HoF sale is now on.

LinusDKD · 11/06/2014 19:39

Great top shop! The Stylist had a whole feature about orange being the new black, did you see it?

Hope my JP dress arrives tomorrow.

marsha great news about the C&P skirt but tricky about the Marant jumper.

Welcome capet! Stick around.

Great skirt blair I had quite a few leather pencil skirts on my A/W 13 wishlist but decided to wait a bit longer for the DC to be a bit less messy might be a long wait

dry I love that style of necklace, very chic.

mara I don't like mmf either but viscose can be nice. Fingers crossed this is!

QueenCadbury · 11/06/2014 20:09

marsha glad the skirt is good but I'd be tempted to send the jumper back. But that's because I'd be so scared of damaging it that it would sit unworn in the wardrobe.
dry lovely diamonds. Everyone has said everything already about your dd. all you can do is be there for her and let her know that you will try to help. Don't know if you remember but I went through a similar thing thing with dd last year and it's heartbreaking so I sympathise.
turq I tend to just wear shorts/vests on holiday too. Sometimes getting dressed up in the heat is too much faff. Either that or I'm somewhere wet and spend the week in wellies and waterproof Grin
blair great skirt. I really like the navy colour.

Have I missed purchases?

Quick question to those that 5:2. Do you do it if you're bleeding heavily?

capet · 11/06/2014 20:32

Thank you for the warm welcome!
Thought you might not have been too impressed with me hanging out in the shadows!
I tend to just dip in and out with my lurking though.
Will post occasionally perhaps from now on, although this thread tends to move at break neck speed.

I'm on mat leave at the minute, but heading back to work in a month so now I'm trying to update my work wardrobe, well that's my excuse anyway.

Bought that skirt as figured can always drop it back to the store if it's not right/I won't realistically wear it. And I'm a sucker for anything that seems like a bargain.

LinusDKD · 11/06/2014 20:33

queenc even though my periods are heavier than before I had DC they aren't very very heavy. I do do my two fast days during my periods and I don't find it too bad but sometimes I do eat a bit more crap on non fast days.

Maybe eat extra iron rich food on fast days during your period?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/06/2014 20:36

Thanks for all the skirt comments! capet I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier, was skimming. Welcome! :) I do think the skirt is good quality and excellent value, as I said upthread it's fully lined and has pockets. It smells a bit processed but is lovely and soft. It's actually a bit long on me but I have overlooked that for now, as it was bound to be.

Will probably wear it with a t-shirt and statement necklace or a silk shirt for work, hopefully it'll be quite versatile. Not until autumn/winter though. :) Hope Amber and capet like theirs.

Love the top Shop, great colour for you.

dry I suit gold jewellery too and I had a link to a guide on how to find good gold plated stuff. I will try to find it.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/06/2014 20:38

Aha I found the gold jewellery guide here, for those of us that can't just buy sterling silver and can't always stretch to the real deal Wink

LinusDKD · 11/06/2014 21:13

Inspired by dry some jewelry porn.

drool

Drywhiteplease · 11/06/2014 21:22

oops a yellow clutch seems such a good idea for this summer.

Re summer clothes. We have very informal, self catering holidays, normally in countries where boiling hot sunshine is not always guaranteed. Have never spent more than a weekend in a hotel as a family. As a result we just don't dress up on holiday sad so I don't spend on my holiday wardrobe. I pack really light sad and always wish I could glam up a bit.
HOWEVER this year we are going to Greece yippee where the sun will shine and I'm planning to do my best Joan Collins impersonation with my hat and shades combo. Still self catering but I'm taking a few beach dresses, beach cover ups, shorts and vests. Probably 2 pairs ogpf Gigis and a flip flop. No heels on a yacht, yippee

Drywhiteplease · 11/06/2014 21:24

Oh YES Linus I love sapphires. Is wear that baby. bet I can find one in NOvice's cupboard

QueenCadbury · 11/06/2014 21:34

Gorgeous linus.

