Chanel Bags...

Hello....not a stealth boast, more of a quick, help me not look like a chav....

A friend of mine is in handbag shop right now. He's just text me saying would I prefer a "Chanel Quilted Caviar leather Flap bag" in black, red, white or gold.

What do I have? Discounted red as I have a red Lulu Guiness clutch. Is white chavtastic? Do I go classic black, or nudey gold? Both I have loads to match, outfit wise. Help quickly please!!!! What's best?

Googled them...I presume it's the small one. He doesn't know me that well to spend loads.

TIA!!! x x x

I like ostentatious. I don't judge people who show tier enjoyment of money. I don't understand this idea that you should hide your money and pretend not to care. I I had pots of it I'd throw it around. Not be all snooty at other rich people who didn't fit into my category of people who are allowed to be rich.

SugarHut posted in S and B, asking our opinion on bags. With some backstory about it - which I'm pretty sure is allowed as it makes it more interesting? I certainly enjoyed an insight into a life very different to mine.

There are wealthy posters on S and B but I think they are all, certainly the vast majority, well spoken and middle class types who buy as subtle stuff as they can - Celine bags and so on being the ideal. But why is wanting flashy and ostentatious such a flashpoint on here? I just genuinely don't understand. Mignonette calling me disingenuous earlier was wrong - I'm being very clear that it's the posters who have insulted her who have shown themselves to possess very little 'class' and not the OP, whether or not you agree with her, her life isn't what was put up for debate here an people have forgotten that. I disagree with MissBeehiving because OP didn't even ask for our opinions on the morality of her situation, she had already made the decision to say yes to the bags and I assume posted on here because she knows there are people who love bags on here and buy designer things - she assumed they would accept her. But I'm sure Mignonette and others would take pains to describe why someone like Sugar doesn't have anything at all in common with them...

I truly thought that life choices of all sorts were pretty irrelevant on S and B - this thread has taught me otherwise.

dexter73 · 10/01/2014 19:33

I wasn't sure whether to post this or not but I now think that the OP is, what is referred to on this site, as a goady poster. Yesterday she resurrected a zombie thread about her use of the word 'retard'. Why would she do that unless she was looking to start a bunfight. I am starting to think that she is just playing us.

Maybe the post was goady but people didn't have to respond with such nastiness. It really has been quite illuminating and some posts have been uncalled for (OP and responders).

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/01/2014 20:31

Did I miss the wornout comment - am sure Amber didn't mean that bagsnob is one of us?

Emo76 · 10/01/2014 20:34

Would it be OK if the OP was being gifted a bench? And then regifted it?

I thought OP's name was Tia. Must get with the TLA groove.

Passes property some prada sunglasses to shield her from the wreckage - actually is prada good or bad, god I don't know anymore

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 10/01/2014 20:43

Prada always helps in any given situation Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/01/2014 21:10

Golly, just read back - seriously Amber are you implying it was one of the worn out bloggers who is bagsnob?

mistermakersgloopyglue · 10/01/2014 21:10

shreddedhoops sorry but you are too late, the unwanted Chanel bag is going to another of sugarhut's acolytes.

What does DGAF mean? And yes helloboys spill about the models please?

I also had a good old chuckle at 'Karl says no'. Might get it made into a t-shirt!

NigellasGuest · 10/01/2014 21:23

Oh Mrs CB I love the reissue - it seems to have silver hardware which is my preference.... and minimal branding which again, I like, despite not being particularly wealthy.

I saw a very nice little Donna Karan number in a local boutique before Christmas. It was under £200 too... but I couldn't buy it as it had DK on it way too prominently. I don't know why they do that!

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/01/2014 21:26

I know its like Michael Kors - some of the bags are lovely but too obvious branding.

I saw a woman in morrisons recently [loses all fashion credibility] with a re-issue, I followed her round shamelessly Wink

I think we need a nice unifying s&b thread to bring us all back together don't we?

NigellasGuest · 10/01/2014 21:34

that would be lovely!
after all, this is s&b! Smile

DrNick · 10/01/2014 22:20

ooh someones sent me on here because oyu are all being UTTERLY BITCHY

tell me - who is and why? Grin

santamarianovella · 10/01/2014 22:34

It has gotten really bad, that a doctor was called to see to this thread Grin

mrsCB we should do that, we all some how know each other, and everyone on S&B is lovely, this has to be the worst thread I ever read on mumsnet, and wish it just dissapears.

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/01/2014 22:38

And now my cat has been sick all over a 'good' cushion.

That's a sign I tell you Wink

dexter73 · 10/01/2014 22:42

I was annoyed that the dog sneezed on my jeans earlier but cat sick on a 'good' cushion trumps that! My cat did once sick up a whole bird with feet and beak. That was not nice.

DrNick · 10/01/2014 22:43

MY CAT SHITTED IN THE SHOWER

i so win

DrNick · 10/01/2014 22:43

shat?

dexter73 · 10/01/2014 22:44

My cat wees down the plughole but I'm actually quite impressed with that!

Lighthousekeeping · 10/01/2014 22:49

That rinser is on big brothers bit on the side now.

bunnymother · 10/01/2014 22:51

Oh. I thought Amber's worn out comment was because she had absolutely exhausted her capacity to judge. I thought it might be a good idea to give it a rest, then.

And NewChoos and SugarHoops, I absolutely agree.

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/01/2014 22:52

Shitting in the shower not good - wee not so bad.

This was at least iams sick as opposed to dead mouse sick - tmi?

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 10/01/2014 22:53

Am pissing myself that a doctor is how in attendance. This thread is truly sick.
