Hello wise ones, I hope you can help.
After wearing a 34B for the last 20 odd years, I have followed the advice on this forum and remeasured. It turns out I'm a 30D Smile
I have been happily wearing a couple of Sainsbury's
32D's for a few months (on mat leave, so I've been a bit skint)
So, my problem is, my Dh bought me FIVE bras for Christmas in my new size,.. But they are from M and S (I know..) and they are all massive. I'm wondering how their sizes come up ? should I swap for a smaller cup or should I just get him to get his money back and go elsewhere Hmm ?
Thanks in advance ladies

Bugger sorry I wasn't leaning over when I measured around my boobs I've just done that and its 42 inches not 40

KeithTheCat · 19/09/2014 21:21

Sock I think you're a 30HH.

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 19/09/2014 21:26

Sock sounds like you might need very wide wires side to side, but shallow cups from chest to nipple? You could try some Curvy Kate's or some Bravissimo half cups or other own brand styles - I find them incredibly wide.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 19/09/2014 21:29

time would you agree with a 30hh?

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 19/09/2014 21:50

Yes absolutely. I got intervened from something like a 36F to a 30HH a few months ago and have lost a bit of weight since then and am now buying 30 GG's mostly. So I've shopped around a lot in those cup sizes. Places like brastop.co.uk, mycurvesandme.co.uk have been a god send, as has ebay.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 19/09/2014 22:01

I remember brastop used to have a small shop in baker st station. Used to love it in there

Swex · 19/09/2014 22:03

Hello! May I hijack please. Finished bf 3 weeks ago and am 2 kilo into weight loss. So boobs are disappearing madly. I will redo in a month or so but wanted a ball park bra size please, oh lovely bra ladies.

Using your method I got 32 and 37....
Any ideas?
(I suit balconette bras. Or at least I did pre bf!)

Thank you in advance

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 19/09/2014 22:11

32DD to start with Swex

Swex · 20/09/2014 19:42

Thanks! Will get those. How long do you reckon it takes them to recover from stoping bf? And do they ever regain fullness? Shock

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 20/09/2014 20:47

I fed my last child for 2.5 years and there wasn't much change when I stopped tbh because it was so long, but if you're noticing loss of volume with weight loss as well, it's likely to continue at least for a bit. But I've also always had big boobs, I'm still a 30GG/H four years later!

NeedsAsockamnesty · 21/09/2014 01:09

Just wanted to let you know that you were correct on the size, thank you

CarbeDiem · 25/09/2014 00:43

My friend would like to know what size she should be wearing after many failed attempts at high street shops, so I said I'd ask here.

She wears a 36 D usually, sometimes a C or DD but the cups don't seem to fit properly - too much cup she says and sometimes some overspill too.
She has a little back fat and underarm fat that sometimes spills over below the armpit.
I don't know if it's relevant but she gave this info too -
Boobs still have some fullness, nips still pointing out, just. (I'd rather not know this much about my friends breasts but hey ho it's for a good cause :) ) and a little empty on the top part above the nipple.

I told her to measure as per bra intervention and her measurements are -
33' under. It's snug but only tight when breathing out.
40' boobs at 90 degrees.

Thank you.

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 25/09/2014 07:22

32F and FF to start with Carbe

CarbeDiem · 25/09/2014 13:35

She first said
'Wowzers! Really?' Then 'Thank You' :)

I think I might have a 34FF which has only been worn a few times that she can try to get an idea - she can't believe the cup size :)

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2014 16:00

Get her to 'scoop' (vigorously!)

CarbeDiem · 25/09/2014 17:32

I'll tell her to Sorrell.
Doesn't it feel uncomfortable? forcing boobs and fat from different places where it doesn't naturally sit? Or will that just be temporary?

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2014 18:14

No I don't find it uncomfortable at all. In fact, scooping always relieves the pressure of the band!

CarbeDiem · 25/09/2014 20:04

Stupid question No2 :)
Doesn't it make back fat stick out more? you know because you're wearing a smaller band size therefore it's going to be tighter.
Forgive me I've never tried a bra intervention but know if I wear the next size down to what I need - it's not comfortable.
I'm assuming this is where the extra room in the cup comes in handy, yes?

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2014 22:29

You're spot on. The extra room in the cup is where all the flesh needs to go. I get back fat in a 34DD but not in a 30GG!

CarbeDiem · 26/09/2014 03:54

I shall have to try myself :)
Thank you.
