SugarHut · 06/01/2014 17:26

Hello....not a stealth boast, more of a quick, help me not look like a chav....

A friend of mine is in handbag shop right now. He's just text me saying would I prefer a "Chanel Quilted Caviar leather Flap bag" in black, red, white or gold.

What do I have? Discounted red as I have a red Lulu Guiness clutch. Is white chavtastic? Do I go classic black, or nudey gold? Both I have loads to match, outfit wise. Help quickly please!!!! What's best?

Googled them...I presume it's the small one. He doesn't know me that well to spend loads.

TIA!!! x x x

My husband buys my bags. Unless I sell one or two to fund another.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:34

Yes I do find orange people a bit amusing actually.

i don't have one of those super hitech laptops that reads the posts aloud in the accent of each poster so I couldn't possibly comment upon her accent.

Show me where I commented upon her beauty? I don't give a flrying fart about her beauty.

And again, where did I infer I wasn't aware this was going on? Seeing as I already knew about rinsers and posted a link to it that kind of implies that I am perfectly aware that some women (for dint of an inclination to earn items any other way or because they have no choice) will acquire items through prostitution or rinsing. And you are being naive if you don't see this for what it is.

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 20:34

Phew, I'm alright then property. Though I am short.

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/01/2014 20:34

I love the sound of the bordeaux re-issue - I'd be very tempted by that one.

I started a chanel thread a while back as have just gone back to work and am planning on saving for one. It got nowhere near this amount of comments [jealous] Wink

Lifeisaboxofchocs · 08/01/2014 20:35

Hmmm not quite the picture I have as I read your posts!

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 20:36

Feel free to look at my profile life.

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 20:37

MrsCB you've just had a new bag. Don't be greedy.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:39

Oh Shredded

You really are being disingenuous aren't you? me thinks you've lost the debate because what i never said was that accepting a gift from somebody is rinsing.

What I am talking about are people who target wealthy men for the purpose of getting them to spend on them. That is the exchange.

It is NOT the same as your husband/wife/BF/Sister/ yada yada buying you a gift because of the real emotional connection they have with you, One generally not based upon a power relationship of complete inequality (whatever the Op cares to say, this is an unequal relationship based upon the oldest trade known to (wo)man).

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:40

Funny how the people standing on their moral high ground about personal attacks see it as okay to personally attack Amber about her reputed appearance.

Fucking hypocritical behaviours.

Lifeisaboxofchocs · 08/01/2014 20:43

Thank you for the offer, but no. I have to say, seriously surprised that someone spouting the nonsense and nasty comments you have been doing would dare to display their photo.

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 08/01/2014 20:43

Do you have your eye on a particular Chanel, Mrs CB? There are lots of good choices.....

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 08/01/2014 20:44

You're short Amber? Maybe you should try a career in modelling. It'll undoubtedly yield higher dividends than messing about in the City.

Hmm, do you look 23 though? That's what all the famous and successful models need to.

ShreddedHoops · 08/01/2014 20:45

Mignonette do you know women who have been treated like this? Know them personally? I don't move in those kind of circles but through parenthood and so on have made friends with two ladies who are routinely spoiled like this. It's not equal, it's a man showing off his financial standing to impress, but it really is like courtship. And neither of the women I know 'target' those men, although perhaps some do - do you have personal knowledge or a link or something? Because it just isn't like prostitution IMO, I find the digs quite poisonous. If you have expensive bags etc, either you earn lots of money, or you're married to a rich man, or you have been gifted them. Why is the latter automatically morally dubious? If I could cheer someone up by checking out a fantasy Matches order, I'd do it!

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/01/2014 20:46

I know Amber and I haven't even used it yet!

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:46

Amber owns her words and doesn't hide behind a pseudonym like the rest of us.

I'm sure there are plenty of surgeons/photoshoppers that'll make anyone look 23. Except in real life.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 08/01/2014 20:47

Could you embellish your post with information on how rich your husband is, MrsCB? Also how jealous and mean your neighbours are.

It's very relevant to whether black or cream would suit you more.

ShreddedHoops · 08/01/2014 20:48

Why are you being catty though Mignonette, I really don't get it! No need at all, I enjoy your considered and knowledgable posts on MNV. Why the vitriol to this?

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/01/2014 20:48

Property - I think I'll go for the re-issue but have just had chloe marcie so will wait a while. Smile

I do love handbags though - expensive shoes I can take or leave.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:48

Shredded I have linked already and yes, there are real life women like this. I am not going to post their bloody details on t'internet.

Danika gave an interview, went on CBB and was open about it. So I feel it is appropriate to post that link.

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2014 20:49

It's ok mig I'll just drag my hunchback, hideous self back to my cave where I throw darts at pictures of all the pretty girls. It should have been me!

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:50

And I have already said that NOT ALL gift giving and receiving is morally dubious. Jeez.

Just some and the OP is an example if that. She herself describes the cognitive reprogramming she did on herself so as to allow her own moral codes to slip enough to allow her to do it. It is in her own words.

Ooh random CBB claim to fame - I went to school with Danika's nemesis Jasmine Lennard.

Um, actually mig my surname isn't nectarine.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:52

Amber I'll come back to that cave with you.

I really do think that there are two threads because I am not seeing what others are seeing.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 20:53

I am very disappointed to hear that Amber. It is a rocking surname! Grin.

I meant your visual identity is out there.
