My turn......

OP posts:
originalpiratematerial · 24/05/2014 17:45

QueenQueenie - I live on the "right" side of the Thames too, although am more an East than a Norf Lunnoner.

cremolafoam · 24/05/2014 17:47

Dh bringing me to A&E now.
I will have a look at that thread QQ , while I'm waiting. Dr has said its sciatica , but I know not the cause. He dispatched me rather wearily with pills. I should have asked more questions but I was sick with pain that day.

QueenQueenie · 24/05/2014 17:50

Good luck Crem.
I am no expert but sciatica I think just describes the type of pain rather than saying anything about it's cause...
Hope you don't have to wait too long to be seen and that they can do something to help, with the pain at least. X

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 24/05/2014 18:35

Good luck Crem. Fingers crossed that they can sort you out.

herbaceous · 24/05/2014 19:08

OPM - I wonder if we're near each other? I too am north east London. In a place with a band named after it.

bigTillyMint · 24/05/2014 19:13

Well done your DH, Cremo. Fingers crossed they can give you sonething.

Right side of the river, OPM??? I think you are mistaken. The 185ers are the right side of the riverSmile

Rosebag · 24/05/2014 19:50

Thanks once again for all the kind messages. It was a happy and poignant afternoon. Dad couldn't really eat but he did manage an entire glass of Prosecco and made a spontaneous little speech, after we'd toasted him. My scones and cake got scoffed, by everyone else though. Got some lovely photos which I put on FB so lots of notifications coming in. Felt a bit teary on and off, but there you go.Crem oh lord…I do hope they sort you out. No one should have to suffer like that. Queen do you know me? LOL, I suppose I'll get outed eventually. YOu can PM me if you like and I'll reveal all. I guess it's only a matter of tie before I end up messaging my next door neighbour or something. (Hope not…she's a nut job). OK one down , 2 to go. Loads of birthdays this week…DD tomorrow, and DH on Tuesday.

motherinferior · 24/05/2014 19:53

Right, I'm off. Just the one, you understand.

We've filled up this thread in record time!

originalpiratematerial · 24/05/2014 20:02

I've travelled on the 185, you know.

Herbs can't think! I live in a place that shares its name with a naff old musician...

herbaceous · 24/05/2014 20:09

Rick Wakeman? Englebert Humperdink? Phil Collins?

My boy band was big about 20 years ago. One of its members ran over his own head.

NUFC69 · 24/05/2014 20:23

All quiet on the eastern front - DGS tearfully told me that he wanted to go home to his DM, but we've talked him round and there is no sound from upstairs. We've never had a problem before (not that this is a problem, it's just never arisen before).

Crem, that sounds horrendous; get thee to an A&E department soon. My sciatica never affected me like that, although it was extremely painful and I could hardly walk.

Glad to hear the party went well, Rose.

DNephew was at the playoffs this afternoon; he is going to be gutted about Derby losing. We have sort of half watched it, in between playing cars on the floor - Derby definitely seemed the better team.

MI, my DSiL looks very Middle Eastern, complete with beard, although he has a very English surname (think Smith), and I was convinced when he came with us to the States that we would have trouble with the authorities, but no. For several years it was always me that got picked upon. Oh, and blush sounds a lovely colour.

Glad you had a nice afternoon with dad Rosebag. Was sort of hoping there might be someone else in SW. But when I went back to reread your post I note it did say wrong side of the river. Grin

Windy I am most definitely in the unfashionable suburbs of North London. However, I do drive through parts of SW quite often on the way to the coast, where we spend a lot of our weekends and hols. Any good? Grin

herbaceous · 24/05/2014 21:18

I would take it as the greatest compliment rudy!

NearTheWindymill · 24/05/2014 21:18

I could send you Kendall Mint Cake for long journeys Smile.

bigTillyMint · 24/05/2014 21:27

Rudy, I was actually thinking of asking Herbs the exact same questionGrin, except it would be for my 50th and every birthday after

originalpiratematerial · 24/05/2014 21:31

Ah Herbs, I am with you now! I'm also very close. If I run across the Marshes (which I do quite often) I'm running to your gaff from mine, basically.

The old git who shares his name with my neck of the woods was in Cream, and Blind Faith.

originalpiratematerial · 24/05/2014 21:33

Rosebag I'm glad it went well.

Talking of Aged Parents - my turn to visit mine next. They live in East Yorks and I'm going there with DS3 on Wednesday (DS1 and DS2 are going on Monday). Dad is fine, very well and hale and hearty and loves a drink and a barbecue. Mum is fading away Sad.

bigTillyMint · 24/05/2014 21:35
