/06/2014 21:20

Shop that's so exciting! Can't help at all as I've never been, but that's fab.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 21:26

this was the look in my mind, minimal etc but yep I think it's likely some are a mix of two.

NYC would you do a babysitter? Maybe book a fantastic hotel with bar there so you are close (babysitter in room of course) whilst he's asleep?

shopafrolic · 03/06/2014 21:31

I'll take that look Marsha Thanks
I think babysitter will be the only way. DH is insists that DS has to come. And to be fair, we have no one who could take him for 4 days. We might be able to delay till Autumn, Christmas lights and stuff. We'll see. Still waiting to get the prize details.

Ok trying to redeem myself now Shop this is for you, lots of similar sites too.

BrandyAlexander · 03/06/2014 21:36

Thanks for letting me have my self indulgent moment. you're all v kind.Smile
so SATC. ... clothes wise I would say I am more Charlotte. character wise, more SamanthaWink Grin

shop how exciting!!! The planetarium is fab. I used to love going there. Also there is a lot going on in Central Park.
Also the zoo in Queens is great. I should caveat by saying that I lived there pre dcs but these are the places that immediately came to mind.

shopafrolic · 03/06/2014 21:37

Secret no need to redeem yourself - Thanks will take a look. My first thought was "can we go without him?" So I'm obvs a bad mummy! Grin

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2014 21:40

Novice Blush yes that's a better combo for you. I shouldn't guess, too rubbish Grin

There are amazing places to go in the day stil with a dc but you will want that night time NYC hit as a couple, so exciting.

Sleepwhenidie · 03/06/2014 21:52

Hello, you'll be pleased to know I put in an appearance on the thread in chat. I messed up not nc'ing with that offer...forgot it wasn't one of you lot where it's kind of a normal thing to do maybe Smile. Thank you for the set comments though Blush Smile

On a completely different note, I walked past the divine Jamie Dornan earlier this evening - think I scared him a bit as I probably did a fairly obvious swoon and was stumbling, red faced and incredibly sweaty, out of a hot yoga class Hmm. Perfect timing! For any of you unaware of him...[jamie dornan images take a look]] . Added to which he is Irish and funny, what more could you ask? I don't get like his about many celebs, but...

Anyhow, re bikinis, funnily enough the subject of my last blog post before my holiday in Italy.

Novice well done on your charity! you must be so proud and pleased Flowers.

So go on then, which SATC character am I?!

Sleepwhenidie · 03/06/2014 21:52

Sweet comments!

BrandyAlexander · 03/06/2014 21:52

shop that would have been my first thought too so budge up on that bad mummy bench! Smile

just remembered there is a zoo in central park too. Also I used to love the museums and I think there are at least 3 children's museums which are specifically for children. I think one of them is on staten island so the ferry would be good fun.

The other main park is prospect Park in Brooklyn. its gorgeous. because it's a neighbourhood park there are plenty of children's activities.

If you're going to risk FAO Schwarz that could be a lot of fun (that's where the scene in Big was filmed).

you can also go on the dodgems if you get train to Coney island.

Sleepwhenidie · 03/06/2014 21:53

And I've lost the ability to link properly dornan images Jamie D

Sleepwhenidie · 03/06/2014 21:54

Pah! - just Google!!!
