Shop I hope your house and garden are ok, that sounds horrible :( didn't mean to ignore your post!

AmberNectarine · 15/02/2014 10:35

Your neighbours have pampas grass Blair?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/02/2014 10:50

Amber she is a single old lady and it's not next door so I think we're safe Wink

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 15/02/2014 11:26

Welcome back QueenC! Fab links - love the silver top especially. If you felt the silver was too, um, silvery have you checked out the Napoli top from Baukjen? I bought this for my trip to Spain next month and it's lovely, although maybe not an 'evening' thing.

Hope everyone is keeping safe in this abysmal weather.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 15/02/2014 11:37

Ha! Found my jumpsuit online here

AmberNectarine · 15/02/2014 11:45

That article was actually a decent one. Nice to see some slightly under the radar british brands showcased there - Libby London do beautiful silk shirts.

QueenCadbury · 15/02/2014 12:14

Love that jumpsuit grumpy. I like the baukjen top but not quite what I'm looking for. I'm considering the Boden ravello top if I can get a decent discount between now and my trip. amber you're similar to me so what size would I need?
I'm finding sizing even more vanity than usual. Some shops are going to outsize themselves from normal and small sized people if they're not careful. Both tops I bought in next and the one in river island were size 6. I'm a 30f ffs so surely I shouldn't really fit in a size 6 Confused

shopafrolic · 15/02/2014 13:24

This weather is ridiculous. DH and neighbour battling with the fence panel. We have just got back from a shopping trip out. DH has ordered two tailored suits (I wept as I thought what I could buy with the ££).
In terms of books I have gone for:
Life after Life by Kate Atkinson
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer
Have bought lots of yummy Italian cheese from the market and olives too.

maradesbois · 15/02/2014 14:29

Hello all,

Have been away for a couple of days and sitting on train trying to catch up with this thread. After reading your Atterley Road sale posts I tried to buy the American vintage blue and white summer dress (think someone else posted link to it) but all gone boo hoo! Nonetheless love shop's bag, blair's pink jumpsuit and all your other recent finds (plus dry's fabulous earrings of course).

Am trying not to spend and focus on buying marni clutch but in a bid to distract from this dreary weather am thinking of inspiration for spring/summer french riviera wardrobe and how to do shorts well. Loving this and this so far.

Umlauf · 15/02/2014 14:40

Its mine marades sorry! If it doesn't work for me I could always send it on to you.

grumpy that jumpsuit is lovely and looks so comfy. I'm wearing the Hush harems atm that have the same leg, love them! Love your napoli top too, looks really relaxed. And Spain is lovely and warm at the moment.

Speaking of jumpsuits, I know we don't speak about Topshop on here but I think this is so beautiful and I want it desperately, perhaps to continue to channel Lily Pulitzer in! I have vouchers so will have to hunt for it in the London stores tomorrow! Shopping on a Sunday will be such a novelty after years in a catholic country Smile

Off for the airport now, I hope we can actually land in this weather...

maradesbois · 15/02/2014 14:46

umlauf aha! That teaches me to be too slow. Wasn't sure about it being viscose which is why I hesitated. Hope you're happy with it but in case not and you're a 12 I could be a taker...

Umlauf · 15/02/2014 14:48

Ooh, well I'm a 10 and ordered a 10 but liberty has it and found it really generous, so it may well work out like that! Sort of hoping not because I really like it too!!

maradesbois · 15/02/2014 15:00

I would normally fit a generous 10 especially for tops/dresses but lets see how you get on. Have a good trip!

Drywhiteplease · 15/02/2014 15:02

Shop which one will you read first? Let me know when you start K. Atkinson, I'll read at the same time. Will order the Stars one (weepy) that made Amber crack......we can weep together.
ILs .....day 2 bottles in fridge already
Unlauf since when has TS been a dirty word on here? Think the majority own a pair of Baxters.

Umlauf · 15/02/2014 15:12

Oh no maybe it wasn't on here, maybe it was a blog.. Sorry if I caused any offence, I personally love a lot of topshop, especially their boutique collection. I just find the main collection a bit too hit and miss to order online Sad

AmberNectarine · 15/02/2014 15:38

I really enjoyed the Husband's secret shop, and her other one, what Alice forgot.

QueenC I usually get a 10 in Boden tops as I find them quite neat over the old bosom. I ordered a 10 in the modern Breton yesterday.

shopafrolic · 15/02/2014 16:22

Am starting with the Husband's Secret Dry but YY will let you know when I start KA.
TopShop isn't a dirty word on here as far as I'm concerned....
ILs due here Friday Dry I sympathise
Safe flight Umlauf

Fedupnagging · 15/02/2014 16:37

Queen, I like that silver top too, and the navy.

Had a little look at Ted Baker today and I like this and this. I don't normally go for floral but like this. In fact, there are some nice pieces in TB atm.

I really enjoyed Life after Life. Kate Atkinson is back to her quirky storytelling that she does so well. Am reading A Brave New World atm. It's ok but not my usual cup of tea.

Fedupnagging · 15/02/2014 16:42

A bag with a Mohican

LinusDKD · 15/02/2014 19:04

Evening!

shop and everyone else affected by the weather, I hope you're ok!

dry extra Wine from me.

umlauf safe travels.

amber lovely shoes, well done DH!

Hi queenc welcome back!

mara I would love to wear shorts in summer but they just don't suit me. Maybe now I've lost weight I can try again but I just think I am too hip-ey for them to work. Sad

LinusDKD · 15/02/2014 19:17

I love this dress but maybe it's more for the MNVoguettes with a more athletic body.

sleep maybe? Wink

shopafrolic · 15/02/2014 19:19

Squee - I've just ordered an iPhone 5s - so fed up with my BlackBerry and it isn't syncing well with the MacBook so am now completely sucked into Apple's world......
Linus that dress looks like nightwear to me Blush

shopafrolic · 15/02/2014 19:19

Fence all fixed after the storm and the wind seems to have eased off so all good again here now Thanks