My poor dd (8) has just been crying saying that her body is stupid and useless and she doesn't want to live anymore Sad. Bless her she is still wet at night and has urgency symptoms during the day. The paed we are under is pretty useless imo so I'm going to see if there's anyone else to see even if I have to pay.

I had been feeling upbeat before that conversation as I had ordered this dress inspired by another thread. No idea whether it'll work on me or not but dh is a sucker for dresses he'd love me in a zip up like novice so he's more than happy to buy it!

shopafrolic · 11/06/2014 21:39

Evening. Just back from Pilates - LOVE my class! I'm buzzing
I just read Stylist on the iPad Linus I didn't think a lot of the items were actually orange?! But I loved the HoF dress...... I am a bit of an addict at the moment - looks at orange finger nails, toe nails, AH bag etc etc

shopafrolic · 11/06/2014 21:50

Drywhiteplease · 11/06/2014 22:06

Queenc PM!

OneLittleLady · 11/06/2014 22:10

oh QueenC how sad for your DD. I hope you manage to get her the right care soon and she starts to feel better about herself. It destroyed me when my DS said he wanted to die after his Grandma (my mum) died, he said it was because he was useless and awful. Hugs for you and your DD Thanks

libertychick · 11/06/2014 22:22

Your poor DD QueenC definitely get a second opinion.

Dry I love that necklace, really love it. Have bookmarked.

Welcome capet. I was a lurker for ages before getting stuck in here.

QueenCadbury · 11/06/2014 22:31

Thanks everyone Flowers. Been trawling the internet for paediatric urologists. Would much rather be on the john Lewis/NAP site Grin.

santamarianovella · 11/06/2014 22:58

queen (( hugs))

dry don't feel bad,and I hope it doesn't affect your dd,all girls go through this at some point, first part of my last year of high school was a living hell, but like hopefully it made me think out of the box and do other thing that was frown upon by the "cool" girls, It literally was the best thing to happen to me.
I love the gold top,

blair love the skirt,

NAP has a new designer atlantique ascoli love the dress, I've never heard of her before, but oh I want one of her desgins ,

justasecond · 11/06/2014 23:14

Dry sad to hear about your dd's troubles at school. I know how heartbreaking it is. Poor dd1 has been having friendship issues on and off since y3. It has honestly surprised me how mean children of her age can be. I am sure your dd will get through it with your support.
Queen hugs from me too. I hope you can get her seen soon, what an awful thing for such a young one to go through.

Hopefully · 12/06/2014 00:25

Oh QueenC that's heartbreaking, poor DD. Definitely seek a second opinion.

Fedupnagging · 12/06/2014 06:50

Morning all,
Woke up for the loo (yes, I know, tmi) at 5am and noticed a massive fake tan fail on my feet. Spent ages scrubbing but dont think I'll be wearing sandals for a couple of days! Don't know why I bother really as it never, ever is a success.

Queen, sorry for what your dd is going through. I hope you manage to locate a specialist that can help.

AR has a 25% discount on their holiday shop today.

Drywhiteplease · 12/06/2014 07:51

Fedup I have one on my inner forearm, planning to totally ignore it and continue wearing s sleeves.....no one will look at your feet. As with my many flaws I keep quiet about them and hope no one will notice talk them into submission so the can't check them out Grin

Wearing new necklace.
Wondering why I bought a yellow clutch Hmm
Wishing it were the weekend.
Have a good sunny day all.x

libertychick · 12/06/2014 07:52

Feet, ankles and knees are really tricky Fedup. I have pretty much given up on fake tan, just can't do it.

What a lovely day today! Am working but meeting a friend for lunch at the Tate Modern so will wear AV dress and silver slingbacks (this is a potential MU outfit too).

I have just posted a query in parenting if any of you can help - I have a very curious DD ATM Smile
