Hello....not a stealth boast, more of a quick, help me not look like a chav....

A friend of mine is in handbag shop right now. He's just text me saying would I prefer a "Chanel Quilted Caviar leather Flap bag" in black, red, white or gold.

What do I have? Discounted red as I have a red Lulu Guiness clutch. Is white chavtastic? Do I go classic black, or nudey gold? Both I have loads to match, outfit wise. Help quickly please!!!! What's best?

Googled them...I presume it's the small one. He doesn't know me that well to spend loads.

TIA!!! x x x

No, Bagsnob he didn't. I was fiercely independent and wouldn't accept anything at all from him. How nice that you've taken the time to research my personal life though. I'm flattered, though not entirely sure of the relevance.

And yes, mignonette did make that comment. She later apologised and explained she was going through a difficult time in her life due to bereavement. We all understood and accepted her apology. Bravo for doubtless reminding her of her grief though, eh?

dexter73 · 09/01/2014 21:37

I always thought it was a MN joke that people had spreadsheets to record information on other posters but it seems like it is true.

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 21:38

Anything else you'd like to mention? Perhaps the fact I once mentioned my 16 year battle with bulimia, or the miscarriage I had in 2012?

Hey, come on. We don't need to drag unoffered detail of people's private lives across this thread. Karl says no. Sad

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 21:44

No, if I'd had a go for sleeping with someone else's husband - that would be hypocrisy. I've never accepted luxury goods from a stranger.

alma123 · 09/01/2014 21:45

Out of order

alma123 · 09/01/2014 21:46

'Out of order' was directed at bagsnob

I'm confused, is accepting luxury goods from a stranger worse than sleeping with someone else's husband then?
Maybe you're holding the"moral ruler" you've enjoyed applying here, upside down?

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 21:54

And I've never pretended otherwise. That has been my main issue with all this - the pretence that it's all lovely and innocent.

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 09/01/2014 21:55

Bagsnob, unless you know Amber, her husband or the ex wife I don't think you can comment on the situation.

BAGSNOB · 09/01/2014 21:58

What's the difference between me asking a question using information she has openly spoken about and lots of posters commenting on the OP Is it because the OP isn't on MNV?

Ubik1 · 09/01/2014 22:00

It is really bad form to bring up poster's personal info on a thread and use it against them.

Mumsnetters never did this in the past but I am seeing it more and more...BAGSNOB you should be ashamed.

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 09/01/2014 22:01

I'm not on MNV. I don't know Amber at all. For all we know her dh was effectively separated when they got together. It is not our business and we don't have any detail.

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 22:01

Well, this isn't my thread but I'm game.

I know what I did was wrong. I'll be the first to admit it and take any abuse that rightfully comes my way.

BAGSNOB · 09/01/2014 22:07

Look this is not about abusing Amber or Mignionette or dragging the personal information up I was trying to make a point about some posters justifying their nastiness to the OP by saying they are morally outraged when that's probably not the real reason at all.

Night

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 22:08

Well, I'm just worn out after all that moralising.

Off to give myself fifty lashes before bed.

chartreuse · 09/01/2014 22:08

bagsnob had the nerve to post what I've been thinking all day. I nearly choked on my earl grey when Amber called the OP 'morally dubious'

You got balls Amber I'll give you that!

ScooseIsLoose · 09/01/2014 22:09

out of order bagsnob if you have issue with other posters take it up on their threads its bad form to bring it up on a thread that is totally unrelated.

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 22:10

And a massive cock chartreuse, but that's one cars in keeping close to my chest.

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 22:11

card I'm

See, I really am tired.

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 09/01/2014 22:12

Why do bag threads implode?
