Hello....not a stealth boast, more of a quick, help me not look like a chav....

A friend of mine is in handbag shop right now. He's just text me saying would I prefer a "Chanel Quilted Caviar leather Flap bag" in black, red, white or gold.

What do I have? Discounted red as I have a red Lulu Guiness clutch. Is white chavtastic? Do I go classic black, or nudey gold? Both I have loads to match, outfit wise. Help quickly please!!!! What's best?

Googled them...I presume it's the small one. He doesn't know me that well to spend loads.

TIA!!! x x x

And sugar I can't stop wondering, but why did you choose mumsnet to ask about chanel bags? And why did you need to explain who/ and why He is getting it ?, Like amber I find it very strange,

I am loving this thread.

I want Karl to pop in and give us a quote on it all.

It's got chavs, it's got Chanel, it's got fights, it has got wall to wall beautiful people. There is nothing not to love here.

NewChoos · 08/01/2014 21:46

Goodness..
There have been some lovely bag links though Grin

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 21:46

Good stuff indeed.

Specialbrew · 08/01/2014 21:47

Mig Lambskin, yum, they feel lovely, but I would probably wreck a Lambskin bag in a week.

Amber when I started looking at Chanel I thought I wanted a Boy bag too, but when I went to the stores, it didn't make my heart sing the way the reissue did. I really love the double flap Chanel bags with the all leather interior, and the hidden pockets. The Boy, I think, had a material (probably silk) lining, which just felt a bit ordinary for such an expensive bag. And having hit 40, it also felt a bit young for me.

Givenchy Nightingale s a great choice

SugarHut · 08/01/2014 21:49

Hi Santa, he's not married. Was, but divorced years ago.

ExP was on the STRL, near the top. He was a tight as a ducks ass Grin

So yes, would agree the wealthiest friends I have don't behave this way. It's the "got a few mill, but want to pretend I'm Mittal" types that behave like this, in my experience. But, it makes them happy. And life's all about doing what makes you happy.

It's not the norm to most, no. It's the norm to me and a couple of other girls I know. This is the first time I've ever accepted though...

The double flap has a secret, perfect condom size zipper pocket Wink

MissBeehiving · 08/01/2014 21:52

Oh Sugar you've posted most of that on all of your other threads when you manage to shoehorn how rich/young/rich/successful/beautiful/rich/qualified/rich you are and your ex DP are.

Matsikula · 08/01/2014 21:54

SugarHut, why don't you ask your glamourous model friends for advice on this, surely they have much better fashion advice than a bunch of strangers on the Internet with a media reputation for being po-faced and right-on?

santamarianovella · 08/01/2014 21:57

I don't like the boy bag! I lovvvvve the WOC! And

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 08/01/2014 21:59

I think the guy made good choices. Sounds like he got something like a jumbo beige clair for day to night use (and this works for op's neutral wardrobe) and a Medium/large black for evening use.

Lifeisaboxofchocs · 08/01/2014 21:59

Sugar, I wonder whether it is the same guy! It was a few years ago. He is an aussie? Quite well known. So sweet, but bit of a cliche in the sense that he is lonely and tries to 'buy' people. I politely declined as had just met my now DH and I was utterly bamboozled by him. The detail that stands out for me is that he absolutely loved his dog, a little spaniel or something. I recall he sent me a picture of himself, with his dog, sitting at a table in Monaco, glass of champagne in hand, with the most amazing backdrop, with the caption 'you could be here with me if you wanted?'. Nah, I was falling hard for DH. Who had and has a fraction of his wealth.

Anyway, Sugar I remember from your previous thread, you just don't give a damn about the haters. And i love it. You come on to the right section and you post a question and handbags. And goodness, don't they just come wriggling out of woodwork. Angry, pissed off, self-righteous and definitely, definitely, absolutely not, jealous.

mistermakersgloopyglue · 08/01/2014 22:03

Oh sugarhut, you are one of my favourite posters but COME ON, you knew exactly how this thread was going to go and you only started it for attention and so that you could turn around and accuse mumsnetters of jealousy etc. Its so obvious!

I find that when I read threads like this, the angry ones just blend into one long screechy screech.

OP, did you read the post where I think something like Mignonette writes about guy himself? Worth a read for a chuckle.

Lifeisaboxofchocs · 08/01/2014 22:05

Oh they believe it Sugar. The issue is that it pisses them right off.

SinisterSal · 08/01/2014 22:08

Eejits if you think it's jealousy! Come on you pair of numpties Grin

SugarHut · 08/01/2014 22:08

No...not Aussie, he's Welsh Grin but he does have a golden lab he obsesses over. Hmmm....

Amen sister.

That's the difficulty, this reality is so unobtainable for them, they have to act like this. You've been here, you get it. I have a stunning friend who makes what I've been offered now, and in the past, look paltry. I'm happy for her, but then, I'm happy with me :)

So why post about it here then? You knew this would be the reaction. It was the 'i have known this guy for 9 days' that got people all Hmm and that definitely was not information that you needed to divulge. You are just out to shock, why pretend otherwise? (its quite funny though!)

Lifeisaboxofchocs · 08/01/2014 22:09

ok, you win. Just plain bitchiness then.
