Chanel Bags...

Hello....not a stealth boast, more of a quick, help me not look like a chav....

A friend of mine is in handbag shop right now. He's just text me saying would I prefer a "Chanel Quilted Caviar leather Flap bag" in black, red, white or gold.

What do I have? Discounted red as I have a red Lulu Guiness clutch. Is white chavtastic? Do I go classic black, or nudey gold? Both I have loads to match, outfit wise. Help quickly please!!!! What's best?

Googled them...I presume it's the small one. He doesn't know me that well to spend loads.

But the vitriol, pure bile, addressed to the poster is inexcusable IMO. Whether you agree with her or not. Personal insults is low. Address the decision and the morals of it if you wish.

But the thread has moved on, so I'll stop posting. It's the first few catty responses that made me and at posters I previously respected.

MrsCB my reissue is lovely! When I bought it at Sloane Street in the summer they had a couple - with RHW, if you are interested, they don't seem to sell as fast as the classic flaps so may have some left.

I must say though that I use my medium navy caviar classic flap bag (with SHW) more. It's a better size for me as I'm a short arse, and I think it looks cool in an understated kind of way (!) with jeans or chinos. I know the double cc isn't everyone's taste, but I fell in love with it when I saw it

BTW Amber I have BV and Goyard too. That's how classy I am

Love the re-issue, though don't own one. There are some great Chanel bags around at the mo with prices between £1500-£2k. Not classic flaps but with a strong nod to that look. Enjoy the Chloe, they are beautiful and built to last.

I don't doubt you are classy special. I do like navy the best of all the Chanel flaps, but if I were to get a Chanel I'd get a Boy. I'm not classy enough for a BV, they're too grown up - my next bag will be a Balenciaga City or a Givenchy Nightingale.

Mine will be a Celine trio.

If my Rocco wasn't so shit I think I'd feel that way about it. Saw a woman with one yesterday and hers was all beaten up too.

I am a PS1 woman and I also like the leather wallet/bags from Merci Paris. I have a Chanel I rinsed from my Mother (sorry-couldn't resist) and a 2:55 in pale yellow lambskin. The new Missoni bags here, here and Smythson here are cool.

I also love Loewe and covet a Flamenco for Summer. I visited their store in Spain last Autumn and nearly succumbed.

I never use it. Too Bourgeois looking on me at the moment IMO.

Amber - 40Bum has a Rocco I think and I stroke it when I can in Selfridges - is it not hardy? Too £££ full price for me but if it when in sale then a black one with rose gold hw would do me nicely.

My Pashli is serving me well at the moment - I'm really pleased with it. Though it already has loose raisins and other detritus rattling around the bottom. Sigh.

I've got a grey one, bought last Jan in sales and within six weeks some of the leather trim had worn away and it is badly scuffed at the corners. I haven't been treating it terribly roughly so I was really disappointed.
